I`ve fish Melones before and i`m surprise that the kastmaster or little Cleo was never used.

I don't know how my father ever caught a fish,, never used a fish finder, never took temp, never had pro- cure, just a worm on the bottom guy, I can't tell you how many bit trout that man caught. Its my go to fishing technique when nothing else is working,,, worm on the bottom, its a forgotten killer.

Nobody's forgotten it. It's a time honored standard that works from the bank or from a boat. Trolling is just a different kind of fishing for folks looking for a different kind of engagement. Same goes for worms on a float, when the trout are higher in the water column.
Some days I want to feel active and engaged whether the fish are biting or not. Some days I want to sit back and relax til the action starts.
