Omg! How can I pick one favorite? Every one of her videos was exquisite. The sumptuous environment, the dedication to craft and beauty, and the contemplative peaceful feel was such a balm to everyone who watched during kovid. Honestly, she really helped people reinvision a better world as ours was violently falling apart. She’s definitely one of my sheros! (I’m 62 by the way)
It’s been 6 years since I studied Chinese in college/studied abroad in Shanghai, and I always think about how much internet culture is creating so many new phrases in English and worry that if I dive back into Chinese it’ll be like learning a whole new language 😅 I loved hearing you two explain these references!
My most favorite video by LiZiqi is the one where she is making dried persimmons. Me and my mom watched it together and she loved it a lot. I look back to those times and think of how wholesome they were ❤
one of the languages I speak also uses "to die" (and "to be sick") extensively in slang to express love\adoration \admiration 😁 הוא מת עליה הוא חולה עליה
