I saw this performance live on TV. Fall in love with that Song. Just today, 32 years later, i'm figuring out that it was a joke. A comercial theme. Lol. Epic
Like many others have said before. This is one of those weird things that make life seem eerily connected and you feel less alone. I heard this song as a kid in the mid 80s. I could have hummed it my whole life up until now. Then I'm exposed to Faith No More in the 90s as a teen...dig their sound. What on earth would suggest to me that these worlds would ever combine like this? And yet --here I am.
Sweet dreams you can't resist, N-E-S-T-L-E-S. Nestles makes the very best, N-E-S-T-L-E-S. Creamy whites, dreamy whites NESTLES makes the very best, N-E-S-T-L-E-S. Sweet dreams, you ca-a-a-n't resist...
this commercial song has been in my head for years - just found out that faith no more did this song. my new best friend is the lead singer for faith no more. my goodness
Saw them live at the Hollywood Sportatorium in South Florida. I remember looking at my best friend and saying, I know I'm high but is this the Nestles crunch commercial? Good time, good times 😂
I remember seeing a clip of this when I was a kid during an interview with Mike Patton after they blew up with their song "Epic" on MTV. Wow, that was ages ago.
They did this song at One Step Beyond like a million years ago. They opened for Fishbone I do believe. Blew my young mind. Never looked at Nestle quite the same after that.
Those of you keeping score at home, this song has 2 versions. One sang by Mike Patton, the other by Sophie B. Hawkins. They were the 2 best commercials of the year. Maybe even the decade. I wish Mike sang like this more often. His voice rocks.
But that's just it...no one except Jim Martin wanted any of that. They had a chance for fame, then released "Angel Dust". They clearly valued musical integrity over anything else. I admire the hell out of that.
I loved when Mike Patton would break into random stuff like this during a concert. I've got the Live at Braxton concert on VHS where he did this same commercial. Too cool. I wonder if Nestles ever paid him a dime for his name dropping? :3
SOY TAN FELIZ . ALGUIEN TIENE EL LINK DEL COMERCIAL EN ESPAÑOL CON LA MISMA CANCIÓN???
@Fetrey If they hadn't fired Jim Martin and Mike Patton had concentrated on FNM rather then dicking around with 50 other bands, I believe today, 20 years after their commercial success, there would be a Church of Faith No More and statues in Washington of the band and FNM shrines in peoples homes. Instead I had to endure watching them go through the motions performing in Hollywood about a year ago. So disappointing.
@Fetrey i agree, they are great live, mike patton was always burping or farting over the mic or just being a goof on stage. i heard another live version of nestles where he starts laughing while hes singing it.
I somewhat agree. But the question is, does commercial success automatically mean giving up musical integrity? In FNM's case,I do not believe so.They could have made whatever music they wanted and stuck to their principles, and they would still have had huge success.I hear what you're saying, it's something Cobain struggled with, but I think Metallica is an example of a band that kept their musical integrity and also had huge commercial success.I think breakup was more a ego thing w/ Jim & Mike.
Hey, I was in that commercial! First guy! Never knew the artists who produced the haunting music! Great trivia!
Alpine White
My favorite commercial of all time! Good job sir.
You look really pretty in that commercial. Nice face😃
Still handsome, u are! U hadn't aged a bit! I was 8 when your commercial came out, now I'm 40! Where did the time go!
Continued Success, TM... I hope in becoming an paid endorse of product like yourself With royalties. You set the bar high
This is what they started their set with in Dallas around '88 when they opened for Oingo Boingo and The Cure. The crowd went wild.
I've been singing this for 22 years and no response from the peanut gallery...then I found you people...I'm home
The thing I've always loved about FNM (other than their kickass music) is their sense-of-humor. Never took themselves too seriously.

Roddys keys make me want to cry to this forgotten Nestles jingle lol.

I can’t tell if I want a Nestle’s, or if I’m mentally scarred for life.
This would be a great song for the Church of Scientology.

When a song is just that good

Agreed, I hated the album when it came out, but it grew on me over the years.
Nestle makes the very best
Everytime I hear this, it gets stuck in my head, and just start belting it out randomly when I can barely contain myself.
You caaaan't resist
I was THEEERRRREEEEEEE - 1991, I was 18 y.o.!!!! fuck I just cried, I'm old
This was a Brazilian concert. Mike was opposing the nestle company them taking over natural water resources
I loved when Mike Patton would break into random stuff like this during a concert. I've got the Live at Braxton concert on VHS where he did this same commercial. Too cool. I wonder if Nestles ever paid him a dime for his name dropping? :3
Faith No More and Mike Patton bless me.
They can take a simple commercial jingle and make it literally epic.
Yes
Patton is the best frontman of the world!!!!
HA!!!
I do this at acoustic shows just BECAUSE of this!!!
Great post!!!
Come to Brazil again!!! 🇧🇷
this would sound like a great bedtime song for either child or adult. seriously.
Enjoying and loving Faith No More bands for long-time, it echoes in Grand Canyon on good days or worst days...
Selling out never sounded this awesome!
Define sell-out in regards to Faith No More?
They are more underrated then you think
Omg, I just heard about them covering this jingle. These guys have always been so effed in the head 😂😅😂 🍫 music 🎶 🎵 🎤 🍫
I love that bass
sweetest dreams
Patton = God
Awesome 👏
Interesting... Mike is crossing oneself by Orthodox Christian tradition here 😊❣️ ☦️
Super.inteligentes!!!!
Can't sleep because I was searching whom sang this song!!
Awesomeness!
Awesome!!!!
This is ny erd favorite. I'm saving myself for number 5
Nestle's should have hired them to do their commercials...

@Fetrey

0:40 Sign of the Cross
THAT'S WHAT'S UP!!!
I like how he did a little hail marry before he committed an act of commercial selling out.
👏👏👏
yes, Mike Patton
Patton rolles
I guess this song is up there with "I like to teach the world to sing" and "2 all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions..."
vem p Brasil
hehe, very true.

he sounds just like Manson!
BUS WAY!!!
One person doesn't like chocolate!

HAHAHA... comercial da Nestlé!
Would've been awesome if they'd done this on the You Fat B**stards! concert video too!
Probably couldn't due to legal issues. (With Nestle and the like...)
@SweeetCherryPieAyAy because faith no more fans love it and they get it. great shit!
Only time I saw them they did this. I was like wth. Wtf. What?
it's the guy singing the song - the lead singer of ftn! (notice the same outfit, same face and same hair style) same person
Internet fight!
YES WAY!
😔😔😪😪😪💔
@seanj666 I think Patton sang it on the commercial.
Well would you look at that.. Creamy white in my jeans for now knowing this exists
Can I share this?
@Fetrey i agree, they are great live, mike patton was always burping or farting over the mic or just being a goof on stage. i heard another live version of nestles where he starts laughing while hes singing it.
This would be great in a horror film, while someone is getting hacked to pieces.

don't let it happen again! or else! or else what!
Traductus5972 must be related to Chuck Mosley.
sub way
but what's his name!!
no way :p
No wonder where Brandon Boyd got his vocal chops from.
no way
i wanna eat chocolate :(
xD
'Metallica' and 'musical integrity' should appear in the same sentence only when separated by 'have no' or 'gave up all'.
Musical gave up all Integrity Metallica ?
who is the guy at 20seconds?
Lol....genuine weirdos. ❤
I’m confused
LOL
most dont realize that FNM produced many movie sound tracks. Place behind the pines was a newer sound track.
Mike Patton not Faith No More.
Mike is the one from this band who has done that sound track and Solitude of Prime Numbers
Is it just me or does this sound eerily similar to the opening melody of Roxette's "Listen to Your Heart?"
Lol, no argument here. A very bad example as I personally tuned out after And Justice for All. A better example, I think, would be Rush.
