13:00 , I know exactly what you mean. My crispiest furthest throws feel like I'm barely putting effort in. I'm still trying to get that feeling every throw instead of tensing and muscling distance throws
Slowing down is what helped me the most, we want to throw hard, but just going to a field or open hole and throwing slow and short and slowly powering up is the best way I have found to master form and timing. I'm not a professional
Great video. I can already see that your plant foot has improved over past videos. I also watch the Spin Dr. and really like his tips and tricks. Keep up the good work. Keep bringing those videos. Super helpful.
Today was a great day out there. Didn’t kill it but I found a disc that I lost on Friday and I looked for days literally days . Went out just chill in a good mood hit an early tree and wasn’t mad or anything then looked up and there it was shining down on me. Crazy
Bro, are you me? I had the exact same thing happen yesterday! Lost a disc a week ago, favorite clash mango, hit a tree and it fell out onto the ground! It's not even where I lost it 😅
@@IceBergTVI did a double take and rewound it to make sure I wasn’t hearing things and it turned out I heard correctly hahaha!! Thanks for your videos dude, your quality is very high and it’s been fun to watch you progress throughout your UA-cam journey! Very much appreciated as a viewer, sir!
We’re going to have to get a meet up of some sort of all the UA-cam disc golf coaches, and have an annual roundtable discussion on the current state of form coaching, the most useful tips that students have benefited from, etc. Then we subscribers could watch the interaction of different schools of thought directly, hear Q and A, etc. almost like a panel, but it could be a zoom or something
Front vs back loading results depend on arm speed. At slow speeds, more wrist flexibility is needed to generate spin. At high speeds, over 50, perhas at 60 mph, no matter how tight you try to keep the wrist, it bends anyway from the force of acceleration. Tech disc validates this. Throwing fast with a tight wrist produces as much if not more spin than a loose wrist. Too loose wrist at high speeds causes wild throws. Some people, with years of practice, can get the timing just right with hard throws and loose wrists, but most people can't do it consistently.
12:25 (and basically all other throws) Dylan your form looks much better here than just your last "Simon Says" video! Those 2 days you spent working on your form really helped! Specifically what stands out to me is your slightly more outward "reach back" and complete elimination of rounding. I think you're at the point where you just need to keep working on it. Keep getting those reps in.
pro move giving props to other disc golf you tubers!! been watching spin doctor (and you) for a while - always solid advice plus he seems like a chill dude. both you guy contributing to the growth of the sport . . .
On the front vs back loaded grip topic. Robbie c on one of his recent on the green episodes mentioned that for lower arm speeds the pinch grip can help get a little extra snap and a bit of extra distance where as if you have a higher arm speed then you will need then you will need to do more back loaded to have more grip to hold on to the disc at higher speeds. I think he said a general threshold is about 55 to 60 mph arm speed to go to a back loaded.
Ohh Yeah Dylan looks super crisp. I'm following Jaani (DGSS) as well. He makes great content. Looking at you implementing his stuff is a thrill. Keep rocking Thanks for the content.
Thank you for a great video! Seems like you and I are on the same wavelength in more ways than one. Everyone has heard the saying "If you can't do, teach". I think that's an unfair statement. I think doing and teaching are 2 completely different talents. I think the best teachers are those who have both a talent for teaching and enough experience and forte in the subject matter to know what to teach. DG Disc Doctor is my favorite UA-cam channel for teaching videos. Some of the worst teaching videos I've seen about disc golf tips have come from the top Pros. It's funny that your video is sponsored by that particular disc golf store as I happen to have a disc arriving tomorrow that I bought from that store! It's a coincidence but I find it funny. As per your form, I think you're doing a great job. I'm also on the same journey, but admittedly, far behind you. Keep up the great work, looking forward to more of your videos and best of fortune in all you do.
I always been back loading on my grip I have broken pointer finger…. But what changed my game was the BONAPANE GRIP… only on drivers and fairways everything else is backloaded fan
Spin doctor is great. But for me the backloaded grip only feels good when holding the disc. Trying to throw with it just feels "fluffy" and i get no snap. Aim feels a bit off too. So sad becaus I really like the idea, just does nog seem to work for me 😢
When making major changes like you are doing. Definitely give yourself an allotted amount of time before you start expecting consistency. So you don’t get frustrated. Bad shots are okay. And if you don’t get upset you can actually make adjustments off of them. Spin Dr is the man.
Too crazy. I’ve been back loading for about a month and it’s way more comfortable. I think it was a short by this guy. I need mom work on it but it seems to be working 100 percent better for me.
Blitz has a video where he talks about where to plant your bracelet and so just without a disc maybe practicing where are your foot plants do you feel the most balanced control and power and then you can replicate for over exaggerate that position
@@brinaldi81 bro i trashed my ankle on a jump putt a few months back! I couldn't throw flicks for like a month!!! Stay dedicated to your diet and upper body fitness routine and rehab the heck out of it. Sorry that happened to you
Hey bro if you ever want to do videos of you teaching a true beginner how to get better let me know! Not to get creepy but I’m also in NC and have only been playing for a few months
Promise you if you throw a tech disc you are probably throwing nose up. I throw 430 max and I throw nose up. been trying to figure out how to get the nose down I have tried so many different things.
Scott Stokely once taught about this issue. He made the viewers overcorrect the throw straight to the ground and maybe with a forced anhyzer. Then gradually coming back you'll find the middle point where nose is down and the disc should fly nose down and straight. I find it to be one of the best tips. I might not remember every detail of that but it should help
It's not hard at all to pinch hard and actuate my wrist.... Which might be weird... I can't s ap a shot in foose ball ... But on other hand...I can punch someone in the face /head ... Break bone and skin without any damage to myself as well as arm wrestle men that out bench press me by over 100 lbs....my wrists are solid.... Seems id have issues with moment
Wow. You make me blush.
But also, DAMN that brace of your looks sturdy!

Just sliding the thumb forward instead of pressing down with the tip seems to be enough to do the trick. Probably helps with nose angle too.
