The Soviet RBT-5 rocket artillery tank is probably one of the dumbest tanks in War Thunder. I mean that in a good way. It's not only a lot of fun but also very meta since it is just a BT-5 with torpedos strapped to it. It's also surprisingly cheap for a rare event vehicle, only going for around 60 Gaijin coins.

Fun fact, when first introduced the rockets could depress to shoot at targets up close however people complained it was OP (understandable when you are shooting SturmTiger equivalent rockets at tanks with tinfoil armor played by Newbies), so they nerfed it to have +9 degrees of gun depression.
People were running it in top tier and smashing MBTs

Try the SU 122,it's a Russian TD who is at 2.3, its armor is crazy strong and the tank is very very fast, and its cannon destroys everything

This thing isn't anything like the Sturmtiger, it's actually fun and useful. I didn't see you get shot in the rocket and blown up, and when you lob them randomly across the map, things actually have exposed crew to die to the explosion.
I earned 1 mil recently by playing german 6.0 always opening with the Sturmtiger getting like 3 kills.
Sturm is super good and a lot of fun it’s just not something you can play quickly or recklessly you need to be more methodical
Wasn't the first death from the rockets? Or just normal ammo rack?
The sturmtiger is fun. You can catch people off guard by ambushing them and just blasting them in the face and being frontally impenetrable at an angle or sniping with the range finder
Sturmtigers also can just stay behind a treeline covered in 300 layers of bushes and get kills since they're basically *the* German artillery tank
This is my favorite tank in the whole game. I have the most matches and kills with it.
(Edit): 2:30 The minimum range on level ground is exactly 252 meters. If you fire the rockets forward without adjusting the rangefinder, they will land 250m ahead.

@@Just_A_B3AN Probably around 2000. And I'd say probably 65% of those kills are from the start of the match when people are sitting on the flag capping. The most kills I've gotten with one rocket is 4 on European Village.

The T-35 is my low tier tank of choice. Just a copious amounts of dakka and the guns punch very hard for 1.3.
I personally love the T-35 as much as I have love for the Porsche Tiger, the survivability in 1.3 is crazy (even if you’re a sandbag for half that time) and when you have all cannons facing the same way you feel like a landship
@@NaturalGarethFan unfortunately you can no longer fire both secondary cannons on the same target. Used to be my favorite thing to line up all 3 cannons and just let loose.
The IS-6 is pure stalinium and it’s very fast for a heavy. Without a doubt one of the best premium at Russia’s disposal, you should definitely give it a shot

Is6 at the current state of the game is not that good, I mean, in a downtier or in it's br is pretty good, but even at 7.7 there's too many tanks with heat and better reload than you, and at 8.0 and 8.3 tanks start to have apfsds and missiles, and it costs a lot of ge

@@heliogonzalezsanchez8227 I'd say the IS-6 is the one heavy tank that is the exception to your concern. Pay attention and you can just get out of the way of a problematic target. Your heavy tank turns into a medium tank. Workable situation.

Wow, it really has similar tnt equivalent to the Sturmtiger (130kg compared to 135kg for the Sturmtiger). Didn't think these tank torpedos were THAT big. Also please play the Foch
I recently saw the RBT while playing low tier Sweden , thought to myself "I haven't seen a RBT in a while" and what do you know Spookston makes a video on it.
They’re always a priority target to take out. Definitely haven’t noticed very many of them recently.
19 kills in one life is crazy. I remember the best match I ever had in pure kills was over 20, I think it was 22 but it also took 3 or 4 deaths. I did land an amazingly sweet IL-2 rocket as well, but most of the kills came from a T-50 so it was also low tier and Russian. But the worst part was my team still managed to lose lol. The game just favors APHE so stupidly in my opinion but the 45mm gun is definitely one of the best at low tier. It makes even really mediocre tanks like the T-26 viable.
Honestly I find the Vickers Mk. E perfectly acceptable as well with its 37mm Bofors, but then again I am used to dealing with silly cannons and I play the whole 6-ton lineup far too much in the first place. I don’t get why people say it’s a mediocre tank though.
@@NaturalGarethFan Is that the Finnish tank? The one the Russians copied to make the T-26? Because I too think that's a better tank than the T-26 but it's adequate. It doesn't do anything especially well but it does enough to be viable. The T-26 at least has the benefit of the game's ridiculous modeling of APHE.
And just to clarify, I know the Vickers 6 ton was a British export tank, not a Finnish tank. I just meant in the game it only shows up in the Finnish subtree.

I do this with my buddies a 8.3. I'll be in the 15cm sig and they'll be using squad ping for me to eyeball. It's a fun time.

I have this tank, but rarely use it, but its stupid fun. On Cargo Port, i had capped the A point, and had eyes on a M8 that was across the road near B. So figured i would try and use the rockets. Launched one, hit the building three stories above him, and the splash damage alone killed him. And that was not adjusting the range.
How do you get it?
so, look on the ussr tree. on the right there are golden vehicles(premiums) that you buy using golden eagles(for money) and you should find it there

you should do a colab vid with a few other dudes all with RBT-5s and just go to a captured point and spam rockets at a decided target

I used to have the respawning vehicles/trees/debris quite often. Many games where I was using HE it'd even respawn before I reloaded, making certain shots completely impossible unless I could take it down with my MG (if I had one). That's one of many bugs Gaijin refuses to address and one of the reasons I don't play anymore.
My only complaint with this vehicle is how long the rockets take to reload (but that also goes for rockets in general tbh)

Spookston, i would love to see you play the SU-100Y its one of my favorite premium tank, if you love a huge naval gun strapped on a tank and being able to 1 shot a panther from the upper plate, its great, if you counter the reload.

Hey Spook, you should play the Semovente 75/46 M43. It's a deeply overshadowed italian tank destroyer which can deliver an heavy punch but it's deeply ignored the potential it has.

Kfz. 222, AB 41 or L6/40, AMC.34 YR or FCM.36, and the Strv m/38 or the Pvlvv fm/42). Totes not to make you suffer. Pinkie promise.
You should play the British tier 2 Sarc MKVI 6Pdr. It is very fast ( I call it the Super Awesome Race Car ). It has the British 6 pounder and is very good for 3.3. It goes by no armor best armor and if you get shot in the turret you die no matter what ( 3 crew, 2 in turret). It’s got a .50 cal on top for AA and shredding milk trucks. It’s funny because it recoils a ton, and no matter what will land on its wheels probably to counter the recoil. I also think that the crusader II is fun. It’s I think 2.0ish and is super fast, good fun and I believe ( in a British tank) APHE. it is great for capping points, running along the sides and flanking the enemy.

It's really bad but extremely fun at the same time.
I love playing the Chi-Ha short gun (12cm) cause you can lop the shell across the map like with the RBT-5s rockets
Suggestion: since neither you or Oddbawz change tanks (i.e. die) in matches a lot so you don't normally take out lineups, I was thinking you two could team up for an ultimate GErmoney cancer lineup, Leo 1, M48, Marder 1, Ru251, Wiesel, BMP1, M41 (HEAT bulldog), Ar234, Do335
You should try the tiger1 only using the PZGR shell.

I suggest to play the EBR(1951). Yesterday I had a match with 16 kills, I believe that you would enjoy it.
Try the spj fm43/44, it is an absolute blast, you fire shells with the same explosive Mass as a kv2, but with a lower reload, faster movement, and a lower br
It has one of the fastest reloads of a 150mm gun

Try the chruchill gun carrier. Its exactly the opposite of the kind of tank you lile, being a british heavily armored TD, but at 2.7 its basically invincible when angled and its gun is one if the few things capable or reliably wrecking stuG's and t-34 from the front
I played WT first shortly after the British came out, Stopped years since. I am glad the ol' 3-inch gun carrier is the same as always. I used to call the grind on British low-tier as "metal diet" where you gain points by eating shots and maybe farming assists.

You should try the Crusader III (the one with the 57mm gun) I haven't played it in a while but last time I did I had multiple 10+ kill games because it's actually really good and low tier be like that sometimes

Can't believe after all these updates the engine noises are still borked and Flakpanzers are still missing their crew while some tanks can fire their guns with no crew in them.... Warthunder truly deserves all those negative reviews.

That's why this game needs a proper matchmaking. It's not ok when a new player with a couple of hours in game goes in the same match with a monstrosity who has several thouthands of hours in it. Other than that it's a fun video. Thanks a lot. 👍

i would highly recommend using 2 buttons and mousewheel to set the range for vehicles like this, so for normal shots you can use mouswheel and for the rockets you can use buttons to quickly set it to a rough distance and correct with mousewheel

Spookston for the love of all that is holy, there are KEYBINDS to range the sights! It allows you to smoothly change the range instead of rolling the mouse wheel like a madman. The setting is near the bottom of the controls screen in the tank section.
spookston you should play any british low tier tank with the 2 pounder, but with stock accuracy and shells, it will be fun i promise
You should do a video on all the low tier gremlin tanks, like the puma and the m22 up to prob the Hellcat at, like, 5.7 (Idk, I took a guess here), where they aren't just used as annoying mini tanks, but where they can actually front line lol
Credit where Credit's due, that Stuart at 8:15 knew how to be slippery. You can pen it's front with a pop tart, so it has to move in a way to minimize damage, and it did so. Your aim wasn't bad, he just swung around in directions to have you only kill one of his crew, not all of it. That's actually a pretty good play honestly.

If you want to hit close range targets, drive at the enemy and slam on the brakes, your nose will be forced down and it will solve the depression proplem.
