That's Investigative Journalist IceBerg to you!
Remix also sold the ronin, and infinite had to change from Ronin to Roman. This has happened several times. The PDGA needs to figure out the approval process and request the paperwork or proof of registration or something before they become PDGA approved. You can blame company A or B. But the common place where it all meets is the PDGA. they need to update the approval process because this shouldn't be this difficult.
Remix is owned by mvp so that adds up
Please, make sure to include forehand throws too! That’s more important for many people than just high-spin backhand shots, even if they’re fun to watch in videos.
Forehand throws and lower-spin releases reveal more about the disc’s true flight characteristics than all the backhand throws combined.
it feels too much like a Roc for me to ever want to forehand it lol
I have been bagging a Vector for years and is one of my favorite discs... it started out more stable and then beat into a perfect point and shoot dead straight flyer. So I am really excited to see if they resurrect it... :D Thanks for the info!
Funny how the Vector definitely seems the most understable of those discs
My understanding is that the Vector, Axis (RIP) and Theory got OOPed because MVP upgraded their equipment and the old molds weren't compatible or something. I can tell you that if you find a proton Vector with pop top dome they are very OS.
Did you notice any grip slippage with those throws? I always place discs to throw next UPSIDE DOWN on the ground to help prevent moisture collecting under the flight plate/rim especially when the ground is damp.
Nope! I just used my shirt to wipe them lol
Seems like the perfect bridge between the Reactor and Pyro where MVP has a gap.
In my experience the Reactor flys a little too similar to the Hex … So a true 5502 is that missing slot, I hope this new disc is that one.
I haven’t thrown it but isn’t that what the Matrix is supposed to be?
@ I have a matrix and I find it flies pretty well the same as the reactor but with a little less glide … not quite that 5502 or 5502.5 that mvp needs.
The new fission reactor actually fits the slot really nicely, very much a true 5502.
The Vector looks like it can turn a little with slight anny, which I see out of a lot of Hex's. I would've assumed they were going for a more stable Hex with the Balance, but not as overstable as a Reactor.
Would seem odd to me to recreate a Vector after seeing how yours flies.
only in america you can trademark common noun like "balance"
Yeah I figure it would be like a Crux. I haven't pulled the trigger on the Ethos Soft Crux because I am waiting to check out the Balance.
i dont think stock balance will be nearly as stable as the crux
@@IceBergTV my main thing is that I want a straight flying mid than can handle forehand torque and a compliment to the Pyro and Deflector. Matrix and Glow Reactor just dont cut it right now
vector was and still is my jam, thats why i got like 15 of them.
fission pyro kind of made the slot for a straight torque resistant midrange.
Pushing another mid range seems weird, between hex/pyro/detour what else do we really need in that slot? To me MVP already has the midrange game LOCKED up between those three discs.
think this is just a longer pyro...4 speed/5 speed...nothing more...
Odd timing. I just grabbed a small stack of original MVP molds for a round this weekend. (Vector/Phase/Mayhem - More dome than recent versions.) Always fun getting the old dogs out for a run in the park.
He should just call it the Valence and keep it science like for MVP
I don’t understand why they would get it pdga approved if its not how the mold is going to end up in the end
That's a good point! Probably to have SOMETHING ready for gyropalooza
@@IceBergTV IIRC it was covered in the press release. They had the prototype approved so they can sell off the batch as a Balance Prototype, and then have the revised mold approved as a separate mold. That way you can use the prototype in competitive play.
I've thrown the Essential Discs Balance in the purple plastic. It's nice. Feels like a beefy Roc 3 to me.
It's a solid disc!
The Vector was a Roc clone. Not a Roc3, but a Roc. It's the best Roc ever made in premium plastic.

thank you for your service good sir
Suppose to fly like the Vector?
Awesome. Glad I still bag the real thing. Eclipse Vectors are $$$
So... Essential Discs are great picking names "Clash"-ing with both mvp's and other small compaines ;D Crap like "Trademarks" and PDGA have been a mess about to happen ^_^ Should PDGA pick a fight with manufacturers using the molds of another company actually manufacturing them? Thinking of some older XCom discs being named 3-4 names per approved mold. ;D
I have a vector sometimes in my bag 😂
I doubt the balance is going to be as under stable as your vector. I bet it will be more over stable than a hex.
Absolutely pointless for MVP to bust out another midrange. The Pyro is a different disc in every plastic. It is a 14.5mm disc but there is another option. They could just release a Plasma Matrix. This will add over stability to the Matrix and it would be in the 13mm slot.
Simon wants a mid he gets a mid.
Can't call it pointless if it's for the Simon Line, where zero mids exist.
@@budtron183 Don’t get it twisted, I’m going to buy it. However I can’t see anything moving my Pyro out of the bag in the over stable 5 speed slot.
foot fault
🧊🧊
Way too many disc overlap. So many are identical to other discs in the same company. I'd prefer they just push the stuff they already have.
I agree, but hype sells and new discs create hype. To be honest, 99% of people could play competitive rounds with 5 discs or less but then there wouldn't be much money in the disc golf world if everyone spent $100 total on their bags and used those same discs for several years.
Eagles disc is proton envy isn't it
Yes
Are you now the disc golf chiefty?
Looks like it flys like the Innova Jay.
If it's a Vector, then it has WAY more glide than a Jay.
Bunch nerds talking about frisbees. Just play the game with the discs you like and lay off the controversy.
Sir
It is the pro off-season. This is what makes disc golf online fun.
I can’t believe mvp didn’t come up with a different name once the pdga approved the balance.
Seems to fly simular to streamlines echo.
Just get a buzzz. All u need
is anyone not an MVP fan at this point?
