Having Hornet and Hollow Knight being real siblings and having that reflect on Ghost was really well done. So her crying at Ghost's death actually brought a tear to my eye. And having Ghost's impact felt afterwards with all the characters working together to make a final monument for it was really wholesome. Just incredibly well done.
YOU CANT JUST SHOW UP OUTTA NOWHERE, DROP THE MOST GAME ACCURATE ANIMATION FOR HOLLOW KNIGHT IVE EVER SEEN THEN JUST VANISH!! I'mma be keeping a VERY close eye here. I KNOW game assets were used in some of these scenes, but sometimes its really hard to tell what was recreated and what was likely actual edited gameplay and thats BRILLIANT

These all look like cutscenes straight from the game, and it even helps that you supplemented the animations with actual cutscenes sometimes (from what I can tell lol). Fantastically done! I am a huge sucker for the hand drawn artstyle of hollow knight, and to see it replicated so perfectly for this animation makes me okay with waiting just a little longer for silksong.
The 600+ hours shows. If you showed this to someone who wasn’t really paying attention they would assume you ripped some of the scenes straight from the game with how accurate they are-but if you do look, you can tell that someone took the time not to copy for copying’s sake but instead to faithfully recreate. Every room you reference feels just like the real rooms, every sword swing swings with the right arc and moment as if it was the game itself. And to top it all off, a beautiful little addition at the end to tie the little story together.
Thank you for noticing! A lot of people do think I just copy-pasted many scenes straight from the game. And (truth be told) some of the scenes are pretty much traced. But I wanted to understand how Ari Gibson drew the backgrounds so I redrew all of it.

LOVE the fact that The Knight beats Sentinel Hornet with the Descending Dark at 1:54, that was exactly how i beat her, pogo jumping 3 spike balls in a row and then smash her head on the floor, hands down one of the most epic video game fights that i had, and its good to see that more people beaten her that way. 😮
Goodness gracious I was not expecting this to make me choke up. this is incredible. The first transition from the Statue of Hollow in city of tears to him being a vessel and Hornet young was INCREDIBLE. And, the addition of Hornet making a dedication to both Hollow and Ghost? RIGHT in the feels. It's like an end of an era, and she made herself at peace with the fact the kingdom could at last rest- and she could be on her way to start a new adventure... wow I think this is genuinely one of the greatest hollowknight animations out there. But this was so bittersweet, how hornet got everyone to work together to improve the hollow knight memorial to include little ghost. Beautiful. Made me cry.

Incredible! I love the little details, like the knight’s nail going through the upgrades up to the coiled nail by the end. And the way the teardrops trickled down the knight’s mask, pooling together and dripping in different ways.
