I stayed at Wycliffe Wells with my husband and 3 teenagers. It was a bug ridden mess! No ufo’s, but big dog, bugs in the bed, empty pool with a dead bird in it, drunk workmen and really bad servo food… we loved it!
😂😂
not gonna lie, a hostel in rural Australia is one of the scariest places I've ever been. the people were odd and aggressive in a terrifying way.
So is it a documentary? Great
Spot on, and I’m Australian
Accurate and I was born and raised in Australia.
Ever heard of mick Taylor 😂 good chap he is
@@AustinGGzWolf Creek ?
Guess Julia shoulda turned into Ruth and it woulve went a whole lot differently
by the lighter clip, it might happen
Ruth’s origin story lol
I've been watching a lot of Australian movie here lately, and I gotta say they've all been really good. Some of the ones I listed below are low budget but they're still really good. Especially in the thriller and Horror category. It's something about the Outback, that adds so much to the eeri suspense. The movies Snowtown, Nightingale,Gold, Charlie's Country, mystery road,Gone, the tunnel,Toomelah, the stranger, angel of mine, cargo, predestination, wolf creek movie and series(of course), stateless, hounds of love. Those are some good ones so if you haven't seen them you might want to check them out.
check out to Wake In Fright
Should add 'Talk to me' directors are local to my state.
@texasjaco9385 Check out a late 80s one called ‘Shame’ starting Deborah Lee Furness (who was Mrs Hugh Jackman until v recently.
I’m pretty much going to watch anything with Julia Garner in it, she’s that good, in my opinion. She was electrifying in Ozark. The Assistant also looks well worth a watch.
She's basically the exact same character
I’ve lived this life. Spend 6 months in a remote hotel in outback Queensland. Most feral place I’ve ever visited. Locals ran the roost. Rife with alcoholism and methamphetamine abuse.
Why go then? 😂
@@TraceyMariexx discovered it after the fact. Was amazing money and counted toward our 2nd year visa
@@davidnolan2019 wolf creek was enough to put me off 😂
I lived many years in Australia. I met good people, worked with good people, had my ups and downs and I always tell people Australia is a good place to be in. I travelled to the Australian outback a few times and people were just nice and kind.
I dont GET IT why people go in australia for vacation , dangerous enviroment from weather people and animals everything is trying you to kill 🤣😁😁😂
Can someone please explain to me why do I have to watch an Ad for a movie Ad???
😂
Great question lol wish I knew
As a Canadian woman who stopped over in a few very country towns in New South Wales and Queensland late at night....fucking yeah. This isn't far off the real thing.
During a trip through rural NSW, my boyfriend (an Aussie guy) who had long hair, and artist-lefty vibe, stopped at a traditional pub at about 9pm. When we both ordered vodkas with lime at the bar, the bartender immediately had a go at him: 'So you drink the same thing she does eh?' And he had a laugh. Then, a creeply old dude with his friend at the end of the bar chimed in: "I think he's a bit light on his feet? Ordering 'POOFTER' drinks. HAR HAR HAR Ya sure you got a man there Doll?" My bf knew laughing along was safer. So he did. I said: "Oh he's definitely a man!" We were gonna eat there, but changed our minds after the drink just found a hotel...and even the hotel was creepy and full of roaches.
Stick to the cities and be careful in the outback kids.
I lived in a village that was more coastal Its all the same . Its either a battle ground with them or you totally ignore them . They feed of your responses They want to be noticed
Stay away from the pubs, just a bunch of dickhead drunks and bogans. I grew up in remote QLD town, some great people, but you go to the local and some of those people turn into absolute grubs. Had a few foreigners pass through working behind the bars, the blokes in town would look at them like meat and treat them like shit too. I never tip, but I would always leave those girls one or shout a knock off drink, just to show a bit of kindness.
Sounds like u cant take a joke harden up will ya
Liv is a prime example of the type of friend you should never have!
Obviously inspired by Hotel Coolgardie. Definitely give that doco an uncomfortable watch.
Not inspired, based on.
@illoggycal thanks for trying. But no, it's not based on that doco 😆
@@Liam-w4h4w except that yes, it is. 😁 It doesn’t have to state “BASED ON A TRUE STORY” for it to be clear right away. It’s not even a secret and they’re not like “oh no, just a coincidence”.
@illoggycal I said inspired by doco. You said no it's based on the doco. It's not "based on the doco". Try again, champ. It's inspired by real events that occurred in the doco. Not based on the doco. You don't know know what your comment means 😂 try again, numpty.
Oh my lover ❤ From Ozark
If nothing, this is damn good trailer!
JULIA GARNER... IMMA IN !!!! YASSSS... NO QUESTIONS ASKED.
Great film, definitely worth a watch
big wake in fright vibes
Julia Garner AND Toby Wallace! Young talented actors so cannot wait!
Toby wallace was awesome in Boys in the trees
For an Australian film (I’m Australian) it was really well done, and worth a watch. To be honest, it wasn’t as edgy as the trailer makes it out. And it really makes us look like a bunch of drunks, and women abusers.
What and you lot aren't?
It's a feminist film, so of course it's trying to construct reality, rather than portray it. But I think the author achieved something he/she probably didn't intend: the working class is indeed a little rapey. Finally a film that gets it
Considering 1-5 women are killed in Australia every week each year for years now by a partner or other male family member...it's an issue worth exploring. Not to mention we've had to create 'Domestic abuse leave' into labour laws to account for how common it is. I know there are tons of good Aussie men, but still, we aren't ok.
We are
I have worked in towns like this over the years and it is pretty darn close to reality, alot of voilent dudes with very fragile egos
Teeth is the man!
Yeah I wouldn't mess with rural Aussies, they're feral AF
Reminded me of Lina and Steph from The Coolgardie doco movie
So basically Hotel Coolgardie retold and fictionalized.
Well, it’s based on Hotel Coolgardie…. 🤣
Perfect movie 10/10
It's a nice movie. I'd been expecting a bit more of a thriller. The events happened to the girls were realistic.
it was a very good movie 👌
Liv, is the type of person that's makes for a dangerous friend, especially when alcohol is involved. She can't read the room for sh*t, people that displays bad or peculiar behavior. She defends and makes excuses for them, then encourages you to give them the benefit of the doubt. Then you have to constantly keep an eye on her when you party together, because she's so nieve and trusting. She makes extremely selfish dumbsh*t decisions, where she needs rescuing every 5mins. She has no problem getting soggy soaking wet drunk in environments that she needs be cautious in, and pay attention. A type of friend that will lie to you about where your going, or acts like she knows all the people she's fixing to take you around. But it ends up being that she barely knows one person, and gets you in sketchy situations. I'm no babysitter, and like to be around like minded people. That can handle themselves like an adult, can hold their liquor, and has lived enough life to know better. She looks out for you just as much, as you look out for her. A person that can notice the red flags immediately, and isn't one for the bullsh*t. They don't lead you into sticky situation and unknown territory. She acts like a lady, she's of good character, has morales, and can stand on her own. Those are the type of woman I like to have around me, and call a friend.
1000000% agree with this whole lot!!! She is definitely the type of friend you want to avoid at all costs
After watching this I don't ever see myself going to Australia.....fuck that , what a freaky kip 😮
It’s a movie. Entertainment. Real life is not like entertainment.
Feels a little too real. Might give me flashbacks.
Based on a documentary
Art is based off reality
Snowflake.
Looks good but not playing anywhere near me 😅
Its in OTT platform now😂
So basically its the same thing going to Slab City California but wasting money on plane tickets 😂😂😂
Thought the same
Plot overdone is so many movies its predictable.
Hotel Coolgardie, that was the most uncomfortable docco i have ever watched
maybe not much story but its ok to watch the place adventure its an scary adventure.seems real
I liked it, nothing amazing and a bit of a stretch to call it psychological thriller and rushed ending but definitely a couple of disturbing moments
DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE. YOU WILL REGRET EVERY MINUTE YOU WASTED OF YOUR LIFE!
Jessica is great
You don't even have to be in the outback to find scary Aussie pubs. Outer edge of Melbourne you'll meet plenty of weirdos.
I’ve been living in Melbourne for the last 3 months… any weird pubs to recommend?
Film için yorumlara bakem dedim herkes gittiği yerlerle ilgili yorumlar yapmış napsam izlesemmi izlemesemmi şaşırdım🤔🤔
Liv made me pretty furious.. u don't need that type of friends 🤮🤮
This is a straight up copy of the doco ‘ Hotel Coolgardie’ may as well watch the real thing ..
I liked the acting, but... I just don't get the movie. The only "terrifying" thing for me was the remote location. Okay, maybe I'm just jealous, but I wouldn't have minded some attention from some of the locals tbh😋
Goes to show you can’t trust rotten tomatoes scores… bunch of pompous critics that try to see what others don’t so they can feel superior. This movie was a flop but scored 88% in Rotten tomatoes.
It was better than poor things
Just watched this film
The tone was perfect and the acting was good
But then all of a sudden….
NOTHING HAPPEND!??? 😂
Wtf!??
I want the last 90 minutes of my life back. I have no problem with anticlimactic endings. But don’t make a trailer like this if that’s how it’s going to pan out.
It is literally false advertising.
@@gregbearne2195 Shouldn't have watched the trailer. It's a thriller, you know what you're getting into.
What do u mean nothing?? Is this movie not OK? 😳
@@gaaraardy3883 oh i have to say, its very RARE for me to stick with a movie all the way through without being distracted or going on my phone
So I will give it mad credit for that!
I wouldn’t be expressing my disappointment in the ending if i wasnt so invested in the duration of the film like I was
The tone was PERFECT. The characters were REAL! The acting was tip top and it had you in suspense all the way through
So true LOL PATHETIC ENDING... if you can even call it that. "The movie stopped playing" might be a better explanation for it.
Bro this movie was straight trash. Literally nothing about it was thrilling. And it’s not even that much of a drama it’s some bs.
No one killed jwssica
If u haven’t watched , u don’t have to , so basically nothing happened . Wasted my time , great acting tho
This movies was not worth watching. Acting was great by everyone, but nothing happened in the movie! It made no sense! Trust me you will be wasting time by watching this
There's always a few people like you. You think your review is important but you're really just exposing yourself as someone who shouldn't be taken seriously.
@@davin1287 and there’s always a few people like yourself 😂😂💥👍🏽 fool
Opinions are like A holes. Everyone has one, nut most aren’t worth your time.
I agree, 100%!
@davin1287 Movies are subjective, and @silverandblackentertainment is free to express his/her opinion, just like you have expressed yours, even if yours did come across quite hateful, and from a place of internal confusion and conflict, and, I doubt taken very serious by anyone, but he/she is probably right, it does seem quite like one of those shite movies lol
Movie was so lame, kept waiting for something to happen and nothing did. Waste of time.
Thank u
I didn't like it, such a boring movie.
Not seen this yet and it might indeed be garbage, but when you get 'adults' saying a film was 'boring' and 'nothing happened' etc it invariably means it was really good, thoughtful and has some intelligence. Unlike the 'adults' who no doubt demand car chases, explosions and heroes etc...
My bame is aakah karki
A movie about 2 Canadians who couldnt handle the way these Aussies were..the preview makes it seem like it's something else..2 out of 10👎🏼
Some of the worst trailers again it tells you nothing what is going on
Lemme guess the ending; the women survive after beating up men who are 10 times stronger than them 🙄
Ya they look like feminist 😂
Nope but I would've preferred that, the movie is about how men make women uncomfortable and find it funny, specifically in less populated areas that are less progressive or modern with their outlooks and the ending is somewhat anti climatic, obviously the movie does not mean all men, but is addressing a reality that women have to deal with. Despite the anti climax it is a very well made film
Very disappointing film, it lacked the suspense it claims it has. Not going to rush to each watch this again. The film had some much potential and could have gone to a completely different level but unfortunately it didn’t.
This movie was a waste of time and bundles.
Typical feminist " man bad" movie with a meh ending, I'm seeing it on a lot of the best of the Year lists but it was skippable to me, its for feminists by feminists , men this aint for you
Complete bollocks. 90 minutes of your life you’ll never get back. A few nice shots - easily attainable by pointing a camera in any direction in the wilderness & big sky. Tiresome characters, mostly wildly unfulfilled shallow entirely predictable storylines, ends very suddenly without any of the promised bloodbath payoff as if the film makers literally ran out of money?? Or just lost interest??Needed another 15 or 20 minutes to tie up all the loose ends, kill off the bad guys, add some cool twist etc. Complete lazy cop out ending. The 10 people in the cinema on opening Friday night were clearly short changed.
I agree with all your takes except that it was horrible. Ending was extremely lackluster and yes, zero payoff which hurts it BAD, but up until the end it was done very well in my opinion... but they didn't stick the hardest and most vital part like you said, the end.... seems like they forgot about that part in the writing or as you said ran out of money lol
One of the worst most boring movies I’ve ever seen (and I just watched “fall” before this) terrible
RUTH.
Another misandry laden film, brilliant.
Looks dum I agree dude
You saying the movie looks dumb and then spelling dumb incorrectly is nasty work
Feminist garbage entertainment. All movies are terrible now
