Introducing my “LM Vintage Keys” Sound Bank for the Arturia MiniFreak.
I have only scratched the surface of the MiniFreak in the short time I have owned it and thought a great start would be to emulate some classic bread & butter analog synths tones with the flexibility of the MiniFreak’s sound engine.
This is a collection of custom presets that explore vintage synth tones inspired by some of my favourite synthesisers such as the Oberheim OB8, Sequential Prophet 5, Moog Multimoog, Roland Jupiter 4 and Juno 6 and many more.
Load this bank into your MiniFreak V library and import the file straight into where you desire in your MiniFreak.

Just picked up a Minifreak not too long ago as a first foray into synthesizers. I've been interested in learning how to use them for some time now, and decided to take the leap after reading lots of positive reviews on the Mini (and Micro) Freak.
Just had a baby, and thought it'd be a good time to start learning how to "master" synthesizers so I can share the knowledge with him when he's older.
Did a quick search for classic synth recipes and found this video. So glad to see some real useful, old-school synth sounds are possible on this thing. I wish there were more videos like this. Haven't looked through your videos, but would love to see how you go about creating some of these patches. They all sound amazing! Keep doing more of this and sharing with the world!

@@in.stereo - I just hope she's into it. She likes music and plays/sings so I'm hopeful. I got my first synth at about the same age (a Juno106 purchased used from my music teacher back in the 80s). I loved that thing and still have it but it needs a service and I want her to have something of her own and also something that is updated with more modern features while keeping that largely knob per function clear interface which I think is important for a starter synth. Heck I still love that functionality and I have been messing about with synths since the 80s. I think Arturia have done a great job with both Freaks.

Outstanding! I had the original MicroFreak for a while and didn't get along with it too well. This video has me really rethinking the MiniFreak.

Hey thx so much for these patches! I live these classic synth sounds. The minifreak is my first hardware synth. Just one question. Am I missing out by not having an analog synth? I was considering a minilogue xd module to go with the minifreak. Do you thing the minifreak can create sounds like the minilogue xd?

Hey, just discovered your channel. These sounds are awsome. Im extremely amateur, just curious what the process is for uploading these to the minifreak, or if you have or know of a walkthrough tutorial as to how to load them?
You can use the Arturia Midi Control Centre or MiniFreak V to load my bank and then transfer to the hardware synth.
Love these! I just love the riff at 2:25 (LM JP4 Poly), was it inspired by a particular song?
It was just improvising but the end of that section was definitely a dash of Just Can’t Get Enough 😊
Very nice sounds which show the virtual analog side of the Minifreak. Is it possible, that the minifreak is lacking bass? Maybe this is UA-cam or that there are only 3 octaves when playing pad chords.
I tend to make pads more in the mid range to leave room for bass instruments. There's an EQ and Compressor on board which can add or take away bass frequencies.

I'm using the Minifreak without the software , is it possible to upload presets directly on the Minifreak by Usb? Or export/save presets? Didn't find any info
I’m not sure. But the software is a free download for you as a MiniFreak owner.
Hello to you and first of all thank you for your work, but am I the only one who encounters a problem when I transfer the LM P5 SYNC patch? in fact in my Minifreak, instead of having Saw x in oscillator 1, it loads Harm... Does anyone also encounter this problem?
I haven’t encountered that or heard of anyone else with that problem yet. Does it correct itself when you change the oscillator? If it does, then just save over the preset.

thank you for your answer and yes it is corrected when you switch once to the left and arrive at SawX, I think it's because you recorded these presets when the synth was still in version 1, since they added WaveTable in version 2, maybe that's why it's so bad at this level....

hey Luke, can you work your magic on the Microfreak? Will these sounds work/need much modification/or not work at all on the little Microfreak? Thanks for this gift to the community.
I’m not sure if they translate to the micro. I don’t have one but assume that you could get similar sounds on one :)
minifreak patches are not compatible with the microfreak. The minifireak has an additional oscilitaor, LFO, and an entire effects section. It has 9 custom destination in its matrix. It has additional polyphony.
They're have the same synth engines for oscillators but they are different synths.

You can use the MiniFreak V to load the patches into the hardware

If you use the MiniFreak V software you can import the bank and then send it to your synth.

They are similar machines but these presets will only work on the Minifreak.

Connect your MiniFreak and then use the Arturia Midi Control Centre or MiniFreak V to import my bank and then transfer to the keyboard.
