Love the rage forest games, Viper. I've learned a lot and have improved nicely in the last few weeks especially. Taking the time to learn fish boom has made all the difference.
20:04 Ah yes, the stalling technique! The great swordman Musashi also use this feat against Sasaki. By intentionally showing up late and stalling, Musashi enraged the noble and high-born Sasaki. Hence able to exploit Sasaki's anger and caused the usually careful Sasaki to swing with glaring opening. Very skilled player indeed.
Tense game!! That little onager cut around the back to raid the enemy eco was like a commando operation. Seems like the tide finally turned on the northern front once red rebounded enough to mix huskarl in with his halb; totally eviscerated the Turk HCA.
Grey and purple were about to get steamrolled. If you check the graph at 45:10 you can see they had no army left, and blue had a mass of mangudai and siege working its way through the forward buildings
When the first player calls gg (good game), it means he's tapping out and about to resign. Then everyone else says gg in good sportsmanship knowing the game is over and they either won or lost.
I wonder if you pushing from your fish made them think (foolishly ofc) that you had no fish, that would and should have been an area to target for them. Also could have ended up pulling some of blue away from purple.
@@ashmonkey2572 Yeah, but catas still feel a little weak for how expensive they are. If you don't want to give the civ bloodlines, then just buff catas stats.
@@alanbareiro6806 Catas are a situational unit that can be very strong as they are not easily countered. Basically only Paladin which is another unit that is expensive beats them. Giving them bloodlines might make them par with Paladins or beat them as they have same armor, blast radius and higher attack speed. Less attack though and 10 hp less, but again normal counters dont work against catas. Catas can be easily too strong of a unit if you buff them. Lets agree to disagree. I think catas dont need a buff except maybe making the upgrades a little cheaper, but im not even sure if they need that as that already happened a few patches ago.
Give Byzantines Parthian Tactics and reduce the cost of the Elite Cata & Logistica upgrades just a wee bit more Parthian Tactics might make Cav Archers at least somewhat situationally viable and would play into the theme of Byzantines being the "versatile counter civ"

Satisfying seeing cavalry melt halbs like that. Just wish Catas weren't both so expensive and have so many other weaknesses
What are their other weaknesses?
@@Elbasiliuslow pierce armor
They melt to arbalest
@@Elbasilius also lose to other heavy cavalry
@@LeaderOfTheRedNinjas i see. Thanks
Their only weakness are gold heavy unit that forced your enemy to make them to counter it, which justifies why catapracht are so expensive
Finally a pro game where I actually get to see some cataphracts

41:49 i think a cheap skirm transition could work, but i think viper is only doing gold units since he has a lot of trade
love to see marv in the team
12:33 a masterpieace :)
Such great mangonel trades! Viper stopped their push dead in its tracks with 1 mangonel!
Helbs are like " WHAT THE F my spear went through that horse 5 times and nothimg happened !"
Where do I get the rage forest map?
holy moly, they just melt halb like wet paper
i still dont know why they call gg, can anyone tell me please? i havent play/watch team games before
it means "good game"
Usually good manners to say gg at the end of the game. Regardless of who wins or who loses

Viper savior game hahaaa
67 trade carts yet Viper was starving
Byz need bloodlines or last armor upgrade to be a little more competitive
Their camels and cataphracts might get too strong. There is a reason they dont have bl. Byz are not a bad civ.
