I’m sad that this bombed in theaters, I honestly thought this movie was good
People want to watch Max, not some woman pretending to be him.
The film was honestly a downgrade from Fury Road...
Flat, single angle filmed action scenes to hide the lack of practical sets...
Horrendous CGI that just pulls you out of the action whenever there is...
And Jesus Christ the characters, especially Furiosa have the uncanny valley effect when their eyes are so bug eyed and white it makes Alita Battle Angel look normal in comparison...
@Luke-mq6mn When you say "people" your really speaking for curtain people while others enjoyed seeing furiosa in fury road and this film. The shawshank Redemption also flopped. do you want to speak for "the people" and explain why that happened and tell us that we don't want to see that film either?
This movie was great
@@Luke-mq6mnwhat a sad life you live lol
anyone who decided to wait until the film is available digitally should regret it because hearing the sound of non-stop roaring engines in the cinema was poetry for the ears
nah, this movie had nothing on Fury Road sound design
@@lxdead5585 why even compare the two?
@@JW-jn4if why not? Same director, same universe, same characters xD What not to compare? xD
1:49 that’s my favorite shot in the movie

One thing I love about Hemsworth's portrayal is we get these hints that despite all the awful AWFUL things Dementus does, he's not a complete psychopath like Joe. He does genuinely help the Rig escape the angry mob here, granted he NEEDS them to deliver his message to Joe, but it shows he's capable of rational thinking. and When he tortures Jack, he doesn't seem to revel in it, he seems to almost disassociate, as if he's trying to pretend it's not happening.
I also get the impression he is TERRIFIED of the Horde, he may be the leader, but he has no REAL control over them, not like Joe does. It makes me think the reason he does what he does to Jack and Furiosa's mother is not out of needless cruelty, but to present himself as someone the Horde should fear, to keep them in line.
It's been pointed out he is a a parallel to Max. And one of Max's first lines in Fury Road is "I exist in this wasteland, reduced to one instinct: survive" And I think that fits Dementus as well, but while Max stays a lone drifter and scavenger to survive, Dementus tried to accrue power as part of his survival strategy, and it blew up in his face.
What he did there isn't out of kindness or anything but rather a means to get them to leave immediately without the gas. He basically took the food and water from the rig without having to pay with gas. He could just easily send a rider like before, if he really intends to deliver a message.
I think he just basiclly went insane, as the title suggests. He went MAD. When he was torturing jack you see him dissociate and lose track of time and said he's bored.
He went completely mad! It was a strategy He leaved them without gas and got what he wanted (food) before started his much wanted war! He organised a meeting order to weaken the mine (bullet farm or whatever in english). And it worked. The leaders was distracted at the rock to figure out whats going on and he took over the place.
Troughout the whole movie sinc he realised the rock he wanted seize control of it. When he figured out about the other two place he wanted it all! After succeed capturing the oil reserves. He tried to seize the other twoo too. It took a while but eventually got strong enough.
Build machinery and train people requires time.
So easily tricked and full of self-destructive empathy.
For those who didn’t see this film in either a Dolby theater or an Imax, you missed out on a theatrical event that doesn’t happen very often.
IMAX was incredible
I saw it in those theaters twice and yeah 😱😱🤯🤯😱
Currently my favorite movie of the year easily
Saw both in imax and in dolby atmos (stezzano, arcadia), the dolby atmos experience was incredible, the body literally vibrated during some action scenes (like at the sound of the thundebike of furiosa mother)
@@luigibonini The first few minutes the Dolby theater I went to started vibrating, I definitely noticed it and took me out of the movie for a bit. But after I settled down and was engrossed in the film, all the booming sound and vibrations became part of the movie for me. It was such an immersive experience.
Fury Road is still better. Stream this on TV and have no regrets not going to see it in theatres.
Cult Classic in a few years. Miller is the real MVP.
>j-j-just a few more years!!!
You wish
This was so good. Was so happy to see gastown and bulletfarm expanded upon, excellent movie to pair with fury road and Hemsworth is golden here!!!
@ 1:39 Thats the same guy who gets lifted up to the citadel at the end of Fury Road. Same actor at least.
the one that looks like a meth head?
My niece and I had a blast watching this movie - she doesn't even like action movies! Furiosa's willpower was incredible, she could endure what nobody else could imagine - that was her supernatural strength. As a proud uncle, I also love this strong female protagonist a la Ripley in Alien - I can tell it's what made it so easy for my niece to connect to this movie even though it's in a genre she'd usually be uninterested in. 10/10
Dude this movie was freaking fantastic! I just wish it didn’t bomb.
@@ramblinnernd5905 it didnt bomb, i like it
@@eduardfonsek9406 I’m not at all saying it was bad. Not even by a long shot. I just mean it didn’t make enough money back therefore it’s a “box office bomb”.
Thats the thing about her and Max, both have insane willpower to get through almost anything physical, but while Furiosa is more for hope at least at first, Max willpower comes from rage and partly madness
❤
14 years and Demetus still has his muscles 💪
I mean bud, in the most fantastical movie I’ve ever seen that is absolute the furthest thing from reality, where they somehow have complicated machinery with no water, your chief complaint is his muscle retention is the most unrealistic part?
People are so hard to please, this is why we don't get nice things.
EXACTLY, the people complaining have pretty much openly admitted that they don’t care about what George Miller wants to do with the franchise HE CREATED. But just wants the franchise to stay stagnant, not evolve and revert to the Mad Max films they’re nostalgic for.
Really Max and Furiosa are the dual protagonists of Fury Road. Their arcs complement each other's. It's like a Lethal Weapon movie or any other classic two hander.
Honestly, if someone considers a movie to be a competition for narrative supremacy among its main characters, then they don't understand how to appreciate a piece of storytelling.
People don't want artistic expression. They want junk. That's the sad fact. This film is a product of love and good taste. It was met with indifference by a spoiled global population that doesn’t have any reference points or taste to speak of. We didn't deserve this film.
If you know you know, Furiosa delivers everything from the previous movie. There hasn't been a movie that make me stay away from my phone since 2020, Furiosa has a good story line that correlate the previous one from minute one.
This movie has haunted my mind ever since I saw it in the theater. Something about that rage in Furiosa's eyes , it really emerges you
How much were you paid for commenting? You probably gave MM3 glowing accolades?
No, that’s just her looking like sid from ice age
emerges ??? you mean immerses ..... ffs
I don't know why people are so pissed, but think this movie is gonna age like a wine. Awesome movie. Very Psychoatic.
Because people just can’t appreciate something properly.
One thing I loved about this movie was that constant thumping in the soundtrack throughout many of the very drawn out action sequences. Really set that intense and focused mood. Seeing this in the theater was a very unique experience.
0:06 that dog looks so CG. LOL
I loved this movie in theaters. I can't wait to rewatch at home with the volume cranked up to 11!
Average visit to the supermarket in Australia.
This was a treat in IMAX.
This is absolutely superb directing.
I'm glad they showed gas town and the bullet farm , I've always wanted to know what it looked liked
Ever since furious ran into the desert instead of going to gas Town 😊
awesome film. regret not seeing it in imax
This movie was awesome!
This movie was amazing and I loved it. Butttt I can see why people want to see Max and not someone else trying to take the spotlight. Still can’t believe this film flopped, probably is the best film of the year.
I thought this was good but I find it hilarious how Chris Hemsworth thinks doing an impression of his grandad is character acting
He played good in this movie
I like the voice, as an Aussie you hear it everywhere and something about his voice just cuts through everything, I quite enjoyed his take imo
I legit thought this was a trap , dementus was going to lure the warwig somewhere dangerous
Arguably it was, part of a bigger trap. Dementus stages chaos (or willingly lets it erupt) at Gastown so they can’t fuel the war rig, and demands a meeting. Immortan Joe, fed up with Dementus, sends the rig to the Bullet Farm to load up for war. Dementus planned the diversion and is there waiting for them.
Just a distraction to take the citadel, well played
1:58. Nice deep song.
This is a good movie
This has a very similar lines to Mad Max 2 when Max is talking about the tanker full of gas and getting out of the settlement.

ONE of the best movie never seen ^^,, iam so sad for box office.
Loved this film but I think miller focused to much on cgi in this movie
Really highlights how outside the spectrum of good and evil, there’s incompetence.
Fun movie. Too bad it didnt do well.
Weird tho, the CGI looks terrible on a small screen but in theaters it looked OK.
@@Guardian_Cochayuyo CGI was terrible, cartoonish where as Fury Road felt more "live".
@@cthis4786 Cuz CGI in Fury Road was used to enhance the practicals. All the action scenes and chases were done in traditional way. In Furiosa spinoff nobody asked for, they just went for CGI
WASTELANDS MUST COMING!💯👌
2034 maybe
by then this might be a reality...
Damentus look like Chris Hemsworth
I was a great movie. I have no idea why people wouldn’t have liked this if they liked the first one.
This movie deserves so much more.
lol Dementus is such a bumbling fool
this movie is a very large quantity of abundance!
A copious quantity!
It looks good. However, I miss the old film grain and subtle apocalypse of the original trilogy. Something about the look at feel of those films screamed this could actually happen. These new ones are more like graphic novel movies. Not bad but not nearly as immersive in my opinion.
I like to believe this was all smoke and mirrors, he proceeds to go from this to taking the Bullet Farm while the War Rig is heading to the Citadel. No way he organized such a raid while his people are in such disarray
That’s an amazing scene
I didn’t see the movie yet. And I don’t know why ?
I loved Fury Road and I’m a fan of the Road Warrior and the first Mad Max .
It’s still playing in small theatre in the multiplex
I don’t know why it wasn’t selling more tickets. However most people don’t know the name Furiosa to be honest ?
it's a terrible movie due to bad CGI and terrible cast IMO, Fury Road was better because it had a stronger cast and action scenes felt more visceral. Chris is like Thor in this movie with a weird voice, hated every scene he was in. Anya was boring and couldn't stand looking at her bug eyes. None of them could propel this movie, instead made the movie feel slow and predictable.
@@cthis4786 hello. I noticed watching some scenes on the internet the film had a very surreal feeling and looks like a lot of enhanced cgi back drops and added elements making the film kind of simular to a animated film. And the director having such intense focus constantly in its choreography maybe can make it less appealing
Road Warrior I like better the real environments
I can agree Fury Road at least balanced the practical better with the CGI aspects and not relying heavily on the CGI and color grading
I have to agree the young Furosa was more interesting as a actor than the adult Furiosa. She barely changed facial expression.
I can see your points.
The fact is the movie theatre experience is gone. It's over. COVID killed it. Why go to a theatre when you can watch it at home 6 weeks later? It has completely changed.
I think the movie theatre experience is awesome. Just far too expensive.
Inside Out 2 is already at $800+ million at the box office lol, there's a legit chance it'll cross $1.5 billion when all is said and done. Despicable Me 4 is also going to be a monster. There's also Deadpool & Wolverine on the way. Box office isn't dead, it just suffers hiccups now and then.
He went completely mad! It was a strategy He leaved them without gas and got what he wanted (food) before started his much wanted war! Build machinery and train people requires time.
Was I the only one that when Dementus spoke through the mega phone I couldn’t understand a word he was saying? When I watch it in the theaters all it sounded like he was just saying “Holla” over and over again.
You’re the only one
That tanker gets bigger each movie
People buy expensive home entertainment systems who now dont go to theaters .
it didnt really bomb on release people just didnt go like 20yrs ago
I hope this movie is saved with the home release. Miller has another one planned and it would be a shame if it was never made just because of low box office at a time when no one wants to go the theater in general.
I'd just go see for Chris the warlord fk yeah..😎🤛
I think theres a good movie in furiosa but it fell under the weight of furiosa.
We needed more time on the supporting characters that we all love like joe, people eater, bullet farmer etc. And the world they run. I couldnt give a crap about her revenge i just wanted to see more of the world they made.
You're complaining about the movie being heavy on furiosa when literally that's the whole point of this movie
Thor on crack
Looks strange, but I can't put my finger on why. Too much greenscreen probably.
They didnt use greenscreen, this was filmed in an average outback town
Simple...bad CGI...
Just look at all the characters, especially Furiosa, their eyes are most of the time ultra white and bug-eyed...and when they aren't standing against a green screened background it's always super jarring to see...
@@NecroticGamer117 its gonna sound weird but I like it honestly, the film felt like a TV show cut down into a single great movie with all the best parts, but it still keeps the TV budget look.

You could tell what scenes were green screen & CGI. 5 out of 10. Best bits were the tributes to MM 1&2. 5 sec of the Interceptor & Tim " Johnny the Boy" Burns.
Need Mel back asap
Notice the 3-legged dog? One of George Miller's old ideas for The Road Warrior that wound up being scrapped was for Max's dog to have 3 legs, that might have been a reference to it.
Given how the movie had nothing to do with Mad Max, then why include the name Mad Max in the title? Could it have something to do with the fear that this movie needed to piggy back off the popularity of the Mad Max franchise?
Mad Max is the IP, its the brand that encapsulates the whole 'universe', not just the main protagonist, that includes all characters, cars and settings in the wasteland.
besides, Mad Max 2 was only called 'The Road Warrior' in a lot of countries and the audience didn't even know it was a sequel to Mad Max, so yeah, sounds pretty reasonable to add 'mad max saga' in there.

This scene was so pointless. Dragged the pacing down.
It wasn't pointless. It showed off how Dementus is falling apart and losing control of the horde/gas town. It sets up the bullet town thing too.
@@amanhasnousername1614 It didn’t go anywhere and why should the audience care? Why would anyone be emotionally invested in Dementus’ power struggle?
Praetorian Jack? He’s another cereal box character with no direction. No pulse. Why did the camera pull away when the dogs were unleashed on him? It’s a R film!!!!
In the Road Warrior the focus was one thing… that fat tank of gas. And then we got a final awesome car chase with real gore!
@@lordhumungus3578Maybe avoided showing it because Miller is older and people generally develop more empathy as they age. Also sometimes showing restraint can be more effective because your imagination can be stronger than the actual image of it
@@Handonforehead Hmmm… I think you nailed it. Wish more brainy people like you!
What I get out of this scene is that Furiosa had the opportunity and the means to shoot Dementus with the boom stick gifted by Praetorian Jack. But Jack being the good guy and go-between with Immortan Joe eventually led to Jack’s demise and Furiosa’s loss of a limb.
