That fact that some Iranians still think we are close relatives to people of Germany is in fact rooted in pre-WW2 mindsets of Europeans. It was in fact Germans who first used the very Iranian term "Aryan" for calling themselves. The term Aryan was first mentioned in Stone Scripts of Persian Achaemenids as "Arya". German orientalists took advantage of Iranian heritage to embolden their own civilization.
@@abcdxyz3716 It is not 100% nonsense. it has some roots in the fact that the language of Iranian people is relative to European languages as if at one point in history these nations used to be one. Reza Shah was not alone in decision-making. the ruling body of Persia made a secret agreement with Nazi Germany to return Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia back to Iran after Germany defeated USSR.
@@abcdxyz3716 It seems that people with little knowledge of a subject are the ones who argue the most--i.e., you! Before spamming these discussions, you need to read about the early settlement of Iranic groups in the Zagros mountains and their migrations to Central Asia and from there to Europe and then back to Central Asia and eventually back to Iran. If you look at the genetic composition of Europeans, you see that the Iranic gene is still present (not Aryan, but Iranic). So, it's obvious why "some" people in Europe may have an Iranic appearance.

Pakistanis still use words like "Khuda hafiz" and "Shab b kahir" and thousands more which are Farsi words. I lived in Scandinavian Europe for about 21 years. I met different nationalities such as Southern Europe, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, Indian, Pakistani, Iraqi, Egyptian, Algerian, Moroccan, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Afghani, Tajik. As someone educated in the West, I must say that Iranians are almost special people and are less like others, but if we want to consider the closest resemblance to Iranians in terms of appearance and culture. Turks, Azerbaijanis, Armenians, and Tajiks are very similar to Iranians. If we want to compare Iranian people with Europeans, Iranians are similar to a part of the people of Greece, southern Italy and Malta, Cyprus, a part of the people of Spain and Portugal, Romania, Bulgaria and Albania. Of course, Iranians themselves have different faces and even a different culture within Iran, and my opinion is more inclusive of the majority of Iran's regions, not all of Iran. For example, in the southeast of Iran, the Balochs of Iran have similarities with Pakistanis and Afghans, but they are more like Iranians themselves. And in a part of Khuzestan in Iran, people are similar to the Arabs of southern Iraq. At the same time, in the northeast, in Gonbad Kabus, part of Iranian people are similar to Turkmens. But the faces of most Iranians from Maragheh and Tabriz and Urmia to Mashhad and Astara, Gorgan, Rasht and to Tehran and Isfahan, Yazd, Arak, Semnan, Qom, are very similar to each other. In general, Iranians have similarities in appearance with Arabs, but in terms of culture and tradition, they are very different from the neighboring Arab countries, and perhaps it can be said that they have no cultural similarities with them except in some religious issues. In general, Iranians have no physical and cultural similarities with the Indian peninsula and Pakistanis, but in terms of appearance, a part of the Kashmir region and northern Pakistan are similar in appearance but not culturally with the people of Iran. The only country that has the most linguistic, cultural, and to some extent appearance similarities with the majority of the people of Iran, especially the Khorasan region, are the people of Tajikistan, Samarkand and Bukhara in the country of Uzbekistan, which can be called Iranian in a way. Afghans are the second people who are closer to Iranian people than other countries in terms of language, appearance, and history.
My neighbours are Iranian, some of the family look Greek, others look like Arabs. Iranians are very nice, I’m Macedonian and seem to almost blend in with them (my hair is dark and brown eyes)
I love Iranian culture, they kept the Aryan “culture” alive
Excellent description of Iranians , diverse rich culture & diverse in look and coloring depending on where they are in Iran , my wife was Persian and looked white & European .
😂😂😂
Kurds persians azeris afgans a bit indians are similar in fact

Iran is a unique country because of it’s location and its Origins, culturally its similar to central asian countries, because they always been one nation through out the history, they are of similar roots but also united many times under several empiers and dynasties. If we talk about religion, its definitly more like Turkey, Pakistan, Lebanon because the majority of the people are muslims like in those countries, with a minority of dozens of other religions.
but at the end of the day i think the entire world is adopting more to one united culture ,specially with the expansion of the Internet and technology people are becoming closer to eachother, i see alot of Western or East Asian habits Iranians have adapted during the last decade which never been presented in the country, at the same time i find many Iranian like habits in other countries, which i never expected to exist but we are seeing them more and more.
Iran should be similar to other countries who had similar destiny. countries like Greece, Armenia, Israel, Afghanistan, Pakistan. there is something very similar in these countries and its how the native people managed to succesfully pass their ancestral cultures and languages through out the history despite going through alot of calamities & changes, so putting a side looks, religion, politics, i think the best way to look at similarities would be about what was the destiny of the country similar to.
lol definitely not greece and israel
israel???? lol
I can understand why theyd feel close to Italians, since Rome vs Persia was a big thing for millenia. Which would also make sense why Greece and Armenia identify closer than Iranians and Armenians for example, as Greeks were Romans, not necessarily Greek, and Armenians were Armenians but vassals or conquered until the Ottomans came. Therefore Armenians and Greeks grew closer to each other and didnt grow closer to Iranians.
But yea, we have tons of similarities.
@@janki3353 yes i agree, but still i belive Armenians are connected to Iranians culturally ,while to the greeks through religion. Mithraism was a religion which was founded in wester Iran and was highly adapted by Armenians, Greeks and Romans before Christianity was a thing which means there is alot of Iranian influence on all those cultures specially to Armenia because it often was included persian empires and one of the most important provinces militarily and politically, we learned that alot of persian kings had Armenian mothers, also alot of Armenian Kings had Persian mothers which means the persian empires always had a close tie with Armenia. all though i think greek was definitely the most dominant of all those when it comes to Literature and engineering, you wouldn’t be surprised to hear about Hercules in Iran since it has become part of Iranian habit to relate strenght of someone to Hercules (by Iranian i mean all Iranian speaking people icluding Uzbekistan, Afghanistan & Tajikistan)
@@topgears7775 I agree, and up until the Ottoman Empire that connection was very strong. I do believe that the Ottomans (and by extension Turks) and Russians, being the only 2 non Persian/Roman empires to maintain a hold in anatolia and the caucases seperately (arabs had all of persian and a large chunk of anatolia so they dont fall into this catagory) really seperated us three groups and did not allow for that connection to continue as strongly. Which is why nowadays the three peoples are connected, but nowhere near as strongly as in the past.
As a child I lived in Bushehr (near Shiraz) for four years until we left in 1979. I don't have many memories but I do remember that the people were very friendly, the country was clean and the food was great. The bread smelled amazing when it was fresh.
Iran is very friendly clean and food test is same

The ancient Iranian religion of Zoroastrianism worshipped fire as Hindus of today. Agni is the first god mentioned in the first religious literature of the world Rig Ved, although there are other gods mentioned in vedas as well as we Hindus are polytheist and not monotheist. I think Ancient Iranians were part of the Hindu pantheon like the Buddhist of today.
