- 7th / 8th January 2023 saw the return of the Edington Model Railway Exhibition, hosted by the Somerset & Dorset Trust at Edington Village Hall, Edington, Somerset.
The show featured no less than 11 layouts and dioramas in a variety of gauges and scales, as well as a good selection of trade, demo and society stands.

Strange, but despite loving standard gauge models, I was finding myself more fascinated with the narrow gauge models!

Indeed! Certainly was popular with families to the show. Narrow gauge is certainly fun to model. Tempted to build another narrow gauge layout at some point myself
I like the layout that show all the SDJR locomotives in the Prussian blue livery. I'm always on the lookout for models like those.
Bridgewater is just stunning! Indeed, really would be great to see more S&DJR locos and stock on the market

Great exhibition, some super layouts. 'Bridgwater' is a work of art, gives me a lot of ideas & inspiration for my 7mm layout set in Somerset 1930s, thank you for the quality footage. The NG canal layout is a favorite too. Cheers, Felix

It a route training run. As crews would of needed to be trained to operate running with the ploughs, incase of use

Lovely layouts, Exception modelling, but no crews in some of the steam locomotives.

Funny you mention the Peckett, as I was talking to the owner when filming, saying get ready for the "There's no footplate crew" comments. 🤣 He's assured me he has a pair of ModelU figures on his workbench awaiting painting, it's just finding the time 🙂
To be fair, we did indeed anticipate comment relating to the lack of crew in the Peckett. No disappointment there then !
Fry's Chocolate. You can still see the unused trackbed and the empty factory to this day. All made in Poland now apparently.
Indeed, though the track bed is now a pathway (the gates sadly demolished) and while the factory is now a luxury flats, restaurants, gym and retirement home.

All the work that goes into the layout's but no crew on the footplate, see this many times on model rail video's
Why do modellers put so much beautiful detail in their models but…. No drivers in the locos????
