- Akin to Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow, you must show your Isshu League badges to officials one at a time before they let you pass to the next checkpoint. In this game, though, the area behind each gate is representative of the type of Gym that is on it's doors. After passing the Legend Badge checkpoint, you will have access to Victory Road and you may Fly to it at any time.
Why can't everyone Pokemon's Victory Road be like this? That build up is just too amazing.
Yeah. Galar didn’t even get one and that was the most disappointing part of a Pokémon game I’ve seen to date

If every Pokémon game got one like this then it wouldn’t be special anymore and would lose it’s charm.
@@groudonor12 Well, Alola got Basically 2 of Them, being the Vast Poni Canyon and Mount Lanakila.
@@groudonor12 Mount Lanakila is the “Victory Road”. It’s called that multiple times in-game.
Man I wish they had themed rooms again. It always stuck in my memory, even though it was just a small part of the game. The flying one genuinely made me gasp as a kid
everything about this gen was just. so unique from any other main series pokemon game, imo. i loved this game when it came out and it has remained my absolute favorite main series pokemon game for the last 9 years or so. i liked the games after this, but ive never been as invested in any of them, save for maybe alola, and even then alola is nowhere near as memorable to me personally
@@IsisNiko i played only two pokemon games, this was the second so it stuck hard. it's advanced compared to heartgold

Plot Twist: They tested the jet badge Gate with Flying-Type Pokémon.
Music always gives me goosebumps. That build up is really intense.
I loved the way they checked your gym badges with giant doors using the badges as keys to open them instead of the typical npc in front of the victory road counting them
Always loved how the music builds up here. Pretty amazing stuff :).
ONE OF THE BEST THINGS IN GEN V
A river, grass and torches for the Trio badge, A hedge maze for the Basic Badge, a giant bug for the Insect Badge, electric generators for the Bolt Badge, precious minerals for the Quake Badge, a chasm blowing wind for the Jet Badge, an Ice puzzle for the Icicle Badge and Dragon Heads for the Legend Badge.
Wow never noticed the basic type of fire water and grass before. Nice.
I wish more Pokémon games could have a concept like this.
BONUS POINTS If they made the entrance into the Victory Road available from the beginning of the game.
BUT THE ACTUAL Victory Road was blocked until you finally had the 8 badges

I ask 'cause I've never played those games or maybe don't remember them all that well, but where would your progress be halted based on your number of Badges? Would it be between Viridian City and Victory Road, or in the cave itself?🤔
Gotta love the themed areas. My favorite is the legend area because the dragons make it look epic!
Man, BW1&2 really had some serious heart put into them. No game since had this level of effort put into them - one exception is Legends: Arceus.
If GAME FREAK just learned to take more time with the games, we could have more clever moments like this, better and more memorable NPC teams and not cut out so much Pokemon from the roster.
Because of yahoo critics we never got a game like this again
In my opinion, This game has the best badge gate entrance along with the instruments appearing one by one is the most beautiful thing ever.
This puts the victory in victory road, its such a sick way to show how far youve come

I remember when this game came out and I sat paralyzed after seeing the Pokémon move for a whole battle

I imagine this as the badge clearance to prove all your badges are legit so that it's not fraud. There are barcodes on the badges to prove they're real.

I really like this badge check but when you think about the inefficiency of building 8 gates it becomes a little silly

from what i remember as a kid, you get stopped if you dont have the badge
