- / foundfootagefestival We wanted to know who wrote the unforgettable Nestle Alpine White jingle that's been stuck in our head since 1986. Our own VHS detective, George Pasles, tracked down the maestro, Lloyd Landesman, to get the scoop.

I'm the first guy in the commercial! I was a model for Elite in New York City. The commercial was shot January 1986 in a cold studio on the upper west side. Mr. Landesman is a genius! Does he still write jingles in addition to his progressive music?
@Todd McDurmont Now and if only Lloyd Landesman Sweet Dreams commercial jingle for NESTLES can get a CD release!
@@SuperMarioBrosIII Can I be on the album cover? 🤣
@@ToddMcDurmont Of course!
@@SuperMarioBrosIII Okay! LOL! 🤣
Can't tell you how excited I used to get when that commercial would come on. My little girl self had the biggest crush on you lol
I still love the song and the commercials were visually beautiful.
I'm 45 now and remember that commercial and the jingle so well from my childhood. Loved it!

CREAMY WHHHHIIIIITTEE , DREAMY WHHHIIITTEEE!!!!....This man is a legend just off that commercial!
Went hard AF for no reason
Don’t forget the woman in the background singing Woooo ahhhhhh!!
I love how we all have this shared experience- that the nestle Alpine White commercial series affected us somehow in a profound way.
This music from Nestle's touched me so much I found staff paper and wrote out the singing part for flute. I brought it to John Carroll University in Cleveland. Had 3 female flute players play it while I played the piano part. They loved it. I still do. Thank you!
That’s awesome!! I’d love to see a video of that or at least audio!
That is a lovely memory.
If you have the Video that would be great
Thank you so much for this!
Faith No More covered this song the first time ever they played in my third world country, Chile, back in 1991.
It's great to know the actual songwriter!
A testament to the power of music. The fact that I am 30+ years later. Walk on humming that song. Amazing Work thank you for this.

This commercial is a masterpiece. An instant legend. Immortal. It literally still loops in my head completely on its own with no warning and I can see the commercial visuals while it's happening. Thank all of you involved with creating it, because it's such a great memory of my teenage experience.

Lloyd, Sweet Dreams is your Magnum Opus, sir. Thanks again from my 80s childhood.
So magnus opus no longer translates to giant work? It's a 30 second tune at most.
I grew up in the 80’s I still remember this song and still can’t get it out of my head & still have it on repeat 🔁 ❤🎉😎
There's even an hour-long loop version available here, on UA-cam!
This was awesome. That jungle has stayed with me. I was a kid and here it is, still there. Expert reporting George! I appreciate your hard work!!
This commercial and especially this jingle are a big part of my teenage years and stay daily in my subconscious. Thank you for this.
Same here but as part of my childhood. So glad our generation has this kind of shared experience
The Nestle Sweat Dreams jingle is one of those rare pieces of music that stuck with me over the years along with "Welcome, to Miller Time, it's all yours and it's all mine. Bring your thirsty self right here..." Congratulations to Mr. Landesman for writing such an impressionable 30 second piece of music. Apparently I wasn't the only one haunted by this jingle.
Now here's a mystery, who wrote the Debeers Diamonds are forever New Age piano jingle from 1988?
I was just thinking that behind this commercial all time is the 1978 Miller High Life Christmas campaign commercial that they'd play during the NFL playoffs. I finally live in a little town just like that and I'd been looking for it all my life. Some one of a kind commercials just imprint something on your psyche and this one and that one are my top two.
I really hope this becomes a recurring series, this is fantastic!
I was obsessed with the Nestle Alpine White song! I would still love to get pristine audio of this song! Lyrics be darned, it is a beautiful song! Even Faith No More did a cover!
Mike Patton singing this is PHENOMENAL. What a voice!
This is still my favorite commercial jingle of all time. The background information makes it even better, and learning about some of Mr. Landesman's other work was highly interesting. 👍
LOVE THIS DAMN COMMERCIAL . The 80's were wild. This was the most dramatic thing ever. LOL Cracks me up everytime.

That has always been my favorite commercial jingle since 86. And one of my favorite songs in general. Always sung it through the years. To be exact, the first alpine white commercial
This is great! More please, thanks George and thanks FFF. Lots of love from upstate!
Omg this post is everything I was looking for and much much more

My band in the 80’s would cover this as an encore. Our keyboard player found the right patch for it.
I was 25 years old when the Nestlé song came out in 1986 thanks for the memories!
My comfort song and commercial
Who is here because of the Faith No More cover of this?
It’s truly timeless! 👍
I was a Kid when this came out in the 80's and I've been looking all over for this like to the point my brain was bleeding cause I couldn't find it. Ty for this I
This interview was great to watch and quite interesting
I was 15 when this came out, and this jingle stuck with me.
I was born in late 1982 and remember this well! 😂
The man is a living legend!
Really wish they'd bring back Alpine White...
I absolutely adore the Alpine White jingle and commercials. Wish it were a full song.
Weren't they crazy to not release one for it? It's like doing an interview with guy who wrote it and making it under 5 minutes long. Missed opportunities haunt this song.
This could've been an hour long. Wonderful reportage
Just like not turning the jingle into a single release, this interview was yet another missed opportunity based on a great tune.
I was just listening to the commercials just now 😂
Yes it was Lloyd Landesman not Faith No More whom wrote, composed and sings this timeless commercial Jingle for NESTLES Sweet Dreams Commercial. Faith No More only covered the song in their live performances hence the confusion.
Man, this is so cool! That's one of my favorite jingles of all time. It's a good thing the Alpine White bars were tasty enough to live up the hype lol
That jingle is included in this mashup Nestle ran back in the early 90s (ua-cam.com/video/PJSQCvNnOjQ/v-deo.html), and I remember loving that one, too!
Another great catchy song from 80's commercials was "King of the Castle" for Trump Castle Hotel and Casino from 1985.
Also "These are the Moments" for Kodak
awesome interview that was fun. amazing to know this guy did CBS football AND every kiss begins with Kay, which is legendary.
Nestle needs to bring back the candy bars
Why not purchase the copyright from Nestlé and make a 4:00 long version of it and of course ad more lyrics to it. That 30 second jingle would be good as gold even the younger generation would love it.
Really enjoyed the video, I love these guys getting the exposure they richly deserve. One question though; why was the extra "S" sung in the commercial during the spelling of the name if he is clearly not singing "Nestle's makes the very best"? It's been a mystery to me for 30 years.
I'm trying to find this out too. Some would say mandela effect
this is my ringtone i love it
I want your ringtone!!
I just saw this commercial again for the first time since it was on and I was a kid and yeah, total sense memory. Funny that the rest of his resume is much more well known, but this hits different
This is awesome 😮

I remember this as a pup. Faith No More covered this live. Lol
1:55 about the nestle commercial.
It's almost too good to be a mere jingle. It ought to be a song!

The jingle to the Nestlé alpine white candy bar made me depressed. I dunno if I ate the white chocolate.
Super cool!
I demand a full creamy white song
Vaporwave inspiration 💗
Great vid
As a teen, the Nestlé white chocolate commercial with the horses and cabin in the snow was THE commercial I looked forward to interrupting the show and seducing my senses
Guy on right looks like Jordan Schlansky
Omg the best❤❤❤❤❤
Djs sneak this in ther sets.
That should have been made into a 3 minute song, Hit song.

Some said Limahl sang this song
It sounds like he was listening to STING.
speaking of mysteries, why does "nestle" have an "s" on the end when the brand is spelled in the lyrics? is it meant to be possessive?
Cause the want to sell more than one. 🙂
should have asked him if he realized Jay Z stole his melody
The female that holds that heavenly "WWWHHHIIIIITTEEE" 🎵🎶🎼note is better than Celine Dion, Mariah Carey etc...
Was the girl in the white hood Phoebe Cates?
New Order let Sunkist use Blue Monday, which I just find completely hilarious.
So he sang the jingle?
Too bad this interview didn't go for 20-40 minutes, clearly the man has stories to tell other than the headlines.
You didn't ask one fo the most important Question!!!! what are the Lyrics???? or rather is there really an extra "S" at the end of NESTLE or is it saying "is" : Nestle makes the very best N-E-S-T-L-E is....
...BRUH!!!!!!! 😵😵😵😵
