Hi Nicki, Your notebook idea is amazing. I had tried the same thing. I found it to be too bulky. I use a Decomposition Book (a composition note book made from recycled paper) for my study and scripture writing. My sermon notes are few and tucked in that notebook. I don't prayer journal on a regular basis (rarely). Only when I can't focus. Those prayers are in there to. 😆

I took your comment about stickers etc to heart. That sort of thing can be a diversion. I think at the very least if that’s fun for you, do it separately, don’t make it your bible study time, emphasis on study. But I’ve stumbled across that whole journaling thing, and, since I have a wide margin bible, I did take a verse that jumped out at me, about fleeing from bad doctrine, and drew myself running like crazy towards the light. Just a small illustration in coloured pencil, nothing fancy. Do you know, I remember the verse, and got hit between the eyes that I must flee, run for all I’m worth because life depends on it, run your fastest, not some lazy shambling shift in direction when next convenient! And it’s stuck in my memory, which is why I can tell you about it. I’m currently doing a reading plan, and it’s big chunks, and I’m behind but determined to finish the whole bible as there are bits I’ve never seen, like Lamentations etc, so your method will also be extra for now. But provided you don’t go overboard by focusing on you ur art and not a God, as you say, I’ve come to see the value of an illustration, if not a whole scrap book installation! It is helping me to focus on aspects of a verse, but it’s an extra, not a bible study method, as you rightly imply. Thank you.

Bible study is priority, but adding some creative elements, if your heart is focused on the doctrine of scripture, can actually help some people remember the message better. Especially visual/kinethsetic learner's, like me 😊

Thank you for sharing! I agree you should focus on God's word. I feel some people do focus on God's word even more so through art/stickers. I believe it depends on the person. I am not artsy but I make bookmarks to mark places in my bible. I learn from the Bible by writing out verses. To me it is not any different than making your tabs.
Nancie, I have begun Bible journaling since I made this video, and I LOVE it!!! I make all kinds of art in my Bible :) I just make sure to keep my focus on my time with the Lord first. I agree, that writing out the verses in whatever art form does help you meditate on them and learn them even more!!
I don;t understand something. To convict someone means to find them guilty or prove them guilty. Why do so many of you say that God convicts you or the Holy Spirit convicts you of a phrase in the bible or to do a certain action, etc.? I do have to say that I agree with this type of journaling. Most of the bible journal folks don't even mention a verse they are decorating about. And "super cute" is a phrase that somehow seems disrespectful to the sincerity or lack thereof deep Scripture study. Thank you for the printable!!
Conviction and condemnation are two different things. One, I believe, is from God, and the other is from Satan. God doesn't want us to feel guilty or ashamed, that's Satan's condemnation! God's "conviction" teaches us to want to be better and more like Christ 😊 conviction, when referring to Christianity, is a good thing. It's how God molds us to become more like him. ❤️ To me, Bible study and Bible journaling (or Bible art) are two different things but can unite beautifully if your heart is in the right place (yearning to learn more about God's word). God is THE Creator! He is creative and we are made in his image, so I think being creative with your scriptures or prayers is okay, as long as people prioritize the actual study of His word, without the distraction of creating.
