@@AdmiralQuality I know a lot of old ww2 planes were stubborn bastards to fly (uncle in law services spitfires and other ww2 planes), The delay before guns and cannons fire is on the huey as well, it's about a second but I presume it's just the guns getting ready or something.
I'm enjoying your Mossie videos, and it's a pleasure to have video introductions of upcoming DCS planes shared by other video creators rather than by just one person. You're doing a great job, Suntsag, keep it up.
👍👍 The RPM levers changed colour from the start up vid! Works in progress.... I feel like the whole cockpit looked a bit better on the manston runway rather than earlier shots. Looking pretty nice all round. Can't wait to see what it really feels like in VR. Thanks for the videos! 👍👍
Yes, so am I, it reminds me of the 1st time I downloaded the software & tested out our original HP Vive headset before I wrapped it up for my sons Christmas day present in 2018. Testing the ME110 aircraft on IL2 as an example I was blown away by how huge & close the twin engines appeared in vr to the cockpit compared to how they looked previously on a monitor.
Kudos SAG, thank you for the work you put in... I am now going to sound like a toss piece potentially, but I was chastised for calling the Vertical Speed Indicator a variometer; from what I felt to be the sound reasoning that, every meter varies and that term is ambiguous at best, it is NOT therefore a variometer, only glider pilots refer to it as such, it IS a Vertical Speed Indicator! Coming from a person that went; glider pilot, to powered pilot.
6:42 "As soon as you are travelling a straight line down the runway..." You guys! I have written off squadrons of Mossies trying to keep the module in a straight line. Doesn't fly like any aircraft I've flown before, real or simulated. I'll keep trying.
Hey Suntsag, this is my first warbird so forgive my ignorance. Will there be controls for flaps lower else OFF and flaps raise else OFF so I can still use my flaps lever on my Warthog throttle?
Flaps on the Mossie are Up Down and Neutral. I think the WH throttle will be fine for Flaps, you will move them to where you want then stick it in the central position for neutral. A bit like the MiG 15 how you always return to neutral ( which works fine on the WH ) would be my guess.
@@Tigermoto If its your first warbird maybe get the Spitfire on the 2 week free trail. Taxing is similar and engine management too. It would probably stand you in good stead.
Question. Is there any reason why you can't remove the gear lock before take off? Ie as part of final checks on the runway? I can envisage stalling out or similar while head is in the cockpit following rotation. Or can the vibrations cause the lever to slip and the gear to lift prematurely? Just trying to sort my checklists in my head. Looking forward to this module lots and lots.
I am really enjoying flying this in DCS. One of my favorites. One thing I can't figure out is how to turn on the artificial horizon. I assumed it starts to spool up when you turn on the electrical services switch, but it just sits there skewed at an angle throughout the whole flight??!!. I can't find anything about it in the manual... Does anyone have any advice?
Yes, yes, yes. I hope you realise that I am not even concentrating, (I will figure out what I did wrong after my first crash on take-off). I am only concentrating on how many days based on the DCS: Mi-24P Hind Hover, Taxi, and Take-off video being released on the 5th of June & the DCS: Mi-24P Hind being released to Early Access on the 18th of June. I can only expect to have my 1st Mosquito crash after take-off on the 27th of September.
Thanks for running through these can't wait. Out of curiosity is that the default head position/fov? Looks like it's zoomed back a tad, but probably is just the size difference in aircraft from the warbirds I'm used too.
At 7:23 you reduce RPM then throttle, is this the correct order? This video ua-cam.com/video/S8aa9d4geDs/v-deo.html says it should always be throttle then RPM down, and RPM then throttle up.
because most of these warbirds have superchargers the inlet manifold is typically greater than the RPM so yes its appropriate - only for these aircraft. If you wanted to get technical if you intend on leaning mixture then the manifold would be much lower.
With the poor rudder effectiveness during the initial takeoff roll and large torque generated by the non-counter-rotating props, how do you keep straight? Split throttles or tapping the brakes?
I am a little concerned about the HUD or aiming reticle or whatever you want to call it... will I have to physically move my head to the right to look through it? Was it meant to be aligned with the pilot or co-pilot? I think I would have bought this already if I had a answer to that question
Is it just me or does it seam that the British over engineer ever simple system? Keep in mind I'm not hating on anyone but why not just push one lever up or down to lift or drop landing gear? I'm going to need 2 new button boxes for just pulling wheel chalks and lifting landing gear so I'm not VR keyboarding 7 sets of commands for 1 simple task to do the job. lol I'm worried cause I can't taxi a spitfire for nothing OMG here I go again.
The were far from wooden coffins in the war, but then again in game we are using a 109k4 which wasn't even in use until Oct 44 and saw minimum or no action in the real world
I like this! It’s the perfect accent for a British airplane. It puts me in the mood lol. Wags is very busy with other modules and probably making Apache vids also.
Your content is good, the mike is not on par man. Time for ED to upgrade you :). Just a guess, you do speak after recording ? If you have the chance, do it live with in game sound in the background. It sounds detached from what you are talking about. To give you an example, during Corona, you could clearly hear commentators being in a booth and not at stadium. Devil is in the details....just an observation :)
I do not enjoy those “dark cut” with pauses either. For constructive criticism, for the improvements of DCS. Thank You for all the tutorial by the way, much needed.
Well that was jarring - expected "Hey everyone, Wags here from Eagle Dynamics..."
waiting eagerly for this release :)

was getting worried Mossie Monday had been abandoned- glad to see this not the case!
Still sad that it's Mossie-every-other-Monday ;) but I do hope we get to fly her on Wednesday. Can't wait.
Good thing my new pc is almost done... I love WWII aircraft and Mossy has always been one of my favorite 9f the iconic planes
Great tutorial. Voice, narration speed perfect. Thank you for posting.
No warm-up? What about the clearing of the engines you mentioned before extending flaps?
Put the video on pause. Wait 15 minutes. Resume the video.
Exciting stuff, thank you.

I like the W-AG squadron markings
But it’s Tuesday Cobba. 😜
I can see lots of ground loops learning the mozzie. Thanks for sharing

Excellent, I'll echo Al's comments below....bring on the Mossie!
Open the window and scream , "CLLLEEEEEEAAARRR " making sure your voice cracks for optimal attention .

What always shocks me is the specificity of the checklists. How many test pilots were seriously injured or died getting these right?
Do you plan to implement +25 lbs boost power setting with 150 octane fuel in the future?
"WAG" registration number thingy on the side
Must be a landing video to come so I calculate release in approx two weeks.
How are the tachometers labeled for specific RPM? Dial number plus 2000? Is 2000 minimum and 3000 maximum?
Amazing engine sounds
That music at the end was unshazamable - is it the official menu soundtrack by chance? :D
You forget retract flaps ! :)

@@MajFAIP Hum..you're wrong! This is always manifold first then RPM when you reduce throttles to avoid overboosting the engine.
Hope it's easier than the spit. Can't takeoff, land or taxi in that thing reliably
Awesome
You may decrease the PA before your decrease the RPM.....and you may increase RPM and then increase PA... to avoid over torque on your engine
engine smokes on take off evetime. Can't seem to prevent it
nevermind, I was over revving
With the poor rudder effectiveness during the initial takeoff roll and large torque generated by the non-counter-rotating props, how do you keep straight? Split throttles or tapping the brakes?
In real life, Mossie pilots would open the throttle of the Port engine a little more than the Starboard one to reduce the swing during take off.
Looking good!!
do we have to speakers with a British accented to fly this aircraft
