Heal Tech has a device that allows you to calibrate your speedometer. Also, quad lock makes a poncho for your phone making it water resistant. You wouldn’t want to drop it in a river, but it does protect well from splashes and light rain.
Thanks, mate. Yeah both are on my long-term list to grab. Quad lock poncho will probably be first. Low NZ dollar makes buying stuff from overseas at the moment a bit expensive 😬
Cheers mate! Hard to beat it for the money. I actually rode my mates 690 for a bit today, and honestly, I kinda preferred my Rally. Apart from the massive bump in power the 690 has it didn’t quite grab at the heartstrings like Rosie does.
Drop a cbr300r motor from a scrapped cbr in it mate . Improved mine just enough to be worthwhile - box clever and you can get same money for the old 250 motor…
@@1964mjc I have genuinely considered it. Sadly there isn’t a large number of cb300 motors lying around NZ. I’m waiting to see how @TheGardenSnake mega build goes too.
@@OnThrottle Shame the cbr300r is a bike often chosen by new riders here in Aus so they get crashed a fair bit… so there’s always a few engines on eBay / gumtree (sorry can’t remember what the nz equiv is to those sites?)
Check out "550 performance" for ECU tuning... I have the 250 rally also & when I did the slip on exhaust I felt a little dead spot after I did the ECU it was perfect 💯%
@@OnThrottle I just went with "stock modified"... I could go with the stage one he said if I wanted it more aggressive but I just wanted to get rid of the little flat spot that I had after the exhaust but it just helped everything is very smooth + better performance just gotta use higher octane ⛽ 😂... But the ⛽ mileage these things get that's a small price to pay
@@OnThrottle & I know it works because my buddy bought a 2018 KLX 250 dual-sport & stock-for-stock we were damn tie but now I can pull on him the tune made a BIG difference so I even put a 15 🦷 front ⚙️ to drop my RPMs & still runs great & stay ahead of him 😂
I notice you have different tyres in now. I’m about to get some Shinko E804/805 on my 300L Rally for 60/40 setup. Do you still recommend them? I also commute and already bald on original at 4000kms
Yes I’m running Michelin Trackers now as I’ve been riding some harder off road trails. For the money I think it’s hard to look past the Shinkos as a 50/50 tyre. Here in NZ at least.
@@TwistTheThrottle2024 nice. They will always be a compromise tyre but I had no complaints while I ran them. For your use they should be fine I’d imagine. Aussie roads seem to be made a bit nicer than ours from memory 😂
@@OnThrottle I commute on my bike about 30kms each way in highway and like doing touring on country tar roads. I do have some great dirt roads near me but mainly smooth dirt roads. Do you think I would be better on Shinko or Dunlop D606/MT21 combo? Also considering in about a year that an 800MT might be my next bike. They look awesome 👏
Honestly I can’t really say on the D606/MT21 combo as I’ve not run it. The Dunlop’s are meant to last pretty well from what I’ve heard. I think with tyres it’s a case of try what you can and stick with what works for your unique situation. The 800MT is incredible value. The new Explore version has much more tech, but I think the new 800MT Touring has been given switchable abs (the one I rode didn’t have this). Heated seat and grips FTW!

Such a good bike for the price mate, loved my 250L!

@@honda116969 nice! Yeah I’ve been thinking stock modified personally. I give my bike death 💀 so a bit of a boost would be appreciated.
Just picked up a 250 Rally, what skid plate is that.
Hiya, that’s a B&B Off Road Engineering skid plate out of Australia.

Can I bump start it
Yea, the 250 has a standard style clutch unlike the 300 which has a slipper so they can be bump started if needed.

I dunno. Probably not. That said, electrics may as we’ll be witchcraft to me.
