You got ripped. I bought mine off ebay for like $20. Had it for years and apart from being a little on the bulky side, it's absolutely fantastic.
I just purchased this headlamp on Amazon 29$ the brightest headlamp I’ve ever had not sure how durable since I just got it but I’m super impressed and if it is durable I definitely recommend it it’s brighter then most flashlights

u can buy flashlights from Olight @ aliexpress for about half the retail amount (atleast retail over here).. those lights charge via a magnet and are really good for the money.. ( i dont think 50 bucks is too much for a quality product).. I got a rechargable motion sensor headlamp from ali for 4 bucks though.. lamp is fine for night fishing from the rocks.. it even has a charging led on it... i wouldnt want to put a bigg ass lamp like this on my head anyway... if u want big light u just got to pay some more for better leds.... for a headlamp get somthing like a olight hs2
I've got a nitecore NU10 which was great for fishing though the brackets are useless, I've gone to use it a couple times left with 75% and up charge and somehow was completely drained. I recently got the NU30, so far so good. NU10 is a wide beam, NU30 is a spot.
Highly recommend the nitecore tube tied on a cord around your neck, you don't know it is there it is so small, I just stick it in my mouth when doing knots, rebaiting or landing fish. A couple of times I have been out for an afternoon fish and ended up hanging around in the dark a couple hours because I had it.

You can buy better headlamps on Wish for $10 - $15 bucks (+ maybe $4 shipping), including 18650 batteries and all sorts of different chargers. LOL I actually use those for nightly shore fishing at the beach, and I'm pretty impressed by the quality vs price. The only thing I will never use are the chargers that come along with it. No sir, thank you. I barely trust the batteries that come along with it, let alone I would trust them with crappy chargers. LOL
I tend to stick to headlamps for about 3 bucks on ebay. How much light do you really need to fish? The versions I pick up have red light mode or regular white light. I have never encountered water intrusion issues either. Only thing that can be considered a major down fall is that they utilize AAA batteries. Batteries usually last about a month for me with solid use.
I am better off using my blind dog to get me through the night! Lol

Man, I've got a 5 lights, focus and motion sensor version of this headlamp from Aliexpress. I paid something like 13$ or so. It is big, but gives great amount of light! I use it often and after more than a year it still works very fine! I've never regretted buying it. I've recently bought another one, to have a spare. As for the batteries, never buy Chinese flashlight with batteries cause they are 💩. You can buy good 18650 batteries (those green ones) on Aliexpress for 2,5$! They've got 3200-3500 real capacity. I'm not saying that every chinese flashlights are good quality, some of them are real, quite expensive crap, but this kind of headlamps are good choice for cheap price.

about five headlamps just like the one shown in the podcast from Amazon every one of them was bad bad switch bad batteries bad charger I went to their competitor eBay I bought two and they worked right out of the box the batteries were charged right out of the box I left it on charge all night this morning I got up turn them on full blast that was an hour ago they're still full blast so there you go not Amazon

I agree the strobe function can be annoying in the wrong conditions, but when I am out walking my dog at night in the rural area where I live, I love that strobe function to alert oncoming drivers to my presence. Having said that, I don't think I'd be caught dead wearing that monstrosity of a headlamp.

not a fan of those chinese headlamps with the 18650 packs mounted to the strap. in the event one of all of those batts go thermal, there wont be much left of your head. also, those lamps are gonna generate quite a bit of heat.
i have found the cheapAAA or rechargeable pack Petzl hiking headlamps to be more than enough to do some night fishing.
So would short out wading in search of those greyscales in the Valerian waters, not good at all. Might need glove reviews to keep them away.
Guess the strobe might blind and disorient them to make an escape though.

Theses are been sold at boot sales in ireland ,and they are pure rubbish ,I bought one ,but never again. 20 euro it cost .Don't buy thus its crap.
They are very bright but all around garbage.had many problems with mine.

I bought a zonapa rechargable headlamp on amazon I loved it and so did my brother so hey I got him one too.we went out fishing and his main light shorted out then it was fine again the next time he said I smell something burning as we were looking around for a house on fire we couldn't find it then guess what it was his fucking battery pack smoking so be careful of that chinese junk

its chip chinese crap i got one on ebay and did not even have a chance to use it first time i plugged it in to charge the batteries on the van and when i got back the whole battery pack had blown a part one of the batteries blew up thank god i did not have it on my head if you have a death wish this is the country you buy crap from instead of spending some extra money and buy only american genuine products.
