Enjoyable video, thank you. I travelled this line to go to school from Watchet into Taunton each weekday in 1969/70, the last days of British Railways on this line. Of all the stations, as I recall, Stogumber was in the most decrepit and unkempt state. Long unstaffed, I think, with only part of the platform accessible, due to the intruding undergrowth. What a beautiful transformation.
That was a pleasant half hour at Stogumber Station. From what has been said it wasn’t like it is now. What a difference it makes to have a lovely garden to sit down and relax in and pasties and cream teas to enjoy! And the sound of nature too. Wonderful!
What a beautiful video Mike, as always! Whenever me and my mother used to pass through Stogumber on the steam train, we always viewed it as a rather beautiful, but lifeless place; though we did find our way to the pub in the actual village, which was quite pleasant. It's great to see things going on at the station though - that railway 'scene' is amazing! As always, hope you and your wife are keeping well. Robert Your fan from Gloucester... :D
Admiral you've wet my appetite. Will have e to visit Stogumber and have a pastie and a cuppa when we come down to Blue anchor later in the season. Best wishes to both. Hope you get the open sorted
Our little Copen did give us starting problems after our visit too but luckily the station is on a hill so we were able to push it to start the engine!
I loved this .... and Stogumber is the prettiest little station on that line I think .... and don't the birds sing so loud and sweetly .... great video Mike ❤... when I next go back to the UK... this little railway is my first visit ... I'll buy a £32 day pass and stay on it all day 😂😂😝
It's not often I get the sunshine when riding along the Llangollen Railway. I noticed 5199 sporting an Easter Special headboard. It's not Easter yet, but I suppose I could give her the benefit of the doubt. She is my steamy sister after all. Nice to see Odney Manor at the beginning. The only steamy missing from the scene is.... well I'm sure you know who I'm thinking of, you'll easily get it. Sorry for mentioning her so much, I can't help myself.
Mike, I have you a bit of false information about the signal box. It was on the other side of the waiting room to where I said, sorry. Old age and senility is my excuse ! Good to see you again today !
I was able to look up that book we mentioned and see that. I am still surprised that there is no sign of its base on that sloping ground., It would appear that every part of it was removed way back in the 1930s even though the points and signals still remained there at that time.
Steam, scenery, sun, nice location and the model railway. Great, thanks Mike and Val.
It was so good to be there on such a sunny day!
Lovely bird song as well as the wonderful train❤
Its a very pleasant place to relax at.

That's good to hear Graham.
Thank you Mike for bringing so much of a nice sunny Somerset spring day. Clive
You are very welcome Clive. Val and I hope you are feeling better. Are you coming here for the Gala at the end of April?
Great video.. thank you both x

It’s Easter Week now, we’ve just had Palm Sunday, Ash Wednesday tomorrow, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday. It certainly is Easter!!!
Don't forget the sheep Mike.
Hmm! Baa!
The old signal box was next to the cattle platform thing .... that guy was wrong 😂..!
The model isn't an exact recreation of the station layout but the basis for what could have been, in the modellers mind..

Awful noisy contorted sound on this one...
