  • If you’re ready and want to add some additional strengthening to your rehab/ training regiment, adding a weighted vest can be an easy and great option to push yourself to the next level. Always proceed with caution, and have fun with it. It’s intense!

      I do private sessions in person or virtually, depending on where you are located. If you’d like to explore that option, please feel free to email me 🙏

    Cool. I have a weighted vest that's been on my shopping list on Amazon for a while now. I might just purchase it and wear it to my personal training sessions. My arm is still flexed, but loosens up after workouts, still working on it. I will be trying acupuncture next month.

    Get it done! Found your channel about 4 months into recovery. Definitely mounted pull up bar in garage (which was challenging in itself) I appreciate a fellow “hold my beer” attitude when it comes to any naysayers. Stay the course. “Caffeinate, hydrate and motivate!”

    Hi Kevin, you’re doing great! Are there any “conferences” in Southern California that survivors can attend?

      @@bellimal. I would contact UCI Medical Center, as they are on the forefront of stroke, rehab, and research. They also host events from time to time. 👍

    Kevin, did you have dizziness after your stroke?

    • @kevingocke
      @kevingocke  6 днів тому +1

      @@penelopecowie7302 yes I experienced dizziness for quite a while because of my visual field cut. Really throws things off when it comes to finding center of balance. That on top of the paralysis made it super challenging to find my center of balance. This is why it is so important to do some level of training every day to recalibrate the brain. Even if it is just going for a walk, just doing anything to move. Your body is important. Keep up the good fight.💪

    Kevin, did you have seizures after your stroke?

    • @kevingocke
      @kevingocke  6 днів тому

      @@joliesock2654 fortunately, I did not experience any seizures, although common. I was automatically put on seizure medication and I believe I was taking it for almost a year after my stroke. I eventually came off of it and I’ve been in the clear ever since 🙏

    Does the one-sided heaviness go away? My left side is extremely heavy and affects my walking.

    • @kevingocke
      @kevingocke  3 дні тому

      @@areguapiri yes that goes away the more you train. My left side felt like I had sandbags tied to my limbs. I have no left sided heaviness anymore and haven’t for many years.💪
