A simple acknowledgement given with grace would have gone a long way in representation. Yashica hasn't asked for remuneration, all she is requested is acknowledgement. Not giving credit is disheartening to witness as a fan of made in heaven.

I love his films. He seems like a good hearted person. However- All this is fine. Bigger picture etc. But end of the day, let's be practical- if it's plagiarized- then give credit. Because that will help in the accusers livelihood. Getting work, etc. Very few want to so charity with their source of income. So if you cut down all the "nonsense emotion", people must be credited and paid for their work. It's disrespectful, not to.

I understand what you're saying, however how I interpreted what Anurag said is; if one is truly interested in being credited they should contact the producer instead of a publicaly maligning a director who can't influence the matter. The director of the episode acknowledged the influence as best he could. It's not that the demand for credit is unjust it's being directed at an innocent party that is actually on the side of the person in question. The director who is actually interested in Dalit representation is being 'cancelled' potential lowering the chance of him providing it in the future. Credit is definitely warranted if material has been used, the asking for it is being done in an inappropriate manner.
I hope you don't see this reply as attacking your stance, I just thought I'd share my interpretation and am genuinely curious as to what you think about it.

He would write in any indie filmmaker's film, which is touching upon some social (somehow solving /battling larger issue) without any credit in a film right now ?? Lol I don't think so.

Anurag is a nice human and a intelligent person sometimes unintentionally he gets dragged in political drama because of his views but as a filmmaker he comes across as one of the most genuine people from Bollywood

"Is the representation more important or yourself?" are you saying that representing dalit people on screen is such a big favour by the producers of the show that Yashica Dutt should stop asking for credit? Does representing Dalit people make it ok to steal credit when its due? Is it ok to steal someone's life story, make money off of the stolen content and then say its ok all in the name of "representation" is ok? If Kashyap is fine with his work being stolen and not getting credit for it in the early days thats his personal choice he shouldn't expect others to be like him and if he is actually ok with it then he shouldn't mention in every interview of his that he worked for free in his early days and how no one gave him credit.

I am a big fan of Anurag Kashyap but the argument he made about the credits was incredibly stupid.

It's unfortunate that the Dalit director of that specific episode became another face of the savarna dominator as he had already been established as successful with his reputed works. This is how the subaltern looses it's agency. Anurag can't compare the Sahitya Academy Yuva puraskar recipient to the stunt men (emphasizing his internalized hatred for the lower castes), the copy is to such an extent that they dare not to change the name of Columbia University..ha ha..if representation only matters and not name, what is he doing by promoting a film like haddi. Then instead of using his and Nawaz's brand name he should promote it with actual transgenders for better representation. Anyways his skill as director has deteriorated and without showing kindness, he himself can not go much further.

This guy is a murderer. He killed his own assistant director in gangs of wasseypur in the search for a "low budget film". Under his surveillance, his assistant director died coz there wasn't any driver and this a*hole let poor guy drive the car and killed him. It's written in gangs of wassepur book too. I knew after reading that book. But in india if you have money and power or know powerful rich people you can get away with anything unfortunately
