IBIS for smooth handheld videography and minimum 1/1.3s shutterspeed for photography in low light condition. Next I love its ergonomics in quick handling by its little weight with its own zoom lenses. 3rd best feature I love its long battery performance.
Definitely Ibis. I also use Timelapse function, quite often. An other underrated function is focus bracketing. In the end, even I own Gh5s, GH6 and S5ii, I realise that I often select the G85 over the other ones because of it’s light weight, even after adding a battery grip. G85 is still a great camera into 2024.
Great video. Straight to the main points. Well spoken, great production. Many thanks. 🎉🎉🎉. Using my G85 for B&W Street photography in Greece. Thank you. ❤❤❤
I bought my G85 back in January 2017 just a few months before the original GH5 came out. I was tempted by the GH5 but I couldn’t justify the cost at that time and I also needed something right away to fill the gaps of some basic photography and 4K video jobs and it has been a fantastic workhorse ever since. I was always planning on upgrading to a GH5 or something else one day but the G85 has always got the job done and for the last two years I’ve been using it for real estate photography paired with the Laowa 7.5mm f2 and the images are great. It does have its limitations of course as all cameras do especially when they get a bit older and you’re using them for professional work so I recently bought an S5II and now use that as an A cam a lot of the time but the G85 still gets used as my gimbal cam for B roll and it still looks great even as we move in 2024. This camera definitely punches well about its weight.
So true Able Media Productions, Thanks for checking out the video! It's been a very reliable hybrid camera for me too since 2020. I think you made the right choice with using your G85 to the fullest! Congrats on your upgrade to the Full Frame S5ii with the Phase-Detect autofocus! Have you tried using the Real Time Lut feature yet? 📸
@@Mike_Mandigo I haven't used real time LUT yet. I've only had the camera for about two weeks and have only used it on one project shooting 4K 25 10bit 422 in V-Log and it looks great however I will definitely be using RTL in future projects as it'll save time in post (and i rarely do any heavy grading for my work) while still giving me the most dynamic range. I've spent most of my time with the camera rigging it up to use 4 channel audio and setting up all the shortcuts but it seems like it's going to be an awesome addition to my kit especially working alongside the G85.
Sorry I didn't get to this msg yesterday @@ablemediaproductions. I like your plan for RTL and getting more dynamic range in future projects. I think I might try doing the same and see how it turns out. I agree, your S5ii will be a nice companion for working along with your G85. Merry Christmas & Have a Great 2024!
Long press the button you want to have it programed to on the wheel, it will open up a menu. Go through the menu and look for "exposure meter". Select it, then don't forget to save it under one of your custom profiles. Hopefully that will solve it for you 👌
I have one coming very soon. I was going through a personal slump all through the month of July. Happy to be pulling out of that funk and creating again. Thanks for checking in on me 🙏 Hope you're doing good ravebrave?
What's your favourite G85 feature? 🤔

@@ashovid8915 I agree with you, the battery life is great, and thx for minimum shutterspeed tip for low light condition. I'll have to try that out 📸

Thanks for the tip about the "long press" on a function key to change what it does. Didn't know that and it's very handy!
You're welcome Keith, it helps to save a little bit of precious time ⌚

I’ve just bought my 3rd G85 camera… the other 2 cameras have the light meter on the back wheel the new one hasn’t. How to set the wheel functions?
Long press the button you want to have it programed to on the wheel, it will open up a menu.
Go through the menu and look for "exposure meter".
Select it, then don't forget to save it under one of your custom profiles.

@@Mike_Mandigo The other 2 cameras you dont need to push the f button, you just turn the wheel is that be able to do?
