I must say, these generations drag races are really cool. I swear no other channel does anything like this. Amazing photography and shots. Could you do one with the BMW 3 series as a generation race. Am I just a lover for Porsche because their vehicles seem to have a timeless appeal, my opinion.

@@ericmarciniak1864 From a stand still its the gearbox doing an enormous difference yes. Mk2 turbo S isnt much slower to speak of than this mk4 (they call it mk2 in the video) car when up to speed. And indeed the mk1 and 2 are much more terrain focused, hence why they are a bit heavier.
0:28 That engine bay is so neat! Everything you shouldn't see is covered, no exposed wire looms and such, and yet it's not overly covered, you see all the important stuff. It's just so clean, so nicely presented!
1st Gen Cayenne 955 and facelift 1st gen 957 both have a rather robust AND heavy 2speed transfer case with a crawler gear. That 2speed transfer case added an extra 450lbs in the 1st gen -- hence the noticeable weight decrease in 2nd gen (958.1/958.2). The original 1st gen Cayenne (955/957) was designed to be truly offroad capable which is why that crawler transfer case was included. They all came with a factor center locking diff and some had a rare offroad specific package that offered a rear locking diff. I believe the aftermarket these days also provides a front locker so a friggin Porsche Cayenne can go rock crawling and crazy muddy offroad with his Jeep Wrangler and Toyota Land Cruiser buddies.
Just bought one with the diff lockers excited to give it a go the previous owners didnt offroad it at all, that being said i will not be scratching it up 😂
Then speak up and make the demand for liquid hydrocarbon fuels synthesised from captured carbon or algae / biomass and renewable energy sources. Storing and transporting energy in the form of long carbon molecules works and makes sense, just be careful about where the input energy comes from.

Second gen is a bit lighter than old ones because they dont have all the terrain gubbins the first gen got. Back when they designed the first gen, they didnt yet figure out almost everyone would use them as just mall crawlers, so its very competent in the terrain. Also, from a standstill the gearbox itself makes an enourmous difference, 0.6-0.8 seconds off the 0-60 just from that. When up to speed, the first gen turbo s (especieally the 957 one) can hang with the second gen pretty well.

U ' re right for the 955 , but i think the big difference come from the 8 speed gear box.
