This project has been the culmination of about 3 years of my life. It all started with this drone photo you see below. I got this while home for Christmas 3 years ago, but I have never posted the footage. This moment really stood out to me and I decided I would save it until I produced my own music to accompany the vibe I feel here in the PNW.
Producing music has come in and out of my life over the years, it wasn't until April of this year I started to take it seriously again. That's when I finally found a fitting sound to make this video.
Every shot in this video I personally filmed somewhere in B.C, WA, OR or Northern CA.
This process has been insane... I'm so ready to move on haha. Tweaking every little sound, effect, color grading, learning how to mix/master, searching through terabytes of footage.. it's crazy what goes on behind the scenes with this stuff.
It's funny how this stuff works out. I feel like this song really emphasizes my roots and where I came from. The track is inspired by artists like Porter Robinson and Odesza, my favorite musicians while growing up here in the PNW. The video shows all the beautiful things I've captured here over the years, and for whatever reason, the sound/video are finally ready just as I'm finishing up my 2-year long school bus conversion.
In 10 days I leave south to Burning Man on my grand bus adventure with no intention to return to Bellingham. This song, 'New Heights' signifies the next chapter of my life coming into fruition. Leaving all of this behind me, reaching for a new standard. Redefining how I will continue my life as an artist.
Pursuing the music career I have always wanted. Combining it with my ability to create visual content. This is just the beginning.
