Thanks for the exhaust work! System works great. Just did a 6 hour roadtrip and completely forgot I had an exhaust from how quiet valves closed are. Got a lot of recognition out of town about it🙌🤝

@@danksamurai8357 This is my 95 with 2.5” single straight pipe, factory cats off the manifolds. Replaced rotted Y pipe with OE-style aftermarket which has a resonator(instead of 3rd cat) then we pieced the rest together. I ended up putting a rip-off flowmaster super 10 on the back(sounds good and tamed it a bit)because the rasp and drone was too much for me but here’s a clip of it without the muffler so you know what you’re in for. ua-cam.com/video/kpXYjBOUIlU/v-deo.html
should put some long tube 4 into 1 headers on it, then itll be crazy sounding

@@nick0164 thankfully mines a 5.7l and those can handle boost unlike the 392 and 6.1, but not much like the LS and 6.2l HEMI SC.
I'm glad the 1UZ is finally getting appreciation, An almost indestructible motor. And it can push huge power on the stock bottom end.
I know this is an old comment but its only the old 1uz (89-94) that can push crazy power on stock internals. the 95+ and the vvti's has thinner rods and aren't as strong as the pre 94. Just thought I'd leave this comment for anyone curious enough to want more explanation

Lexus made some of the best JDM V8s back in the day. This car is in great condition.
The best in terms of reliability.
Still do make a good V8.

I have a built 93 Cobra and I’ll admit I’m biased. That’s my favorite exhaust note. BUT these 4 liter V8 Toyota motors sound incredibly nasty. Definitely my second favorite exhaust note.
I love the GS400 and LS400 V8. Both sound like an Ford Mustang but this, is incredible ❤

bro id never have the valves closed or at minimum put on vibrants to kill the possible drone and make it deeper but that v8 sounds so clean and idle isnt loud

The 4liter 8 is nice but definitely cant go wrong with a 2jz I6 they're not at all fast being a NA car but I think you can get a lil aftermarket support maybe.

Yea was not feeling the valved closed sound at all. For some reason it sounded very raspy and tinny. Opened was pretty good but a bit loud for my tastes.Did you guys manually open the valves?
The setup I went with has vacuum lines and it goes into a control box. I think you can also electronically control it with no vacuum lines from what I've heard other people say. And yeah, I notice it sounds tinny. I had a valved exhaust system on a 2012 Maxima that I had tuned and the exhaust sounded a bit tinny with the valves closed, even with resonators, but open sounds like a "normal" exhaust

Oh hell No! Yeah this is unacceptable. You can barely hear this car and sounds no different than a stock Toyoda Matrix, and that's a damn shame 🤔 Owner should have just run open manifolds, which is hands down the best setup and provides optimal back pressure and improved 28-Way Power Driver Seat performance on these 1999 Lexus GS 400 4.0L's.

Turn the manifolds up side down, and make smoke stacks that go through the hood. They should be the way to get the right back pressure

How do you get no check engine light without the mid cat? I'm getting p0420 code my mid cat is hollow or maybe could it be 02 sensors? Thanks~ also having lack of power when accelerating
