I have read the bible 6 times. Every time I get something knew as if I had never read it before. Even when in tired and I don't comprehend the way I want to at least I reading and speaking the words out loud every single day. AND YES IM LIIVING FOR JESUS!
6 times?! Wow that’s amazing!! I’ve always found it fascinating how you can always find something new in the Bible no matter how long you’ve been studying it. Do you have any tips on how to not feel discouraged when not understanding the Scripture the way that you want to?
Hi Nicki! New subscriber here. I finished reading the whole Bible this spring. It took me about 17 months. When I told my husband I was reading the whole Bible, he said exactly what you said, "just so you can brag about it". That was kind of funny, because he has read the whole Bible many times himself. Anyways, for me it was not about bragging, it was about growing deeper in my faith and learning more . It was hard to read many of the chapters in the old testament, especially those about killing and sacrificing. But, it sure made you understand why the whole human race needs a savior. I'm starting again reading the whole Bible in one year January 1, 2022. I have just ordered an ESV Journaling Bible so I can write and draw prayers, worship and just make it beautiful and personal. I usually read the KJV version, which I bought in 2019. NIV is good for younger people who need a more modern language to understand, but in my opinion they have changed it too much. Sometimes I read a Swedish version of the Bible as I am born and raised in Sweden, but that's even worse. They have totally hopped over verses and it just makes me very confused. I agree with you though, any Bible is better than none. Right after I got saved for real in 2016, I used to read the Bible just randomly before I went to sleep, and it was my way of pushing out all of the devil's lies. It worked! I love the fact that your children are reading the Bible. I have not been able to get the going on that, even though I've tried. Any tips?? Have a blessed Christmas and New Year! //Sofia
I finally settled on an NLT Life Application Study Bible, after struggling to find the best Bible for me and I love it. I try to read my Bible daily, I have more time now that it's Winter. Love your You tube Channel.❤
I have quite a few bibles. I also have the On year Bible for women NLT and I love it! I always wanted to read the whole bible. I purchased the one year bible 10 plus years ago. Finally, I said I’m gonna do it. So the beginning of the new year, I began. I went a step further and asked a few lady friends if they would like to join me on this. This made me accountable. Because we lived a distance away from one another I created a newsfeed on messenger so we could all talk about our readings. I started researching beautiful videos on UA-cam to help us and it was fun watching them. Each day was a reading from the OT and NT (plus psalms and proverbs) as you stated. It was so amazing to me how the OT is referred to in the NT. This is our 2nd year reading the One Year Bible. I’m learning more the 2nd time around. I encourage you to take another look at your beautiful One Year Bible. Perhaps it may be something for you personally to do on your own ( Or with a friend(s) like I did). I know in my heart I love this bible! It’s one thing to read the Bible “all over the place” ( that’s how I read it for all the years I’ve held a bible in my hands). But it’s a whole different thing when reading it this way - The One Year Bible! You get the bigger picture of what this book is really saying. I hope you will hold it in your hands and give it another try - maybe for the year 2021! 💗 Love your top tips. Totally agree with you. Love your favorite study bible. Love your son’s new brown bible too. ( want to check them out). All the Bible’s are very nice. Thank you for your video. God Bless 🙏💗🕊
Thank you for sharing your family's Bibles with us - I usually recommend the NLT Life Application Bible for anyone who is just starting out with the Bible but the NIV Quest Study Bible is also a great one - glad you included it
Servant Of GOD How? If you say they’re missing scriptures you need to do research, because they’re actually closer to the original text then older bibles like the KJV. Why, because the Bible like the KJV was made back in the 1600s they didn’t have all this technology to interpret the Bible like they do today. They were doing what they could with what they had. Now we have so much more technology to help us interpret the original text the Bible is based on.

I love how honest you are! You aren't afraid to say that you don't read your Bible every day, and haven't read the whole Bible. That is what I love about youtubers like you, you aren't afraid to share your opinion, and your very honest.
I am so indecisive! I started with a NKJV, the blue floral bible like you showed in the video. I love it, but am wanting to switch to an NIV. But torn between wanting a hardcover one or an imitation leather one. The main reason being, I like to alter book covers and I think the hardcover one would be easier to alter, but I may just go with my initial gut and get the imitation leather one. I'm probably going to end up with like 20 bibles by the end of my lifetime!! hahaha
Ha have you watched my Bible hoarding video? ua-cam.com/video/j9iQrliIWMo/v-deo.html If you like to alter the cover I'd go with hard cover but if you will use if for church or on your lap I love the soft cover. I'm thankful for your tips. Loved this video. Soft covers are nice when you read your Bible on the go or in Bed. Also Large Print is definitely a plus. I have no problem reading the smaller print, but I got spoiled when I purchased a Large Print Life Application Study Bible and a Giant Print filament Bible. I never really paid much attention to font sizes until I started watching Bible Reviews and all the details are pointed out 😲 ~ a real shocker! Hard Covers are great for standing up in your Bookcase, and I really don't particularly like to stand my leather or leather-like Bibles up on the Bookcase -- it tends to mess them up if not careful. Have a great rest of your day! 🌄
Hey! So I found your channel looking for different bibles and I just fell in love with your channel! I am totally subscribed and notifications are on. Great job! 🙌🏻
My dad and mom both grew up going to church and reading the bible. They never taught us or had us go to church growing up. A couple times I went with a couple of my friends when I was younger but I never really understood anything. My grandma bought us a children's Bible and everytime we went to her house she read us some of it before bed. I watched your video and purchased the NIV Quest Study Bible and can't seem to follow the course and chapters because I'm so into it. I can't put it down so each day I read multiple chapters a few times over to really understand it... we have a lot of distraction so I really have to read it a few times.
I've read the Bible 4 times and I'm in the process of 5th time. This time, I'm not in a rush or have a time limit. I want to slow down, read it correctly and with understanding God's word. Hubby starting school for becoming a pastor so he actually collects KJV versions, while I like to compare one verse to another version. I don't like hard cover Bibles or journal Bibles. I've got NRSV KJV NIV AMP so far. I'm highlighting and underlining/ marking w Bible safe pens in my NRSV KJV NIV Bibles. But not every word. Thx for this channel and ministry, I subscribed!!
I completely agree on the importance of a study bible! I have the NLT illustrated study bible and everything makes so much sense now! I've had so many bibles growing up but it was so hard to read them. (I had never even got through a single book) they all made me feel like I was decoding a cryptic message. If I have a WTF moment reading my study bible, there is a section that explains it. It also has maps and sections talking about the big picture ideas.
Hi! I’m a teenager trying to find the right Bible for me. I recently bought a hard cover study Bible but am looking for something smaller and easier to take with me to church (preferably soft cover or paper back) do you know what your son’s Bible is called? it looked nice!
The way I managed to read the bible was I got an audio commentary from Audible, it was a 62-hour overview of the Bible by Dr. Bill Creasy. Before I listened to this, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy, were very hard to read. I also had trouble with Isaiah and am not sure if I had read Jeremiah, and had the completely wrong idea about the minor prophets, I thought the old testament was in chronological order and that the minor prophets were a continuation after Ezra and Nehemiah. The commentary helped me understand the culture, the geography, the politics, and who was a contemporary of who when it comes to the scriptures. When I finished the commentary (Listening to it on my way to and from work) I was ready to read the bible for myself and had a better understanding of what I was reading and the context in which each book was written. Another way to do this, if listening to a sixty-hour audible bible study doesn't sound appealing. I would recommend going to youtube and before you read each book of the bible, watch David Pawson's overview of that book. David Pawson is an old school preacher who also gives the context surrounding each book of the bible. HIs overviews are both incitful and helpful.
I'm so Blessed, I just went on ebay and found your exact pink Quest Bible....I have the aqua one but I love the pink also....I think it's a rather clever idea to start with the New Testament and read through to the end...I thank you for your idea, for showing your beautiful Bible! I am now a sub and I rang the bell!
Ruth that's awesome!! I have a weakness for aqua and pink!! There is a 2020 reading challenge through the New Testament on my website: www.crazysimpletruth.org Check it out if you haven't yet!! Would love to have you join in!!
As a newbie, I am appreciating all of your videos on getting started. Any other advice/thoughts in new videos would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! God Bless!
Yay on the success you're awesome. I currently use a CSB bible Holman version I think. So many people say KJV only but honestly NIV has been the most impactful to me and all the info is pretty accurate compared to the KJV just easier to read.
My new one is CSB and my favorite one is NIV so it always seems to be my go-to!! I've read it's very close to the original language. I can't read KJV or NKJV. They annoy me 😡 lol
Just think .. we have MORE technology now a days to translate the original manuscripts into modern English without taking anything away from it. The KJV is also very flawed with added and missing verses. But the “die hard” people will take it to the grave with them lol All translations communicate the same thing regardless. You version bible app .. click a verse and “compare” to other verses you like. And they all practically say the exact same thing with minimal word changes.
HI Nicki I have been watching your you tube videos and I finally subscribed, I find them very informative, also you remind me of Courtney Cox from Friends, you have the prettiest blue eyes just like her. Take Care and God Bless.
I enjoyed your video. I’m going to order another study Bible today. The one that I love is the Life Application Study Bible. So I will be ordering another one. Thank you for the great tips. 🙏🏾💗
Since accepting Jesus 8 years ago I think I have read the Bible 3 times. I only have one (pink soft cover NJKV) that my brother gave me. He said it found it left behind from a dorm he was cleaning out.
This was a delight to watch. My eyes are going so I get verse of the day and old/new testament on my phone. It's whatever works for you. We are different parts of the body of Christ.
Hello. Do you have a newer version of this video? I was not able to find the ESV Study Bible of your son's or a version of your first bible, in soft-cover.
Can you please explain which study Bible to buy, I have just been on Amazon and there are dozens of versions, such as, life application, starting place, the grace and truth study Bible and on and on, I have to be honest with you it has absolutely blown my mind. I am loving your channel by the way, I love how clear and concise you are. Thank you so much.🙏
If there is a Christian Book store near you, sometimes they will allow you to take a Bible out for a few days to try it out. If you're looking for your first study Bible, my own suggestion would be either an Life Application Bible in either the NLT or NIV. (I'm a retired pastor - I know what you mean about all the different versions. It can be pretty confusing at times.)
I just ordered a new journaling Bible with big print! I love writing notes and key points in my Bible but I just didn’t have enough room. I think to help me study I’m going to look at UA-cam videos explain the stories
Hey Nicki I agree the one year Bible is hard to follow, there are reading plans that will take you straight through the Bible and you can use your own Bible. Bless you ❤️
Great video Nicki! As a seizure patient I am trying to figure out the best Bible Study method for me. I have been reading my NLT Filament Bible. Iam not very good at note-taking. Any suggestions? God bless you and your family!
Hi Shane! The NLT Filament Bible is 👍 great. You can read the study notes a couple of times if need be and highlight verses that speak to you and write notes in a journal or in the Bible about what that scripture verses ( Holy Spirit) was trying to say to you. The NLT Life Application bible is also a great choice. God Bless you.
New subscriber 😍🔥 loved the energy !! Lol . I definitely want to checkout the video of your daughter bible that she currently was using before you got her a new one . It’s the last bible you showed in the video . It looks like it’s a journal type bible ?
Thank you for such great info..looking for a new Bible now..will be looking for a Study Bible NIV..Currently, I am using In-Courage CSB..but I find, I am spending more time looking for answers to my questions I have on passages...my CSB is a hard cover..and yes, you put soft to hard bibles, I read my Bible in bed, soo difficult..since hard covers DO NOT BEND.. Looking forward to more videos from you..you are adorable, funny..🙏🙏🤩🤩
So happy you found me Annie! This is an old video! You should check out my website www.crazysimpletruth.com/nickispicks to see the Bibles I currently use and recommend!! ♥️♥️
Thank you for this video I really appreciate it , I have never had a physical bible and I have been using an app , which doesn't feel the same as holding a physical book in your hands.
Hi there! What kind of Bible did you get your daughter when she was 6? The first Bible you mentioned. Was thinking it might be a good one for our granddaughter but wasn’t sure which one it was.
I have just discovered your channel and it is wonderful. I do not like how the one year bible jumps around either. My husband however has been getting into it (and he is high functioning autistic also). He only reads the New Testament readings though. So he will get through the New Testament in a year, one book at a time. May be he will do Old Testament next year and so on and so forth. This way he will get through the entire bible in 4 years. A realistic goal. I think. God bless keep up the good work.
My mom bought me the New King James Version (NKJV) for studying and the version I keep in my vehicle is the New International Version (NIV) version. NIV was my first bible.
Have you changed on any of this ? Just curious if you could do an update on these type of videos . I know you have grown a lot spiritually so I am wondering if there will be updated videos :)
Such a great question!! Definitely we have all changed Bibles and I have definitely learned some I like over others. I'll try to get a video out sometime.
Oh the Old Testament is AMAZING!!! I know you’re not saying it isn’t :) Example: Gen 3:19-21 God tells Adam he’s going to die (death) Adam names his wife Eve meaning the mother of all living (Adam shows faith in God by what he’s named his wife) God makes them garments of skin (first blood sacrifice) What’s just happened already in only chapter 3?! The first act of redemption!! And it happened immediately after they disobeyed God. It’s pretty excellent. The Old Testament is all about God revealing His character to His people, showing His love for them, and how He is a relentless pursuer, kinsman redeemer, just, Holy, never forgets His people, long- suffering, and the list goes on. I’m sure you already know these things. I just used to prefer the NT also, until I took more time with the OT and took a semester class of it. Also, I agree reading the Bible in a year is a lot and maybe you don’t think you’d get much out of it.. I’ve never done it. But I read the entire OT in a semester.. and I’m reading the the NT in 31 days, it’s about 13 pages a day (depending on the size and font of your bible).. it opens your eyes to broad themes you may miss reading only small chunks at a time. Either way, it’s getting in your mind and in your hear though and that’s all that matters 🤗 there’s no right or wrong way to read of course!
I also have never read the Bible all the way through. I want to get the Bible study books and I have seen some reviews on them. But not for the youth version. I would like to know if you would be willing to review those for us.
It's an old one. I don't think they make it anymore. There is a link on my website for a similar Quest Study Bible. www.crazysimpletruth.com/nickispicks
Hi! I wanted to get my girlfriend a Bible that she can truly cherish and the first study one with maps looks very promising, what is the title? Thank you!
I am a 13 year old and I am terriblely terrified of hell, I'm scared to read the bible because I don't want to be traumatized after reading something about sin and hell, then worry about it for the next 10 years, i just dont want to go to hell.
You need to read the book of John. You won’t go to hell if Jesus is your Savior. You just have to tell him you want to follow Him, and you have to mean it, and do it. He’s a loving God and you won’t go to hell if you live your life for Him.
So I have a question. I am 17 i just started to really walk with the lord and read his word. I made some mistakes in my life, some huge sins... Idk if those things will be forgiven. I dont know how to ask for forgiveness for the horrid things i have done. And i am still having issues giving up one of those mistakes. I want to know what I can do. I do read the bible daily. And I do study everyday. But I want to know what to do for my issues. I want to read the whole bible in time I want to fully grasp the information first.
Hello! I wanted to answer your question (: We are sinners, and God is holy so, because of His justice, we deserve hell, which is an eternal punishment for sin. But He in His love and mercy sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins so that whoever believes shall not perish but hace eternal life. His sacrifice is completely enough, so, if you believe in Him and you have a true conversion of the heart, be sure ALL sin is forgiven. If you still have issues, pray, fast, give it to the Lord!
God gives mercy and grace and He can help you overcome your struggles. Just keep doing your best and giving it all to Him. If He is truly your Lord and Savior, you will see true and lasting change. Never give up 💕💕💕 it just takes awhile for some, some fight the same sins for a lifetime. But God knows your heart!!
I have read the bible 6 times. Every time I get something knew as if I had never read it before. Even when in tired and I don't comprehend the way I want to at least I reading and speaking the words out loud every single day. AND YES IM LIIVING FOR JESUS!

I can't put it down so each day I read multiple chapters a few times over to really understand it... we have a lot of distraction so I really have to read it a few times.
That's great that you're reading it!!! 💕💕💕
I started with the book of Matthew a few months ago.
Raquel Navas great starting place!!!
There is a 2020 reading challenge through the New Testament on my website: www.crazysimpletruth.org
Check it out if you haven't yet!! Would love to have you join in!!
Love love love your honesty!!! 😊
Yessss!!! Another awesome, open and honest review!!! Sooooo am loving your ministry!
You are so fun and awesome! Also thanks for being REAL!!! I adore you! ☺️ Blessings 💖🙏🏻
As a newbie, I am appreciating all of your videos on getting started. Any other advice/thoughts in new videos would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! God Bless!
Thank you so much! Looking for a new Bible short,on money I will keep praying it will happen. 🙏🏻
Use the free resources on Bible hub!! They are great and you have every translation at your fingertips!!
Haha ikr. I do like to look at most of the main versions for comparison sometimes though.
Nicki Drake lol. I read the NKJV. I also like the NLT. 😊
Just think .. we have MORE technology now a days to translate the original manuscripts into modern English without taking anything away from it. The KJV is also very flawed with added and missing verses. But the “die hard” people will take it to the grave with them lol
All translations communicate the same thing regardless.
I've never seen these kind of awesome Bibles in my place ☹️
That's so sad do you need a bible?
First time viewer, love your spunky personality...getting ready to buy a bible...
So glad you're here!!! ♥️♥️♥️

Thank you so much for the tips!
Thank you for this tutorial it was very helpful. I am learning how to read the Bible and to journal.
I'm so happy you are eager to learn more about the Bible
Since accepting Jesus 8 years ago I think I have read the Bible 3 times. I only have one (pink soft cover NJKV) that my brother gave me. He said it found it left behind from a dorm he was cleaning out.
This was a delight to watch. My eyes are going so I get verse of the day and old/new testament on my phone. It's whatever works for you. We are different parts of the body of Christ.
Great video thanks for sharing
I just got my new bible. Thanks for your tips... 💕
😅awesome thank you for tips God bless you
Thank you 🙏🏿 the video really help me
Bless you ❤️
Thank you for watching Susan!! One of these days (or years!!) I'll read it all. 🤗 God bless 💖m
I’m moving to larger print. Can’t see print with my new glasses.
I’m reading in genisis and going along
I’ve been trying to read the Bible more and want a new one so I can take more notes without having to write on top of the words
New subscriber 😍🔥 loved the energy !! Lol . I definitely want to checkout the video of your daughter bible that she currently was using before you got her a new one . It’s the last bible you showed in the video . It looks like it’s a journal type bible ?
I had my old NLT Life Application Study Bible for 30 years.
I bet that was well loved!!
Nicki Drake-CrazySimpleTruth yes it was very loved
Hi what’s the name of your daughters bible please 🙏 just trying to found a good one for my daughters. Thanks❤️
I'm looking for a Beginner's Bible for myself, I want the best! I want it to explain everything simply, I so Love God and am wanting so much more !!
I like the Life Application Study Bible for beginners!!
I recently bought the NRSV Cultural Backgrounds Study Bible and this thing is huge!!!! Definitely a more neutral Bible though
Easy tip...Youversion app chronological 90 day or yearly reading plans
Pls where's can I buy myself and the name of the bible.
I just happened to buy an NIV soft cover, large print study Bible a few months ago! I love it except it’s heavy! Lol
Very heavy!!!
I can't remember what it was called. I'm so sorry. 😩
I shared you a few times because I enjoy your channel and your teaching so much! Congrats on growing!
Thank you so much Bonnie for sharing my videos!! 💖💖💖
So happy you found me!! 💙💙💙
My mom bought me the New King James Version (NKJV) for studying and the version I keep in my vehicle is the New International Version (NIV) version. NIV was my first bible.
My first Bible was NIV as well. And I am really liking my NKJV Bible too!!
I just have the same bible as your son I just got it today
It's a neat one!!
I want to get a bible I’m a kid but I know some bibles have been tampered with so I don’t know wich ones to get
Try the New Living Translation.nitsbeaay to read for kids. 💕
@@nickidrake ok will do but do u know if it’s on Amazon?
Thanks so much tips! I go too you 1st for updates 🌸
I have a study bible on my e-reader. It helps because I can make the font size big.
I loved the video really helped I was wondering if you had a link or something like your sons bible . Thank you 🙏
Thank you for your tips
6:25 had me LAUGHING, loved the honesty!
Don't know what I said at 6:25! But I'm sure it was something goofy!! 🤪 Glad you're here Naomi💜
Oh the Old Testament is AMAZING!!! I know you’re not saying it isn’t :)
Example: Gen 3:19-21
God tells Adam he’s going to die (death)
Adam names his wife Eve meaning the mother of all living (Adam shows faith in God by what he’s named his wife)
God makes them garments of skin (first blood sacrifice)
What’s just happened already in only chapter 3?!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE. Genesis and Exodus!! Haven't studied the other history and law books in-depth yet, but I sure want to someday!!
I also have never read the Bible all the way through. I want to get the Bible study books and I have seen some reviews on them. But not for the youth version. I would like to know if you would be willing to review those for us.
I do t have those, otherwise I'd be happy to!!

Can you provide the link for the CSB Bible?
I am a 13 year old and I am terriblely terrified of hell, I'm scared to read the bible because I don't want to be traumatized after reading something about sin and hell, then worry about it for the next 10 years, i just dont want to go to hell.
You need to read the book of John. You won’t go to hell if Jesus is your Savior. You just have to tell him you want to follow Him, and you have to mean it, and do it. He’s a loving God and you won’t go to hell if you live your life for Him.
Hi. I just want to ask how and where can i buy the Quest study bible? Thank you in advance. God bless 😊
There is a link in the description box and also on my website under the Supplies tab that is on the top :) Blessings!
Can i use the first bible for an 11 year old? what is it called? How about the second one? God bless you
Erika Martinez it would be perfect for an a 11 year old!! It’s called Gods Word for Girls printed by Baker Books.
I LOVE the Rainbow Bible KJV it a study Bible
