Please listen to yourself. You are correct if that is the way you want to live and have a marriage. How about stepping back and seeing how consuming this is? Life is a whole bunch of work, suffering, discipline, with some good times mixed in. You can take this strategy and all it entails and my I say best of luck. I am pretty certain I am opting out. I am not a robot, nor do I want to follow a script for love. It just isn't worth it to me. I dreamt of love and marriage my whole life until I did it lol. Sadly it just isn't for many of us.
the opinion part depends on the context. like when i was designing an app i took my friend's opinion on some parts of it. i didn't agree at first second but after i thought about it i found he was right and i told him so. good constructed opinion from experts or people who want good for you deserve to think about it open minded with critical analysis. but still these are usually less than 5% of the opinion you hear outside of a professional environment

I think the root of it is the man has to not give a fuck. dont be a bitch basically. be ready to walk away. that means you have to know your worth and be confident you are totally cool w that other path. which you should be for sure. if you are wealthy [spiritually, tough, physically] . if you are not then the problem is simply yourself haha
its common for boys to not know their worth / not build their worth then think that losing their girlfriend will DOOM them. in that instance, it becomes doomed self-referentially because of that.
