It's been 3.5 years since I suffered a stroke and I have to say that watching your videos give me hope that one day I'll recover and get back my pre stroke life🤞
Well done! You have spent your 14 years wisely. You are a credit to yourself. It is phenomenal that you are not a psychological 'cripple' and that you are happy, positive and constructive. I am so proud of you. (Genuine not condescending) The enormity of your self will-power is inspiring. Your wife had some belief in you! How many girlfriends would have cut n' run. Continued luck be yours. Best wishes for your future.
I really appreciate that, took me a long time to find out a lot of these findings! Just uploaded a quick video, per your request on one of my many methods to strengthen and regain mobility in my affected left arm and hand. Hope it helps 💪
You're so encouraging. I'm 17 months since my hemorrhagic stroke. I've had 14 seizure setbacks in the past year even though I've been on anti seizure meds. They don't always control brain activity though. It doesn't discourage me. I'm very happy to be alive each and every day. I keep pushing through. Thank you so much for your videos.😀
Thank you for your channel. I was 54 when I had my ischemic stroke. It’s been 2 years and I still have weakness on my right side. This year I started going to the gym and started doing water therapy to improve balance and range of motion. I’ve also increased my walking distances to 1-2 miles per day. I decided that if I don’t take control of my recovery, I will not get better. But I also have to remind myself that recovery is a marathon.
You are amazing, I ad your strength and perseverance. I HAVE THAT AS WELL , I had my stroke 14years ago it was severe. Never will I stop trying getting back like have done Keep going and please keep your videos coming on here, God bless 🙌 you Kevin 🙏 😊 ❤️
I'm 5 weeks post-stroke and I find your videos very encouraging. You're right that you have to take charge and get addicted to your recovery. I was just released from the acute rehab facility, where I lived for three weeks, and am now doing outpatient. But even with outpatient therapy, I have been doing multiple sessions per day at home on my own to keep it going. The recovery that I've made even in this short time is amazing, and I take joy in even the smallest progress as a victory. Please keep doing more videos, you're a great encouragement to us!
I am at year 3 on 9/1. I never give up. I bought heel cup pedals for my recumbant. I am working towards clips and will get there. It took me a month of trying to get my foot on the pedal, and now it is second nature..Neuro-normals have no clue how hard this is nor could they could conceive it. I always dreamt of climbing K2 now that seems like a nice vacation…
@@rccollins8160 💯 one of the biggest challenges was clipping in my affected left foot. And you’re right, now it’s like second nature. Keep up the great work 💪
if worse came to worst and your weak leg got stuck in clip, can you just open the straps on shoes and lift ur foot out of shoe? did peloten help you transition from cane to no cane? what did it help w regards to gait? thx Kevin. i tried to get on the bike at planet fitness but i couldnt do it. i am 2 years out and very dedicated. i lost left side. slow progress with some setbacks but i remember wat is motivating me.
@@kevingocke wow i wish i would have bought this instead of treadmill. i hyperextend so dont want to ruin knee. i had major setback last may fell broke hip. everything reverted a bit but fightng the good fight i really appreciate ur videos. i have no support. my goal is to have rescue horse(s) again but have to get strong i am so excited to see symmetry in your muscles. i also had sublux in shoulder. still weak but can raise,
So awesome you’ve come this far! I had my stroke after a perfect physical 2 weeks before didn’t need to see the doctor keep doing what I was doing. I got Covid and just got negative was a cosmetologist. I went back to work never got over the sinus infection with Covid. I checked in the hospital for emergency surgery had the stroke in the bed. No pain at all just had my right side paralyzed. I’ve been able to walk with a limp I try to use my right hand as much as possible because I’m right handed. It helped I guess with recovery that I was use to doing every thing with my right side. The PT had me lay on the ground trying to to get up. I couldn’t do it with my left side because I’m a right side person. I was able to get myself up with my no feeling knee and leg. I can’t cut up vegetables or anything but try to do what I can. Practicing writing my name. I was unable to move for 2 months. Blessed I’m trying to do better everyday. My brain gets really tired. I get out of breath easy too.
My suggestion is to really lean into your nutrition, focus in on a high protein diet and keep training as much as possible. Get consistent sleep as much as possible, by going to bed and waking up at the same time every day. You will continue to improve, recovery never stops. Everything is therapy.💪
