- Here's a few more thoughts I had on the Apache sprayer 🙂
Some Pros and Cons (now I barely ran it long enough)
Con: 2 wheel drive
Con: 70/30 weight ratio (stuck easy)
Con: rougher
Con: Not as refined (has rattles and squeeks)
Con: In transport, bad visibility (from boom)
Con: Powershift can be jerky
Con: It wants to push the front tires when steering
Pro: It's light and nimble (29,000lbs)
Pro: The powershift because of its power to the ground (285-300hp)
Pro: quieter than we thought
Pro: Comfortable Heated/cooled seat
Pro: Push button operator station
Pro: The Raven Viper 4Plus, Hawkeye, XTR autoboom (basically the Raven operating system)
Pro: the Pommier Booms (capable of 132ft)
Pro: And the biggest is its $ 2-300k cheaper than than it's nearest competitor.
So those are my thoughts on it, for the short time I ran it.. Follow me in Patreon, its fun and I upload all the time. 🙂www.patreon.co...
This is the highlight of my day when I get a notification that you've posted a video
Haha thank you 🙂
Me too Stuart. Mike has become my favorite UA-cam channel.
He's my favorite UA-camr farmer because he explains so much👍
Agreed as a fellow 🇨🇦 farmer over to the east here in the Ottawa Valley Ontario I love to see some of the similar practices on larger scale of course and the many differences
@@adamfindlay9632Are we talking farming simulator? 🤔
Mike, I don't think I ever told you how much I enjoy your channel. What you are doing here is actually showing us, farmers who can't play with expensive toys, how to operate and what to expect from every piece of machine! Massive respect, Mike!!! What I would personally like to see, is you operating a vintage mechanical tractor. For some reason, I can't see you in a dusty loud cabin, and it would make my day. Thank you for everything you are doing. Keep up the good work!
Great videos Mike. We don't farm anymore so I really look forward to watching.
Southern Saskatchewan has it’s own unique definition of WINDY💨💨💨😂🤣
Oh ya the last pro “it’s $2-300,000 cheaper” gotta love ya Mike 👍😜
Excellent review and video. You can tell Mike is a properly experienced machine man and really knows what he is talking about by the way he describes the subtleties of operating the sprayer, and all his other equipment for that matter.
Was super excited for the follow up. Thanks for doing it unbelievably fast. Channel is growing fast, keep up the good work and good luck with this years crop!!!
Yaaa, I told all those Welker Farms viewers to check out the Mike Mitchell channel. It was MEEEE!!! (only kiddin)😂🤣😂🤣
you've definitely become my favorite Farm youtube channel!
Mike - thanks for the review. Price difference on the Apache is a big plus for me. That alone overshadows the visibility and 2 wheel drive. Thks for taking your time to make the video
Very interesting as usual. I don't farm but I like learning about agriculture in terms I can understand which is great. I also eat many grains, especially wheat. I eat black beans quite a bit, and those together give a good nutrition profile along with non-starchy vegetables such as spinach. I did it for health and lost 50 lb, came off blood pressure medication with doctor supervision, normal blood pressure, didn't need to start a statin for cholesterol because I fixed a problem with that. Heart rate was high without a beta blocker which I don't need and heart rate is good now. 3+ years healthy and I"m not sick of the food yet!
WFPB low fat diet??
Really like your very honest reviews.
Best content on the interweb lol
Got to love that Cummins power!!!! Especially when it's Cummins software running the engine.
Crops look great ,good job
The most important question is how is the seat comfortability is number one when you spend 12 plus hours a day in one of these machines the comfort factor is easily the most important. Good job mike your crops look like they are coming in nicely that field you were in in the middle of the night also looked like it didn’t have to many weeds you do good work. All sprayers are rough especially when you have a full load in the tank sloshing around.
I would give up comfort to save 100k.
Thanks Mike 👍👍
Very nice review on sprayer
Hey Mike... Would love to see you review a HARDI RUBICON on the farm. That thing looks a beast with luxury !!
Crops are looking good!
Cool video. Always look forward to your videos ever since i looked up the case vs JD quad track pull off even tho we didnt see the jd vs case tug off.. hmmm hahah guess well have to wait n see. 👌🤙🤙
You should look into the Challenger Rogators and the Fendt Rogators... best sprayers over here in the UK
Looks like a really nice sprayer! i like the appearance of it! from outside anywayz!💯🤘🙄
I didn’t think SLOW was in your wheelhouse.😂🤣🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️
JD R4045 is very noisy in the cab, so guessing the 60 isn't any better. Apache for sure has it's place, limit to how many high dollar toys an outfit can afford. Sometimes, good enough, is in fact good enough.
WOW that is a lot less expensive Mike!!!
Really like the look and setup of the touch screen counsole
Great video. I like your not bias and just tell it how it is
you forgot the most important question, how is the sound system?!?!
Better than the Case, but not as good as the Deere! Haha
Mike Mitchell what about the fendt lol my fendts system BUMPS
Fendt I think is slightly better yes
Great video, Mike! 👍 - Doug in Iowa
Nice video! Thanks for share
the push skid is from the posi track rear end. and that apche weighs less full than your case sprayer next to it when empy. apache = boss of a sprayer
Looks like a really nice machine
Never boring Mike interesting features with Apache, weight n only 2WD is definitely tricky on rolling hills. Did you hear that Lemken ceasing sprayer production especially Nova you were looking at Agritechnica.
The reason it’s hard to turn is because it has a limited slip differential and you have duals on pull back on the throttle when turning and you won’t have an issue
You are never boring. Great video, tell Ashton hi. When is the wedding?
It must be a nice change going from the 4.8 mph planting speeds to the 13 or so mph you run in the sprayer.
Yes.. Haha I like it all
In Germany is Apache 207 a Rapper not a Sprayer 😂
One of their assembly plants is a stone’s throw from me. There’s actually not as many around me as you’d think though
More of a farmers srayer in the 10 to 15k acres a year. Different compared to a commercial style like the red green and yellow. Have you demo a vector yet?
Too many guys don't understand that when its windy. Always want to go fast but the pressure is high and the water droplets are small and lots of drift
Hi Mikey, all the way from S Saskatchewan, great video again, with clear story! Speedy machine, and engine sounds clean, wow :). Quiet machine is allways nice indeed. As you say much cheaper machine with good autoboom. Now we can see and right so these lights at the front are very tiny. Maybe the direction can be adjusted (upward) so that they light the road a little bit further ahead? Ar maybe machine can be extended with stronger LED lights at the front? Understand that no four wheel drive is a miss in corners. Appreciate.
Thanks for the video Mike 👍 I’m thinking you are not making out to good with the Amazone sprayer you have not mentioned them much. Care to elaborate? Just curious. Seems as though you could deal with the cons on the Apache considering the cost compared to a red or Johnny popper.
If you follow the comments on each of his videos there's a lot of questions answered there. The Amazone got sent back - broken boom. Beyond that I haven't seen any more elaboration.
Mike you don't have to say "I'm not gonna waste your time" cause obviously we don't think our time is wasted cause we tune in.I don't like the plastic tank ( i know you can get steel option) does it have automatic tank clean out like the deere's have?I was surprised at all the rattling and happily surprised at how much lugging power even at low rpms it had anyway through the video and liked the console display.
Yes it has rattles... I am glad you guys were able to pick those out.. Also, yes I would get stainless steel aswell.
And I do believe it does clean the tank similar to deere and case.. It so cleans the sight tube line
Ok! i was wondering what the valve was on top of the sight tube. Those things have to be changed practicaly every week if you wanna see them clearly.
Needs some lights out on the boom and a light bar
Just gettin time to watch video
I like to have the boom folded out just sitting without any autoboom on and throw it hard up and down at the tip to get an idea of how it rolls and returns to center.
Maybe a Fendt Rogator coming? 🤔
Sounds mint
it seems like a good machine,, quiet is frist thing i noticed,, after tractors,,
Nice riding with you Mike. Honest evaluation. Appreciate it. Being that much cheaper.......would you consider swapping the Case out for it? Oh, and how many gallons does it hold. I think I missed that? Have a good weekend.
Thanks mike. Even though I dont farm, I enjoy your video especially your honest reviews of equipment. Who owns apache?
It's a demo unit
@@mikemitchell2554 I think he ment, is apache part of AGCO, New Holland of John Deere?
Ohh.. I think it's independent
@@mikemitchell2554 thanks mike want some wind
Mike have you looked at the sprayers AG TRUCKS and Equipment makes? They are made in Great Falls Montana. We have had one for three years and have had very good luck with it. Ours is 2000 gal 120 ft boom.
Another option is too buy af agrifac endurance, dutch quality💪🤪
Or Hardi Rubicon ;)
@@KNJensen Or the smaller Hardi Evo model if he wants something in the same size range as the Apache 1240.
Hardi is available with airbags for a smoother ride.
The Danish company Hardi, as well as the Dutch company Agrifac, are both owned by the French company Exel-Industries. 4 years ago, Exel-Industries also bought the American ET Works who makes the Apache sprayers. So now ET Works/Apache is owned by the same company as Hardi and Agrifac as well as several other crop sprayer manufacturers.
From exel-industries website: "Backed by our portfolio of brands, HARDI, EVRARD, BERTHOUD, TECNOMA, CARUELLE, NICOLAS, SEGUIP, THOMAS, MATROT, CMC, AGRIFAC and APACHE, EXEL Industries is one of the worldwide leaders in agricultural spraying equipment. "
Moin, psi,gal/acres? I come from germany.I am interested in the application🤔 is Differential from us.Thanks 👍
Looks like 10 gal/acre. Probably running anywhere from 35-50 psi depending on what he has it set at.
@@jacobl1657 👍
Hi Mike... And a good Saturday to you.. Just made cookies.. Hands you a chocolate chip cookie... Munch... Munch... Modern farm technology is amazing.. Thank you for the ride ❤️
Can you do a machine tour ?
Do you use amazone when spraying crops?
Hello Mike , great video on the sprayer .I was wondering if the cabs are sealed from spay reaching the operator . Take care .see Ya .
well 200k cheaper ... what’s the cost of a deere sprayer then?
Around $500-550k USD last time I checked......and that was before Deere came out with their new bigger sprayer. Machinery costs have gotten out of control. Becoming more economical to run used or start looking for off brand like this Apache.
$200k/$300k cheaper !! wow. That should have been the only talking point since it does the job.
Right on....👍😎
The size of your farm, I would expect to see you using a John Deere R4060 or a Hardi Rubicon- those both spray at up to 25 mph, and the Rubicon is a 155 foot boom! 😳
Cover a LOT more ground, like 300 acres/hr...
Actually just finished the video, where you mentioned your brother has a 4060- in card playing parlance, maybe you can see his 4060, and raise him a Hardi Rubicon? That thing looks like a monster! Maybe Hardi N.A. would bring out one for you to evaluate... 🤔 ... and the 4WD and power would probably eat up those hills you have up there... plus a 9000 liter tank between fills...
I don't spray at night. Most chemicals post don't work unless putting on pre's.
That side console with de monitor look really good and clean. What up with the nozzels? Are they pulsing ?
Probably ulv units
He said the nozzles where Raven Hawkeye
Are you going to demo an amazone panterra it looks like a solid build sprayer. Nice video btw.
Enjoyed it
would love to see a video on that deere sprayer
You need Tim The Tool Man Taylor to add MORE LIGHTS to your sprayer. hau, hau, hau🐷🐽
Side to side visibility. Suppose a guy could mount a couple of cameras on either side. No intersection crashin'.
Do you guys use tender trailers (i would be surprised if you didn't) if so could you show them and how they are set up ? I am looking for ideas, i have to build 3 for our operation ;)
Mike, do they sell the Hardi Rubicon in Canada? 48m/150ft boom and 9000 liter tank...
Would you say it is comparable to a John Deere R4045? It is hard for me to spend the extra money on the Deere again, currently running the John Deere 4830 and I’m convinced it is one of the worst sprayers ever made.
I am not sure... I feel that 4045 would still be better, 4 wheel drive for one..🤷♂️
Ok the 4wd would be nice, my 4830 is pretty much only a 2wd machine, get into the mud and it doesn’t have enough power to spin the front wheels.
You need to jump in that 4060. I demo'd one about a week ago, and was seriously impressed. Was so nice to run i almost felt guilty, like i wasn't really working.
I know, it looks awesome
Luckily new front entry has very much so improved visibility as compared to this one.
The wheelbase almost looks to long. If the front end was brought back a little to put the engine more in front of the wheels would probably help the weight distribution. The price thou, that's hard to beat.
But I real shows you put on and like your honest option and what is whit new holland tractors. Don t you try them. Like to hear of them
hows the 4060,, this one looks pretty nice, we run the r4045 and love them, never had an issue and this is the 4th year
Did mike not have enough coffee this morning. I think he just said the sprayer was good enough an 300k cheaper than case or rapid Deere. Maybe his wife gave him healthy food for breakfast an that’s why he was so calm and nice.
My thoughts on the visibility. with the booms up. put some cameras on the roof and a monitor in the cab and a light bar and some of your problems solved
Is it? Unreal well if she can get the job done, run all day we’ll ntb then.. noise isn’t everything. Np I enjoy hanging out and test driving all new equipment
Agrifac Condor is the king
What kind of transmission does it have?
13:07
head bob, head bob, its got a powershift.
A ZF6 i think
Hey Mike, have you ever thought about the Amazone pantera 4503?
A friend of mine had his Apache axle break off.
All self propelled sprayers do that once in a while
Having big tall spindly axles
Around me there's stories of all brands loosing axles and snapping booms
Lights are adjustable Mike?
Not in the hood.. But most the others yes
Must be coarse droplet jets to spray at that speed !
What about a water tanker towed by a truck to save the road work ?
Do a versatile now, very similar to Apache with some significant differences in transmission/cab
That's a lot of money being 200K ish cheaper... Is it worth buying though at that price??
Just curious why don't you Try a Hardi sprayer don't know if you get them yourside though
Still not try the Agrifac it is has a wonderful system for wind draft ask for a demo and let us know
So, it takes about as long to spray as seed with a narrower window of time as you can’t cover as much territory tank doesn’t hold enough and wind messes with you?
As you change speed when spraying product will the machine alter the amount of product?
Yes and all the while maintaining the same pressure
Hey mike, You should demo a rogator 1300c. We have one on our farm in Australia. Ours has a 6300l tank 140 foot boom.
Who else has been watching long enough to know what a Bert is 😂😂
I just don't know why or where Ernie is not around🤣😂
I do...
JD 4840
Great video...How many acres could you seed in 1 day?
2000
You should demo a new rogator
What is that black stuff? We don't have any of that black stuff during night at this time of the year here in Finland. I thought Canada was pretty far north as well, but I guess the south of Canada isn't really that far north. Yea checking google maps Finland is as far north as Nunavut.
Have you tested the Challenger RoGator 600, ore planing to ?
What's that Terex in the background?
Haha yeah
Have you ever had a new holland tractor as they do a 700 horse t9 tracked machine
Mike couldn't u get carpul tunnel from that??
Does that machine have the solenoid valves in each spray nozzle that pulse the spray?
