On a personal note. I'm a bi-racial Canadian who was never exposed to Bluegrass as a kid. I was in my late 40's when I was introduced to the music. We have a small BG community here but I play guitar and mandolin for two local groups. I listen to all genres but I'm sure glad I discovered this great music.
Kentucky girl here i live in Florida but will always be Kentucky girl and videos like this feed my soul. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to another great video in the future 😀
@@stationstudios3803 this just came up in my UA-cam feed today. Good stuff!! Is Charlie related to Will by any chance? I remember Will’s son being in a BG band. Maybe it’s just a coincidence.
I'm a big fan and well aware of Roscoe, though I'd categorize him more so as old-time/traditional Kentucky mountain music. Big difference in banjo styles between that old traditional stuff and bluegrass; big enough of a difference at least. That said, perhaps I ought to have mentioned him, or perhaps more aptly Bill, but I was only interviewing folks I knew personally about their own experiences and influences.
@charlieoverman9540 yeah, true. I do prefer the old style mountain music personally. Great music all around though. Good video, I wasn't putting it down at all. I just hadn't seen many videos on the "high lonesome sound", and roscoe was dubbed the high lonesome sound guru practically.
Love the shout-out for SW VA. My dad was born and raised in Nora, VA near Dante. My aunt is a Stanley.

It baffles me that there’s not more views on this video
Thank you. Charlie did an amazing job on this. Feel free to share it! :-)
