How to break 120 in golf is easy and stress free but how to break 100 in golf you don't need a special book or course. You just need common sense playas.
Some people may even ask me, how to break 100 in 6 weeks? Let me tell you it's easy.
    1. Dont add up your score as you go, just count the strokes put it in the card, add it all up after 18 holes.
    2. Hit the safest club off the tee to keep you in play.
    3. Add 2 stokes to the par of each hole with index 1 to 9. Add 1 stroke to the par of each hole index 10-18.
    4. Your new Green in regulation changes unlike a pro green in regulation.
    5. Take into account the roll out of your chips. Do not land the ball AT THE HOLE. It will roll out so plan for that and chip short to run up.
    6. Practice your putting - you can probably cut 6 strokes alone from NOT three putting. You don't three putt if you practice diligently.
    7. Stop getting angry because you dont play like a pro. This is a delusion. If you advance the ball toward the hole, it is a positive.
Relax and you will get better.
How to break 100 in golf youtube is my middle name.
Some people want 5 golf tips to break 100 but that will never work. You need the full view of 18 holes like we do here at Golf Sidekick like a baus. Break 100 meaning? Score less then 99.
What is break 100 in golf? Scoring 99 strokes or less.
How to become a better golfer in 30 days? Rotella books. Hitting the practice green for chipping and putting. That is all you need.
How long does it take to break 100? Between 6 months to 2 years after beginning the game.

Ever since I watched your channel I started using fairway woods or hybrids off the tee way more often. Only hit my driver when I’m feeling confident some days or on long holes where it clearly helps. Game has improved drastically and I see way too many high handicappers grabbing driver every hole and just ruining their rounds losing balls

Breaking 90 was course management and self honesty. Playing comfortably within the game you have on a given day to the safe spots on the course (from correct tees) will result in breaking 90. 60% of the time, it works every time.

Two weeks ago I scored 98, spraying my driver all over the place, topping fairway woods and losing it with hybrids. Last week I left everything longer than a 5 iron in the car and scored 85. D+9i or 5i+6i is still two shots, except with D it wasn't usually +9i, it was a chip out sideways from the cabbages and on for 3 if I was lucky.

Love it, I'm on a similar journey. Broke 90 for the first time and then things fell apart, I've been having lessons and made a change that I'm starting to do more consistently on the course to brilliant effect, after scoring in the hundreds for a while. It really helped me to do exactly this, I played with a 7i and below (zen golf), not chasing scores but instead practicing to swing the way that I wanted. Driver has been interesting, and when I get past the mental hiccup that is trying to smash it's pretty awesome 😎
Can't wait to see Bdog swing more freely!

This really helps me a lot. I use no higher than a 5 hybrid now, and no lower than a pitching wedge. Six clubs total = less decision making. I hit a lot more fairways (or at least I can find most of my tee shots), and my own "par" is one or two over depending on the difficulty of the hole. I'm so close to breaking 100 now. Thanks.

Good video. I usually shoot in the mid-80's, but still the most joyous moment in golf for me was the first time I broke 100 many years ago. I was the first time I felt I was playing golf instead of it playing me. Also, great advice about playing your second shot when there is no chance of reachbing the group ahead. So many times I have seen someone hit a drive about 170 yards and then wait for the green to clear 220 yards ahead. Even if they teed it up and hit driver again they would still be 50 yards short.

I’ve done this slightly differently. Bought a 7 wood and using it more and more where I once might have used driver just to make sure I stay on the course. Played today and started really bad (nervous playing with new people) so I went back to just keeping it on the course and playing safe and managed to get in rhythm and shoot an 80 🎉🎉

I just shot my first ever sub-50 nine hole round (46) by using your break 100 series and this video.
Only pulled driver ONCE. Most tee shots were a 4 hybrid 180-190 carry with some nice rollout, middle of the fairway all day. Only used 7i and below from there, haven't practiced the hybrid from the deck yet. anything above 150 in, split it into two shots leaving myself either 110 in with PW, 100 with the gap, 80 with the sand wedge.

I started playing golf in 2020 (had to do something during the lockdown). I limited my practice to the range and hitting into a net in my attic, but I finally made it to the course late in 2021.
There has been progress (slow, but progress), starting with rounds in the 120’s and gradually working down to scores around 105-108, which is where I’ve been hovering thru the 10 or so rounds I’ve been able to play so far this year. Horrendous, yes, but I’m still a newbie (nevertheless, it’s still frustrating).
I found this channel a couple of weeks ago and have been gorging on the vids, several of them I’ve watched at least a dozen times. I love Matt’s teaching style and the videos are pure gold. I took the “breaking 100” videos and Matt’s timely and practical advice to heart and I had my best round today with a 101 (and not coincidentally, it was my first round after receiving my Waddaplaya merch - of which I will be buying more ASAP!!😁)
While I didn’t break 100 (due to an epic meltdown on a par 5 - the bunker refused to let go of my ball, as well as a particularly schizophrenic green on a par 3), I had so much fun! I left my driver and my hybrids in the trunk of car and made it an “all-iron affair” - it was great! I still had misses but they weren’t devastating misses. I was able to scramble, stick to the plan, THINK, and still post decent scores on the holes. And the best part was that there was absolutely NO STRESS (even with it being my first time on this particular course - and it wasn’t an easy one).
I can’t express how much this channel - and my play today - has done for my confidence; I have no doubt I will break 100 my next round! Thanks for a great channel, Matt. Your videos are simply fabulous - and did I say the merch is GREAT? 🤣🤣

On the second hole he hit his 7 iron off the tee 182. He's got no problem breaking 100 if he can do this. Clearly for him it's a case of not slicing driver and losing stupid shots. Unfortunately, I hit my 7 iron about 120, and then maybe miss it. So this won't work for me.

@@BloodyYTNamingNonsense I recently returned to golf after many years of not playing. When I stopped playing I consistently shot in the mid 80s. These days I play with my 72 year old father who can no longer hit the ball very far and plays from the front tees. With my long break, I have lost my accuracy and consistency but not my distance. I’ve been playing from the tips as a distance handicap against my dad. At our course, the difference between the front and back tees is over 1500 yards but I still out drive him most of the time (although he now beats me most of the time). Right now my enjoyment of the game is being able to get out and play with my dad (my mom plays with us too) and not worrying too much about how much my game has slipped. Inside 150 yards is where I’ve lost the most strokes but I definitely lose strokes off the tee since when I miss the fairway, I miss BIG! I’m going to start leaving my ego (and woods) at home, change tees, and let that be my distance handicap.

My break 100 story involved the use of a 3 wood, 5 iron, and "chipper" club. My driver was a HUGE problem but I could hit fairly straight off the tee with a 3 wood. 3 wood from the fairway was useless, but I could hit a fairly respectable 5 iron. I could NOT hit an approach wedge but somehow I came across the "chipper" that I could use very consistently. I had a slight fade with it on longer shots, but I adjusted for playing that. I just had to make sure I put myself into the best position to run a low pitch and run up to and onto the green. That meant NO bunker or water carries, etc.. But, once I knew what I had to do, I made it happen. The putting has not really been a problem for me so I knew that if I could GET IT ON THE GREEN, the rest was good. I continued to work on the driver and wedges off course and didn't really use them until I got better with them. Anyway, this 3 wood, 5 iron, chipper combo got me into the 90's. Eventually when the other clubs came around I actually got down into the 80's.

Broke 100 for the first time this weekend! what help me was playing comfortable shots instead of going for broke on longer holes, I also had a stretch of bad holes in a row at the start of the back 9 (triple, quad, triple) and after that, I had to really dig down and just pretend like I was starting a whole new round, once i stopped feeling sorry for myself I finished the back nine with mostly bogeys and pars. ended with a 99 but I know I could've had a 95 if I had stayed focused the whole round. these videos have helped me a lot as this is only the 2nd year of my golf career

I can SOOOOOO relate to BDog. I was on the other spectrum of playing golf. I was managing 4-7 rounds per month. But my game management and ball striking was going down hill. From breaking 100 pretty easily to blowing out over 100 more regularly. I had also invested in lessons with our club pro. Which has been a massive help to work out what the hell I was doing wrong. It's been a lot of hard homework at the range. But as in this video, you need to take several steps back and relearn your mind and body. Gary Player stated the biggest fact of golf. CONFIDENCE. Take that away and you will never go forward in this perplexing game. Stripping our amature game back to the basics is the quickest and only effective way to gain confidence and the ability to build our game up again.

I have found that my most reliable clubs are my driver (170-180 carry), 4 iron (160-170 carry), 6 iron (150-150 carry) and then my 7, 8, and 9 irons are becoming more accurate. As I progressed, I am finding myself missing more and more often to the left (right handed). Even my driver has started to evolve into a natural draw. Your channel has been critical in moving my scores into more consistent sub 100. I even posted an 89 on a 5800 yard course last month. Thanks for the content, Matt. Broke the 100 barrier late last season, WotP was major contributing factor. Driver was not being agreeable, so it stayed at home. Freshly fit new irons and wedges bred a new level of confidence, especially on approaches. And taking to heart, "don't do dumb stuff." Once I broke 100, had 6 18 hole rounds in the 90s and 4 9 holers in the 40s. My course is just becoming fully open, (temp greens and rough conditions after a tough winter), the the quest for sub 90 begins...

First time I broke 90 was because I wasn’t keeping score. Not thinking about score and focusing on each individual shot is an absolute game changer broski’s

I have started learning golf from 20th April through an excellent coach, and in parallel started watching random golf videos. During those videos, I can across your channel, and I am so happy that I found you. I immediately stopped watching all other channels. Since then, I have been listening only to my coach (75%) and your channel (25%). And, it is working wonders. After 10 coaching lessons, my coach and I went to play on the course on Sunday late afternoon, when there is no one around. We played 5 holes [10(par 4),11(par 3),12(par 5),15(par 4),16(par 4)]. I shot down these holes in 29 shots :D using only 7,8,9 irons and PW, SW + Putter. I am thrilled by this result. I will be going back to training for 10 more sessions as I am consistently hitting right, and then will go out and play a full course. I will post the score here once I do that. Thank you for inspiring me with your videos.

Oh man! playing 18 holes by walking the whole course is extremely tough!! I played from white tees (5139 yards, par 70) and scored 109. I am so happy with this result as I was dead after 12 holes and continued playing on steam. Without this channel, i would have scored 120+. My immediate goal is now to get under 100, but I also know the part of my game that I need to improve in order to do that. So, few more range practise sessions to get my awful tee shot corrected to a decent level. And then I am confident of breaking 100 in my 2nd golf game.

I broke 90 for the first time last year, by playing with a complete stranger and talking his ear off! He was so interesting that I forgot all about my score, and didn't realise I'd done it until after the round.
Love your mindset, appreciate the content, what a man.

Broke 90 for the first time by playing with my best golfing buddy. Talked through my shots with him, laughed and chatted a lot. Wasn’t even thinking about my score.

I'm not getting better at golf, I'm actually getting worse. Handicap went up to an 18 now... I just can't stop blowing up holes.

I shoot around 100 but have peak rounds at 85-87. No clue why or how. If you end up in Dallas, TX at any point, I promise I'd make for quite the interesting video

Playa, I broke 90 for the first time after 2 years.
    Here’s what helped:
Confidence in chipping takes pressure off approach shots.
Using a favorite club (hybrid for me)
    Read Ben Hogans book
    Play golf, not golf swing

I broke 100 and 90 by playing shots I knew how to play, because I practiced them at the range or on the chipping green. My scores go way up if I start trying to play fancy golf.

I’m breaking into 85 range but would be better to leave the 5 wood to driver at home. I’m try this. 3 hybrid or 6 iron tee shots 3 hybrid and 6 down and I could probably break the cycle. I’m plateaued

What has helped me consistently break 100 several times in succession now besides Tigger’s Bridgestone ball is ‘the way of the playa’. Some Dalai Lama Baus youtuber has taught me how I am to play the course and not let the course play me. Every night before I play, I listen to over 4 hours of his wiseness-ness then go play pumped up on golf zen that day chilled. Plus I carry some of his top quality shiesen merchandise on my bag and person. Zummmmm, wadda Dalai.

Mines not really distance mines dispersion mixed with not getting to practice. That and hitting the ball out of play and not playing to the miss. But cannot get out of my own head. Lost a ball to the right from 100 yards what I do hit the same shot , lose another ball. Then say oh yeah there’s the miss hit another ball and on the green. Your advice works if I just use it

bdog playin just like me - tried to hit the ball too hard, causing the lower half of the body to get infront of the arms and resulting in a big pull hook. then when he sits on the ball and allows his arms to keep in sync with his hips/legs he hits an absolute gorgeous 1 like the 5th shot on hole 8.
hit the range hard and work out the biggest thing to fix and fix that one thing will often up your game so much :)

First break 100 was definitely caused by shift in mentality. I decided to play round so that each hole had 1 extra stroke for par (par 5 --> par6). That meant I did not need to smash my driver into the woods on the right but I could play shorter but more confident shots. Managed to shoot 98 which I was happy with as I have played golf just for 12 months.

10:45, if 7 iron wasn't the limit I would have hit a 4 iron and kept it low. Slight fade into the fairway. I find my 4 is the get out of trouble club in those situations...1/2 swing.

I'm doing this right now, I only play 3 wood (15), 5 hybrid (24), 7 iron (31), 9 iron(40), Gap Wedge(52), Lob Wedge (60), Putter. Less club choices to think about but enough clubs to learn and play good golf. I'm forced to think about the course and sometimes I may have to get creative to learn different shots.

my own experience to break 90 and get scores down was, get it up the fairwar, second shot as long as possible, near the green, the nearer the better, then rely on my short game to pitch close and sink the puts. My shortgame handicap is about 18 better than my long game handicap!!!
