Mine just failed yesterday, good that videos like these exist. Gonna get a checkup at the local shop to see what they charge and then ill see if I make it myself. Thanks anyways for your video 🙂
👍👍
Fantastic video and parts links. Very little mechanical experience but followed this and fixed the problem saving some very expensive quotes from garage. Many thanks.
Great to hear!
Just a gentle reminder on the Warranty.
If the Receiver/Drier is not replaced including TXV and a system flush the warranty might as well be thrown in the bin!
The warranty card that comes with the Compressor states this and has to be signed off by the respective Technician who carried out the work.
In the round, a one for one without the above will very likely make the Warranty void!
Something to bare in mind. 👍

thank you man
You're welcome!
Thanks you. all clip

Hi do you know were the low pressure switch is located on these rangers, i've looked everywhere.
What are going to be the pros and cons of using a genuine Ford compressor instead of the aftermarket one, thank you
OE ford will be better quality likely to last longer
Thank you Brother, it makes sense, i do want to keep this car forever@@diydaly
Genuine doesn't always mean better. Some after market makers will fix the weak spots that are in the Genuine
@@vinceking719 thank you for replying, to be fair I really to be able to duo my own mechanics and repairs on the vehicle but I don't have the time right now in the future when I have the capability to do that, I will keep what you said in mind, thank you.
How many km did you have on it before the compressor started to fail?
70,000 miles mate
Can the Ac pump for T6 work for T7?
im not sure tbh mate
Nic video sir
thank you!
My Ranger is a 2020 and I need to replace the compressor already. This is ridiculous and I’ll never purchase another Ford.
Not good is it!
My compressor doesn’t engage unless I bypass the relay. Then when I bypass it, the compressor is very noisey. I thought maybe the compressor is partially ceased and the computer has overload protection which prevents it from engaging, but if you say the compressor in the video was partially ceased and getting red hot perhaps then sounds like I’m wrong 🤔
Yeah it’s quite a common issue im afraid
@@diydaly so bit of an update, bypassed relay again, let it idle, compressor was engaged, gave it a rev, then the compressor (or something else near it - yet to take it apart) exploded and gas went everywhere 😅. So in summary; I’d guess that the ECU does have compressor overload protection and won’t engage clutch if compressor is bad, bypassing relay will work but a bad idea, and ceasing compressors on PX rangers must be a bit of a common problem as you say
Hi there - great video - please can you confirm the amount of compressor oil needed for replacement and type please ?? Also what type of refrigerant is needed?
This one is r134a , if you check the description the oil capacity is listed
Cool 😉🔧
👍
Thanks for this great in depth video, going to have a crack myself. With your comment about adding oil to the compressor, is it common for most regas machines to be able to do this? I will need to take mine in to be regassed by a professional after replacement. If the new compressor already has oil in it too, how do you know how much to add?
I wrote the amounts in the video description but yes most machine should be Able to do this
@@diydaly Thanks! Do you also need to flush the system before replacing the compressor?
@@toolowgo 👍 no you won’t need to flush it
@@diydaly Thanks! Will give it a go and let you know :D
