at my work we have a actual yanmar engine and I got to say it has lasted its worth. It is attached to a compressor that runs a trailer with tanks for oil/coolant changes at generator sites. It does burn oil but I blame that on the lack of maintenance of my co-workers.
I just got mine put in my tractor, which weighs around 1500 pounds and it pulls it awesome!!! Tons of power I love it! I will post a video or two
it's a glow plug, the manifold heater looks like a spring stretched over the intake port.
is it weird that i was getting excited like a kid on christmas watching you unbox the motor lol
dear fearless front, i am going to be building an racing mower soon and i just wanted to say i am a huge fan, do you have any idea what kind of engine i can put in it that pretty cheap but still has power and speed?
This is gonna be the coolest build ever cant wait!
if u put that switch in stop does it stop the injector pump.
Sweet,
Could you do me a favor, could you pull the recall cover off I need to get a look at the flywheel I plan on putting one of those engines in my Craftman GT6000, as you probably know the drivers of the flywheel side of the engine.
Thanks
I can't wait to see the rest of the vids for this engine
mine still runs good after four years, a launtop same as yours. how has yours held up?
sweet engine can't wait to see it up and running
Does any one know roughly how many revolutions per minute the crankshaft does on tick over?
Trying to work out if it’s worth using one of these for a project. And dont want to run it at full pelt constantly.
What kind of shafts on it I just got the same diesel motor on Facebook
the sears is looking awesome great build!!!!!
hey i was wondering if you were selling your tires for the sears the old back tires and uhmm can freakin wait for the tractor to be done im in the middle of rebuilding my racing mower any ideas for good exhaust i would love for it to sound like your murray
do these motors have some sort of charging system built into them to charge up the battery?
Where you've bought it?
Can you give me the link for buy the engine
I would like to build a little tractor like your
Hmmm i wonder if its got a silenoid that works off the switch to shut fuel off or you gonna haveta make a Manuel one
cant wait to see the next romp :D with the Toro and the Murray , i hope you bring
every one like last time.
Was that from newdyne? Thanks
My friend has a yanmar clone on his old sears but he added a turbo man is it grouchy pulls like a tank
Where did you buy this diesel engine
Badass. I can't wait to see it running
same as mine I love it it has so much power and fuel economy is really good to it sounds awesome to.
Man love the video I’m just curious where do I get the one with the starter also? I can’t seem to find it
Will that fit on a mini bike?
Where did you buy it from and how long did it take to get to you
For what can you use these engines?
I know this is a 10 year old video, but what're the chances you have any info on the glow plug? I have one of these engines now but without a glow plug. Seems like I can't find any info on a glow plug that small.
thats the same kinda engine i want to put in my 73 sears nice choice
great Videos, could you share the link to purchase this engine..thanks
About how fast will go with that engine
What is the part number on the starter motor?
Pretty good deal IMO looking foward to seeing it run and hear your opinion if it’s a decent Clone of any Yanmar you should be good
7years later....how fif that little diesel work out? I am looking at purchasing a similar one.
good to hear man, we figured out an easy way to kill it. and yea, you definitely need the compression release to pull start it!
I looked on eBay for that engine and I can't find it?
Hey fearless you really need to run a diesel additive in that, it helps with all diesels more so on small ones, it'll clean your injectors and give it more power and make it start easier!
i have the same sears tractor haven't done an enging swap yet but was wondering why you dint go with the 13hp diesel an went with the 10 thiers not much difference in price I seen the videos it looks plenty strong enough.. this will help me with my build .. keep the videos coming !!
why did you mention no spark plug ? since when diesel using a spark plug ?
What, the Pontiac Fiero?
I have one of those too, currently mounted in a Bolens. It is a clone of the Yanmar L100. You stop it by closing the fuel rack (which you are calling the throttle, and does in fact perform the same function as the throttle on a gasoline engine). I have a few videos of mine running, powering an alternator and other stuff. I need to upload some more videos of it.
Keep us posted as to how well yours works out!
How or what site did you order your engine from?
i just noticed you got your PO box up..cool deal! Your comment on livevideo, I do plan on making a trip up there, i figure id really like to make one of those jamborees..but i need to get a mower ready..but, if MK, RNCG , LPM, and yourself, we would have fleet to ride..
Cool motor! I spy the old Murray tires and what looks to be the Pearless transmission from the Murray... What happened? Did you just swap the tires?
i am thinking of using one on a small band-saw mill .do you like your engine use it a lot ?thanks God less now to find one for sale
Awesome can't wait to see it done
We're did you get your motor from cause I can't find them for $600
Why are the Murray tires outside?
That's one sick motor can't wait to see it the sears
does that have a pcv valve of any sort.
When I gather some money I want to put that in a simplicity or Sears, primarily a Sears, I looked all over eBay and didn't find it. Could you tell me were you bought it, thank you.
for the shut off it either is on the throttle or it can have its own lever to shut the engine down so if you want to you can make a separate shutoff lever and Trisian102100 is right it builds up a lot of compression to make the fuel explode in the cylinder which makes the engine run
Wow! This engine look like good !
link to buy the engine
Did it hold up?
Can't wait for more vid's of this and the sears.
I am Very excited to see this build
We're did u get it at
where did you get that motor?
have you ever thought of doing a mod on how to shut off the fuel electronically, so when you turn off the key the engine shuts off?
Zach's Garage in another video he did shut the gas off and it took a good while to shut off
He ended uo finding out you throttle down low enough it shuts off
What is the torque in this engine?
How has then engine held up over the years? An do you have a model # - Thanks!
cant wait to see it run.
Thank you for sharing. Nice engine!
Yeah, Diesels don't have any spark plug or butterfly valve for the intake because the high compression causes the air to get hot enough to combust when fuel gets injected, and that high compression actually makes them more efficient than gas engines. In trucks and such with diesels, it's an electronic shutoff solenoid (like on newer briggs and kohler engines) that shuts off the engine, but in this case it's the throttle, which is a fuel valve in itself.
looks like a good motor, great deal man cheers
how hot is it up there in main
Did I see the old Murray tires in the back ground?
NIIIIIICCCCCCCEEEEEE. That is an awesome machine. Many thanks for sharing. I like a lot.
Do you live in the us if you do How did you get one ?
Well played Fearless, well played. B-)
I have that engine! Bought it for my mini loader, and now I need to do all Electric connections. But I did not get any extra cables or key switch!
So where can i by that cables?
We do not have EBay in Sweden!
Thanks!!
Just a Swede !! eBay exists in Sweden what are talking about?
Looks awesome. Something I've wondered, do you need to stabilize diesel? Like are they putting ethanol in it? My guess is no but I'm not sure. That thing will be sweet!!!
Appearantly Diesel fuel is hygroscopic, and takes on moisture with time. For storage, adding a petroleum-based water emulsifier and lubricant helps maintain its freshness.
Awesome, something I've been waiting to do for a long time is get a diesel motor for a tractor build. Pretty cheap to for a diesel.
Is a Stiga garden 8hp Fast? please answer :)
cool looks like it will be a good motor for what you are doing.
3" stack?
THANK YOU VERY KIND PERSON! you are much appreciated by me for being on my side!
The injection pressure on these little industrial diesels is not 25 psi as you stated, but usually around 100 bar, or close to 1500 psi!
I doubt that
mac mckee You may doubt it, but you only have to check in the manual to know that it's a fact. No diesel pump could possibly even open the injector nozzle at 25 or 250 psi. I have this very diesel engine type mounted in my motorbike, & I assure you the injection pressure is 1500 psi. In modern common rail diesel cars, the very best injection systems are now up to over 2000 bar: 30,000 psi.
***** You misread the comment, Paul. Mac wasn't stating that the compression pressure was 25 psi, but the injection pressure.
On these chinese clone diesels, depending on the manufacturer & model, the compression ratio is usually given as between 18:1 = 265 psi, & 21:1 = 309 psi.
But the injection pressure is normally fairly standard at 100 bar; = 1470 - 1500 psi.
***** True enough.
I have two of these two of these engines. The one on my woodsplitter is going on to it's 7th year now for my firewood business. It runs 7 to 8 hours a day 5 days a week with no problems. The other on I found in Uncle Henry's for dirt cheap, because the guy didn't know how to start it. He never primed the injector so it wasn't able to pick up the fuel. I got it home and it fired up on the fourth pull so now it is running my wood conveyor.
A diesel lawn mower? Now that's cool!
How can I use this to power a boat?
Nice.
You're correct that to kill a diesel you kill the fuel supply. In a lot of older trucks you can turn the key off and pull it out and it'll keep running until you pull out the kill lever. (Like my Mog, and the older Internationals we use at work) Can't wait to see it in the Sears.
Where did you buy it? cheapest i cant find them now is $800.
Can I put this on a mini bike?
would look cool if you did a Weather flap for upright exhaust if your going to run is strait up.
ah I want to know what you put on you need to make a update for it now
Anyway to make these bad boys quieter?
Yes, you did!
Surprise! Lol this video is filled with hidden Easter eggs!
do you have a link for it on eBay
RC Nation2015 type in sigma 10 hp diesel should come up but they are out of stock
They are also yellow and now 700 the red one he has theu quite selling from launtop
chevy celebrity , beretta, corsica, oldsmobile ? I cant remember my grandpa's car just about every front wheel drive v6 with a transaxle and rack and pinion steering I have had to take the rear motor mount loose and drop the engine down and probably lots of other cars I haven't worked on lol
Note to Todd... How to open a big, heavy package.
While sealed, turn it upside down. Open the bottom, fold back the flaps. Roll the box right side up and lift the box off the contents.
finaly a new vid
fucking awsome engine Fearless! must be great for romping!
Cool you should do an exhaust like the lifted mower but as a dual exhaust
You should gear it really low and be able to plow with it in the winter but still be able to mud it during the summer, the diesel will have alot of torque to plow with and will probably be funner then the snow blower. But it does need one thing...a turbo:D
I use radiator hose to connect the exhaust when using stacks so if I roll it, I don't crack the casting
It doesn't exist on eBay!!
do you know how much compression these things create? with more compression equals more suction. i will give you a hint: the compression in the combustion chamber on a diesel engine replaces the spark plug on a gas engine.
How much is it brother ? I need a one.
