Thank you to everyone who entered and shared their values. It was so amazing to read them all. The winner of the giveaway is @Joyceexoxo! I DMed her. n_n
Hey Jenn! I normally don't leave comments that often but I wanted to let you know that I'm REALLY REALLY loving these introspective and more 'deep', reflective, sit down, chatty videos of yours! I cannot express this in a more pointed way but I just love and appreciate them. So please keep going. Love xx
I want to echo that. You really bring it with your content. I really enjoy that a major theme running through your videos is self development. The Brene Brown workshop sounds interesting and valuable!
i went on a solo trip to Moscow in January, what ive learnt is that fear is a liar. You have the power to do anything. just book that solo trip and go.
Saamiyah S - I think if you’re doing the touristy things then yeah possibly. I didn’t do that. I just went to shows and explored with friends I met there.
I never used to understand when people say “ spend time alone to get to know yourself “ but as I grow older with different experiences in my life I know understand why I behave certain way in certain situations. I talk to myself and I kind of go deep why do I feel such way “ I am getting better as a person as I spend time with myself to know myself more. I go to school and sometimes I feel myself aloof just the way you felt when you came to your room to eat. I do the same. When we have to work on a project with our classmates I feel kind of lost among the group as I don’t feel comfortable with the crowd. I kind of sneak away in stay in a room and read. I totally felt how you feel when you look at them from the window. Anyways Jen it is always nice to watch your video though I never leave comment but this video really touched me and I couldn’t relate more with you. Ps. I want to try traveling alone and eating alone too now after watching this. Thank you so much for this video. I feel good that I am not crazy and a negative person. Much love. 🥰
This video really resonated with me and I can’t thank you enough. I’m in a place post grad and starting my “adult” life so to speak and it’s a lot of open space if that makes sense. I sometimes feel alone in the struggle and I know what you’re doing is a bit different but the idea of spending time alone and putting myself out there to meet new people is so scary. Your moment of joining the table and putting yourself out there was so inspiring to me. Little things like that can be so scary and I can’t thank you enough for sharing your experience.
My three values are probably: honesty, generosity and curiosity I have always found myself to appreciate anyone who is honest with themselves and I want to try and be more honest with myself and what I need to work on. Generosity has always been a big value of mine because giving your time is something I love to do in order to help others in whatever way I can. Lastly, curiosity is something I appreciate especially within my generation and I continue to question parts of my life and what I can do better!
Connection, Pride, Joy I started solo traveling 4 years ago and it’s one of the best things I’ve discovered for myself. I always put so much effort and time in the people around me that I forget to take care of myself. Solo trips force you to care for you and make decisions for you and no one else. It’s liberating and I hope you challenge yourself even further! Love, from @imxyz
only six minutes in and i wanted to share a quick comment to say thank you for being so honest in this video with how you're feeling. the fact that you went on this trip alone is such a big step that some people can't do themselves sometimes. the part where you said you just needed to get out of your head when you chose to have lunch up in your room is soooo relatable and i'm sure a lot of people are guilty of doing this in some way. it's nice to know we're not alone with these feelings 🤗
Adventure, Compassion, Independence. Being a mom I need to put myself first sometimes, and I’m learning that I love adventure, I need my independence, and I have so much compassion for people and I hope to show that and be there for the ones I love in person! 🥰
My three values. 1) Fun, which probably is the most important reason for me to do everything that I’m doing right now. 2) Wellbeing: I was having some really hard time last year, which makes me realize that health and well-being is really the basic pillar of our life. And here to choose one of the two I choose well-being. 3) Curiosity. This is also another thing that makes me to learn, to grow, to travel. I consider it a core to my life. I have been slightly knowing better of myself. And I feel like the value list really helps in doing this as well. So a big thank-you to you Jenn. Always inspired by your videos.
I truly appreciate the growth that you have shown through the years, Jenn. I’m so proud of you. My three core values are: Loyalty, freedom and love. ❤️❤️❤️
My 3 values are: Independence - it is very important to learn how to stand on your own may it be financially, socially or emotionally because there will be times when all you could rely on is yourself. I’ve learned this very early in life and I still continue to learn that survival is human nature and if you’re comfortable supporting yourself then you’re one step ahead. Loyalty - if I would then rely on someone the best gift to receive and to give would be loyalty. It’s my way of putting my trust on someone and also my commitment that whatever happens I will stand by that person. It is crucial to know that you have people that are loyal to you because it shows a lot about the depth of the relationship you have with them. Honesty - this is a double edged sword. It is the most pure value of all for me. In a world full of filters and jokes, honesty becomes rare and unapologetic. Hearing someone just tell you how it is no matter the emotional risk takes a lot of courage. Being able to tell the truth is both freeing and challenging. @merilleraagas
“What are your three values and why it's important to you?" IG: @chriseva.tjiu Resilience - I left home when I was 19 years old and flew 18,000 km away from home to study in the United States at UC Davis (Go Aggies!) and it had definitely thought me to believe in myself more and to be adaptable and learn from failures whether they are personal or academic-related. Upon graduating, I packed my bag and moved to Europe to pursue a master's and again, getting used to a new culture was indeed a challenge, especially now where I don't live in a country where English is not commonly spoken. Uprooting my life several times thought me look for opportunities for self-discovery. Integrity - One key aspect I hold dear is to stand firm with my morals and ethical values. It's not always easy when faced with conflicting situations, but the act of being transparent and being honest has definitely ruffled some feathers and it sometimes made me sound righteous, but I rather be honest to myself than to suffer guilt and shame. Love - Above all else, love. It's the value that makes life worth living and it speaks volumes of who I am and what I do as a person. I love what I study, I love my family and friends and I definitely am glad I got to live a good life.
Courage, caring, and growth are the three values I pick! For me, courage and growth are values I am forever working on to become a strong, confident individual. I am always finding ways to better myself and love myself so that I can reflect that to onto friends and family. I am caring; when it comes to friends, family, and just any person I meet. I’m a nursing student and my program’s core value includes caring and it really it is an important value to own and implement in life.
Creativity: because you can expand your perspective beyond what you see; Community: because you need people to help keep you accountable and make sure you’re doing okay; integrity: because you can hurt others or yourself if your intentions do not match your actions // also love how you shared how negative emotions have a spectrum of definitions and terms!!
My 3 values: Compassion, Humor, and Curiosity! I've been trying to save money to take a solo trip and really take time to myself and invest in me ! Because like you said usually people that are always angry tend to lash out to others and its important to spend time with one self in a way where we can really explore ourselves and be vulnerable! Thank you for sharing this video with us! 😭🙏💓
Thanks so much for sharing and being vulnerable with us! I really enjoyed and related to what you said in this video. Upon a bit of reflection, here are my values: 1. Ambition - I have always been one to dream big and feel deeply. Being passionate about the things I love, and striving towards my goals everyday is one of the most exciting aspects of life. Ambition is what drives and empowers me to achieve what I set out to. 2. Authenticity - This one hits so close to home because I’ve always felt like I think different, act different, and go about things different from everyone else. Sometimes it can feel like a weakness, especially in an interconnected society where standards and expectations are imposed on us every waking second. But I think the greatest asset in the individual is truly what makes them the most unique. There is so much beauty in being unapologetically yourself. 3. Growth - In every individual, every relationship, every practice, there is always room for growth. This speaks volumes to me because growth is critical to humility, to balance, and to collective progress. Having this mindset means not settling or giving up, but wanting to be better, do better, for yourself and the people around you.
i love your chatty videos where you’re going about your day and sharing your thoughts and emotions with us. i think it makes you feel more relatable because sometimes your life seems so great and perfect (even though i know it’s not and you have your own struggles). thank you for opening up with us! my three values are: humor, growth, and loyalty. Humor because I think life is better when you can see the bright side of things and laugh together. Growth because this can mean growth in either self, career, relationships, etc and that’s something i’m always striving for. and finally loyalty because i really care about and appreciate people who can stand by me no matter what and i try to do the same for them.
My three values are: wholeheartedness, compassion and kindness because I believe everything that I do should flow from my heart and always be mindfully kind to everyone and everything I come across IG: @_miss.wanjiru
Kindness, reliability, and time. 🙏 I never actually think about my own value, however after I see this video my mind has opened itself to a whole different perspective. I choose those three because I think it's just my based on my personality which is love to share kindness and be someone that can be reliable. The last one is time because personally I believe that time is a power thing that affects our lives. That's all, thanks Jenn ❤️
Definitely passion, community and being the best. I would not be able to make it through my graduate program if I was not passionate about my future career. I could go on for days about how excited I am to better people's lives through physical therapy. I also rely so heavily on my community. I am a raging extrovert and will actually be drained by not being around people for a prolonged period of time. And when these people are passionate too, I am living the dream. Getting to share and gush over what we love most is one of the most fulfilling things. In addition, being trusted to share other's vulnerable moments is an absolute honor no matter how difficult it is to be present. Being the best is one I wish I did not value, but, in my mind, it is the only way of guaranteeing my dreams will become reality. Fight this on the daily and do not always persevere, but that is okay.
“What are your three values and why it's important to you?" 1. Compassion - it's easy to assume the worst in situations and spew negativity, and with all that happens in a day I believe showing compassion towards others is important because we are all fighting our own battles and we're all just trying our best. Fighting is easy, but to calmly look at a situation with compassion rather than hate is true power. 2. Home - I never felt like I ever had a home. I come from a broken family and I am constantly battles my own demons. However, despite being in the situation I am, I hope that I can build a space within myself for others that feels like the comfort of knowing you're loved, accepted, and can be who you truly are. 3. Optimism - I suffer from anxiety, and depression. My mind is always telling me that I can't do this, I'll never have this, everything will go wrong - being in that constant state is exhausting. Everyday I fight the voices in my head with optimism because when I don't, everything will continue to fall apart because that's what I'll believe I deserve, & it's simply not true. We all, including myself, deserve optimism and happiness. We deserve to wake up thinking it's going to be the best day, and if it's not, then tomorrow will be another chance to make it amazing. It's not easy being a constantly optimistic person, but if you can be that ray of light for someone walking through the dark, even just for a few minutes, I believe that can make a hell of a difference and can lead to better days. Thanks for sharing, Jenn! My values are authenticity, belonging and contentment. I truly espouse being my most authentic self regardless of who I’m with and creating spaces of belonging. Practicing mindfulness and learning to be content with each moment is something I’m working hard on. ❤️
cherryWAVES hahah totally! When I was in law school and lived by myself (scary for a scaredy-cat like me), I hated when I had the tv on and was making dinner and a scary movie commercial would come on 😖 I’d quickly cover my ears to not hear it. Totally felt you on that one Jenn.
I share your passion for learning and a lot of your fears (traveling alone, striking up conversations with strangers). I am in such awe of how compassionate you were with yourself. Even though you are pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, you were your own cheerleader the whole time with grace and patience. My values are Joy, curiosity and adaptability and I would looooove to win the masterclass subscription. Adaptability is important to me because life is always changing and I want to keep my heart open through new experiences. Curiosity keeps you from becoming stagnant and leads you to moments of awe. Joy is fleeting and I aim to catch it and savor it each day.
My top three values: 1) Connection. I think connections between people is what makes life worth living... I (and everyone) live life alone because I’m the only one inside my head, so it is really special when I really, truly understand others and feel understood as well. 2) Growth. I’ll never stop making mistakes, so I have endless opportunities to become a better person. I feel like not learning and developing is like stopping to live because that’s what life is about. 3) Purpose. Whenever I do anything, I have to believe it has a purpose I believe in. It’s important that I don’t just let life happen to me, I want to make conscious choices and make the most of my time while I have it. I love your channel! Hope you’ll make more videos of this style, I like hearing others peoples’ reflections about life and things that matter:) 📷: juliawars
Compassion, Growth , and Diversity are my three main values. Compassion because I truly appreciate when people can be compassionate towards themselves and others around them. For growth -- it's all about life long learning and growing as a person. And for diversity, I think there's strength in diversity and having diverse experiences and meeting diverse people in order to grow and learn. Thanks for being vulnerable with us Jenn. Have a good one
Harmony, excellence and fun! Being in harmony with myself, people and the environment. Likes seeing things be in their best form and therefore excellence. Fun because of the love of life itself and seeking joy in what we do.
“What are your three values and why it's important to you?" 1. Connection- Being connected to the people who are important to me always motivates me to live my life to the fullest, and it expands my understanding of the world beyond myself. I love how we're all the same but in so many different ways. It makes me truly appreciate my life. 2. Being present- I find myself the happiest and most at peace when I'm living in the present moment. And I try to give the present time my full attention especially when I'm around people. Everybody deserves to be heard and deserves to really BE together without unwanted distractions. 3. Growth- I am very curious about most things, and I believe in the possibilities of most things. It is important for me to accept who I am and explore my path, and I do so by learning continuously and always trying to be better than yesterday. IG: shoushouwang P.s. Thanks for sharing Jenn!
Love that you went out of your comfort zone to do this for yourself, to pour into yourself and in turn pour back into other people. The values that jumped out to me were belonging, generosity and gratitude. I’ve always struggled with feeling like I belonged anywhere and it’s something I’ve struggled with. I think for me and my personality, I have a lot of love to give but never felt worth of receiving love in return. Whether it’s belonging to a group or a person or just even allowing myself to be myself and belonging to myself in that sense, I think that’s why that value is important to me. I also feel like belonging ties into connection, which ties into feeling loved and respected, feeling heard and understood - all things that I know I need and I think humanity craves and needs as whole. Generosity and gratitude are also values that stick out to me. I want to be a more generous person in many ways and I want to live a life filled with more gratitude. But wow this conference sounds great. Will definitely think about going if it’s ever heals near me or next time I visit the US! (Insta handle is @heyheycj)
Hi jenn! i wanted to recommend a book to you. It’s called The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See. It’s about two friends working in their Korean village's all-female diving collective. But their bond is tested as they come of age against a backdrop of war, social change, and technological advancements. Whats even cooler: its based in Jeju. Lisa’s writing is quite similar to Min Jin Lee’s in Pachinko! I loved it so much that i read it in a day and have even brought my mum a copy for mothers day!💋
My core values: Time, knowledge, and wellbeing. I never take the time I have with someone for granted. I always search for new knowledge whether it’s to help me grow individually or to understand other people’s beliefs. In the past I neglected my own health and now I see why my well being should always be one of my top priorities!
I loved the way you described excellence - I had never thought about the value that way but I couldn't agree more with your thoughts. I'd say my three values are openness, growth, and wellbeing!
When I was a kid I used to sleep over at my friend‘s house sometimes… and her parents always had to take a painting down from the wall because I was so afraid of it 🤣🤣🤣🤣 It showed a man in a suit (or a waiter idk) in a dark room and it was so creepy to me that I almost cried every time I looked at it 💀 So I feel u!!
Growth - Vulnerability - Spirituality. I value these because my faith is really important to me. I also am vulnerable about everything, and I appreciate it when others are the same way. And growth because this whole journey is about growing and becoming better and it's a process that happens throughout our whole lives, but it's so so important.
I would say my values are: Ambition, Growth, Love. Also, we are so the same with being a scaredy cat and i hate watching horror movies too or seeing scary trailers/commercials. haha!
Girl I feel you. Funny story time: When I was a kid, my mom wanted to watch “The Mummy” cuz she does it was about moms and family themed.... but it was obv about mummies and i got so scared that i hid under the theater seat and that probably triggered how much of a scaredy cat i am with scary movies too. I used to skip any part that started to feel scary even in tv shows... But now that I think about it, that was hilarious on my mom’s part tryna watch that movie😂 p.s. every time you were in the room i couldnt help but stare at the painting too
Hi Jenn, the three values that are most important to me are - 1. Being completely genuine. I find this something I can easily pick out amongst people I meet daily and I find it most admirable because I feel it can be hard to be your most genuine self at all times. Depending on who I'm around, I find I sometimes put on the self that I think they would appreciate most, as opposed to being 100% genuine is all interactions I have, regardless of who I'm with. 2. Being openminded. I choose this as my second most important value because I think it is so important to keep an open mind no matter where you are in life, whether in a positive or negative situation, keeping an open mind can literally open our eyes up to seeing and experiencing something we would never have otherwise. And simply by choosing to view things from a wider lens, lift us out of the "rutt" we may feel has been hard to get out of. 3. Vulnerability. This is a value I have struggled with as I am not the type to like drawing attention upon myself. But as I grow, I am learning this is something that actually takes bravado, yes I may be drawing attention to myself by opening up and admitting vulnerabilities but in a way, that is me being true to myself, being genuine and keeping an open mind to things I may not currently see, or feel. I'm reading everyone's Values ... this is so interesting!! My 3 Values: - Wholeheartedness: I find it very hard to feel fulfilled/ satisfied with the process and/or the result of something unless I am authenticly passionate about it. Consciously making sure I choose this, instead of going an easier route is something I'm continuously working on. - Curiosity: This is a surprise to no one that knows me. I was the kid that wandered off, and the woman ... that might also wander off lol. Finding out the "why" and/or what's around the corner is the fuel that gets me out of bed. - Accountability: (tbh this really surprised me) but when I truly thought about my three values being the pillar people can lean on when they need to brings me so much joy. Everyone needs a pause button on the chaotic quality of life and knowing that the people I love feel safe to lean on me is beyond important to me. @burninbrownies
Gratitude, Contentment, and Connectedness are my 3 pillars. Thanks for sharing some of your journey with us. I think learning about ourselves is some of the most important work we can do!
My 3 values: (1) curiosity -- I'm constantly feel the need to learn about everything and everyone around me. If there's something that's unanswered, it bothers me and I feel fueled to learn more about the answer or solution. (2) flexibility -- I've always believed if something fails, then that failure is simply an opening to another pathway or a new opportunity or new adventure; this mentality is what keeps me going instead of feeling discouraged by failure. (3) excellence -- I'm at either 0 or 100 when it comes to doing anything; if I am going to expend time and effort into something that I care about, then I believe in putting my best foot forward. Even if that matter may seem trivial to people, I try to spin it around in my mind to make it matter. Also, I also loved the bit in your video about introspection-- that introspection isn't just self-indulgence but rather a way to improve the ways in which we interact and affect other people. :-) I have an IG account in which I post something I feel proud of every day to motivate me to keep doing that task-- e.g. footage of me practicing some dance moves because I've always wanted to learn how to dance. Sometimes, I feel self-conscious about the posts coming off as self-absorbed but actually, posting has allowed me to get more feedback, to inspire others, and to stay connected with my old and new friends! IG: @jexjex
I traveled the world by myself in my twenties and it was the best gift I could have ever given myself. The friendships I made, my personal confidence was restored as was my confidence in ppl - that most are genuinely good and kind. My values are curiosity, showing up, loyalty.
these vlogs are so interesting to watch, especially when it inspires me to learn more about myself! btw love ur makeup its stunning on u, also straight hair at this length really suits u 💕
Jenn, watching your videos are always one of my sweetest pleasures, and I thank you for doing what you do and personally keeping myself inspired and curious about the world we live. My 3 principles are : adaptability, growth and respect. It took me a little to figure them out because there are so many that I love and that I try keeping constantly alive but these three are the most truthfully felt by my heart. Adaptability : is linked to me being a second generation kid, my parents are korean and I was born and raised in Rome, Italy. Being the "different" one of the group taught me that trying my best to adapt myself with the people I enjoy being with, while expressing myself to the fullest is one of the things I care most, plus being a cultures and connections lover I find myself sicking for this principle that to me can also be a powerful skill that anyone can learn. Growth : I believe that we never stop growing, the beauty of this is that I can control where I want to grow and who I want to grow with. Maturity and social growth are my goals for now. Respect : this is something I always always look for in any kind of relationship. I find myself losing interest for someone after watching their bad (in terms of respect) behavior towards other people and this keeps my integrity alive knowing who to trust and who to share my soul with. I think It also reminds me the beauty of human beings, when a person respect another person only because they exist It shows me humility and honestly, love. I wish you a wonderful day full of mindfullness and positivity, love you Jenn ❤️
“What are your three values and why it's important to you?" My top three values: Curiosity (to better understand the world, people, and how to grow into a better person), loyalty (to my family, friends, and the world), and empathy (including encouraging more empathy around me to facilitate change). IG: @thekatwang
1. Growth - we’re all meant to change and develop, so why not send it in a good direction 🌱 2. Integrity - staying true to my word, true to myself and true to my commitments 💎 3. Love - it never fails ♥️ (ps. Love you Jenn!! Always a huge inspiration 🧚🏻♀️🌸🎩)
Good video is good to get out of the comfort zone !! I always travel with my wife but she is pregnant and we are very happy😁😁🙏🙏 so this year we wont be able to travel , but im learning my fourth language working to push my travel channel !! 😎😎🙏🙏💪💪
Jenn, I see sooo much of myself in you. Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone but also dealing with the discomfort. Also, just wanted to say that your base makeup on the first day looked soooo good! My 3 from that list would probably be justice, travel and success. Justice is something I always push for, always trying to come from an unbiased position. Travel, I understand is a privilege to many, but is something that has made me grow in so many ways. I’ve traveled a lot in the past and I plan to do much more in the future. I have doing a solo trip on my bucket list lol. And success is something that I’m currently working for, but I want what success means to ME (not my family, not my friends, just me). I’m trying so hard to say “I feel successful” and it’s something that I’ll do just about anything for.
omg ive always thought i was being dramatic when i thought it was rude that scary movie trailers come up during commercials or even on youtube videos 😫i also almost never watch scary movies by choice 😂
Every time I see you pushing yourself a little out of your comfort zone, you motivate me to discover and learn more about myself. Self improvement is a never ending journey. There's always more to give and take. Thank you~
My three values: Connection: to truly connect with people, occupations, places, and things. Growth: to grow as a person. Overall be on an incline to bettering yourself. Love: to love. Nothing is better than to love! @natalieporretta
Hey Jenn! I’m on a vigorous self discovery journey and listening to you describe your experience took me through all the emotions just imaging myself in your shoes but listening to you talk about lashing out at others to bring them down to your level hit home hard. I cried. It resonated with my soul. My current three values at the moment are honesty, compassion and gratitude. Honesty is a huge part of my self discovery journey and by far the hardest. Removing the mask and breaking down my real feelings have always been hard for me. Compassion because it’s important to me to extend people more grace. I’ve been known to harp and hold on to situations for far too long. It’s toxic. And lastly gratitude, taking time do more than focus on the negatives has been huge for me. I tend to see the negatives first in every situation and I’ve started to journal more focusing on every positive no matter the situation and it’s helped to shape the way I view things! Thanks for hosting this giveaway and sparking this conversation. I feel a little lighter now!
DO NOT watch hereditary!! My bf made me watch it (and I watch a lot of horror films with him) and it was so upsetting I was very angry at him! VERY gory and graphic
My three most prominent values are Honesty , authenticity, and future generations. Came out a long term relationship recently and really finally took in how our values don’t align so our future always felt dreadful to us both despite the chemistry and love we feel for each other. Learned the value of knowing yourself well enough to be able to know what ways you can compromise and what would break your values! Great vlog thank you
it's good to travel alone; go at your own pace, meet random people, and reflect on any problems you might be dealing with. some of the best trips i've had since being in China have been solo trips. travel - see/do new things, eat awesome food adaptability - making changes when situations arise instead of resisting them well-being - gotta take care of mental health
Here are some words that sort of "spoke to me": - Resourcefulness: when life gives you lemons - make lemonade. - Success: So many things can be a success. The lemonade you just made could maybe help change the world :) - Kindness: Be kind to yourself, to others, and to nature. All the best to you, Jenn! :) - @emmasofialarsson90
My three values are balance, compassion, and growth. I love conversations around values because it leads me to be deeply introspective but for me, compassion is so important because when I make mistakes I want people to treat me with compassion and understanding. In this comes forgiveness which I think is something we should all constantly work towards
Mine are compassion , individuality , and dedication. Compassion to me is what makes everyone connected in the world. It makes me Want to be better and I believe it is what makes other feel motivated to live their best lives for others. Without it I don’t think I would be anywhere. Individuality is important to me because understanding that I am my own person and part of my life is growing from within is what drives me. It fuels creativity and when you are strong individually, it makes relationships with others stronger. Dedication to family, work, friends, and everything in between is very important. In my life, I try to do my best to focus on what is the most important to me and if I am truly dedicated then it can be the best possible. Love u Jenn!
😱Omg, I cannot believe how everything can occur on the right time. I have gone through one of the hardest times in my life, and now I’m rebuilding myself step by step. I just started to realize what things I value, what character traits I want to highlight in myself, I’m just in process. And this video was just right on time! #1. Ambition. I have always had certain goals in my life, that I thought were hard to achieve. But that kept me going and working hard, just because I thought it was nearly impossible. #2. Financial stability. I have my job that I enjoy, and now I want to have that certain feeling of safety. That I can support my family and take care of myself. #3. Gratitude. I realized that I sometimes try so hard to achieve smth, and forget to reflect and be grateful for everything that happened to me, both good and bad. 🌙Thanks Jenn, for being so inspiring. Every time I watch your videos I just have so much energy and motivation to try harder and be better than I was yesterday. Insta: @dashima_dan
Thanks for sharing! I value belonging, Hope and giving back. Because it’s hard to move forward without a sense of hope, and it’s valuable to feel a sense of belonging and be able to give back (especially to those who’ve done so much to help you along a difficult path).
Silvia Manrique I suck at watching scary movies... I just watch reviews on the movie instead so I know what it’s about because I’m so curious! It’s a scary cat hack lol
Gratitude, Solidarity and Self awareness/Love are my most important values. Those three things go hand in hand to help your anxious/depressed self to stay present and focused in what matters.
My three values are nature, peace, and learning. Nature is such a powerful force. When I go out in nature (hikes, sunset cliffs, camping in the desert), I'm overwhelmed by how incredible it is and the sense of purpose me and every single thing has. Simultaneously I feel my most insignificant. It's a beautiful reminder that we're nothing because we're apart of everything. I also identify with the value peace. I used to suppress my negative feelings when I was younger and only share with others that I'm happy. Now, my goal isn't so much to be happy as it is to be at peace, at peace with the good and bad. I can't control when the going gets tough but I can control how I then think about it and choose to react to it. Lastly, I picked learning. Since I've graduated university, I can identify with the way you are feeling about knowledge. I don't want to stop. I'm constantly looking up definitions, googling different surgical procedures, theories and plant species, and reading old textbooks from college. I never want to stop learning and growing. There's so much out there!! @aammaannddaa4
“What are your three values and why it's important to you?" So, immediately the terms altruism, self-discipline and wholeheartedness jumped at me. Altruism, because I truly enjoy giving to others, and it sometimes brings me more joy than caring for myself. I'm trying to keep it balanced though. Self-discipline is also a big one, because I believe that you can achieve most things by doing the right thing continuously. And lastly, I chose wholeheartedness, because I want to be all in with everything I do, so I know it's worth it. Thank you so much for providing constant food for thought. You are right, it's important to know oneself to be a better person for others, but also for oneself. @pau_linye
My three values are: Spirituality - I'm constantly growing, learning, and connecting more, deep within my soul everyday by meditating to help maintain my inner self. I feel like once you understand yourself more, your soul will be aligned with your mind and body, and you will feel harmony. I have a lot of positive energy in me and I'm scratching the surface right now, by learning how to raise my energy/ control it through spirituality. I also feel like I get a lot of spiritual signs around me, so that's why meditating helps me learn more about myself, and signs from the universe too. Wisdom - According to others, apparently I'm sophisticated, open minded, empathetic, etc. I do value and respect those around me who are understanding, and compassionate. Knowing that I can help other people by sharing my knowledge based off of my experiences, I'm always open to spreading positive vibrations to everybody around me too. As much as I help others, I want to continue to increase my wisdom and also help myself out when I need it most. Adventure - There's really nothing much to say except, I love going on adventures, I'm always down to travel, explore physical places, and go to a nice place with good views. Adventures are all around us, maybe even inside of us, but if you take your time and explore the right one, you might be lucky. There's plenty of adventure in my life, all the ups and downs, but I know that in the end, the outcome is going to be worth my energy, time, effort, sweat, tears, etc. The outcome of an adventure is greater than the beginning of one, and sometimes, adventures never end. Depending on how you choose to live/ control it, you either live in the moment, or let what shaped you, go to waste.
I think my values are safety, family, and freedom. Having a basic level of safety provides me with the foundation to live life freely. Family goes without saying - I have always been a saver financially, and I have realized recently that the reason is 1) for safety, and 2) for my family, in case of a medical emergency or major life change that could leave us needing. I value freedom from scrutiny and judgment and want the chance to travel the world, do what I want without consequences (not like I'm going to break the law or anything), and I think people thrive when they are given freedom. @lorzorrr
Two years ago, I traveled to Europe by myself for two months. Looking back to the time, I really appreciate that I could have this extraordinary experience. After that, I start spending more time with myself which I didn’t enjoy doing in the past. I learnt how to talk to God, talk to myself, and know myself better and deeper. Thanks for sharing your solo trip to us, it reminds me a lot of memories. Lastly, I share the same values with you, Jenn. I don’t know why but every time I watch your video, I can see some of myself in you. That’s freaking cool! Love you Jenn, thank God for your existence:)
Hi! I love your UA-cam channel. My three values are “Smiling, Respecting the difference and Being uncomfortable” I keep my smile always to make others and myself happier and it really helped me throughout my life. I love different culture so it’s very relevant for me to respect the difference and be uncomfortable to learn new things and cultures! My IG is ai_miya_mitch_
I LOVE that you did this exercise about values, because to start off 2020, my therapist did this exercise with me. The 3 i chose were Intimacy, because i want to create deeper bonds within myself and ensure that im creating deeper connections with those around me. Spiritualality, because i think there is a lot to learn about tapping into the power i have in order to spread love and positivity in the world. Things like therapy, consistent meditation, and even music festivals and travel are opening my spiritual self lens. And Passion, because im 22 in community college trying to decide some career paths, and ultimately whatever i decide, i want to wake up every day with a purpose and feel sparks with what i do. I also really appreciate this video , because ive been wanting to take a solo trip to get out of my comfort zone and you inspired me to try and make it more of an educational experience than just a wind down. LOVE YOU JENN💖
The three most important values to me is honesty, commitment and hope. 1) Honesty because in order to better yourself, you have to first be honest about who you are, what you believe in, even if it goes against your beliefs, being truthful will allow you to love others as you understand the complexities of human nature and self-acceptance, true love and self-care. 2) Commitment is required to persevere through life and all its hardships. Without that you cannot overcome your limitations. Holding onto that principle keeps you on the right path. 3) Hope is necessary to ignite the potential within us. We are only potential unless we endeavor to become something more than ourselves and hope helps us achieve that.
“What are your three values and why it's important to you?" My three values are purpose, authenticity & connection. I always have wondered what my purpose was in this life. I want to be better in everything I do, I always seek out for perfection and every goal I had in mind during school, work (getting my diploma etc.) I wanted to show myself that I could do it even If I gave up many times. It is a battle I constantly struggling with. Authenticity, because I want to be honest in everything I do for myself but also for other people. I admire people who are authentic & are confident in what they do. I inspire to be the same. Lastly, connection, I always felt alone even I am with people. Only a few people I am comfortable with, I can be truly be myself and feel connected. I don't look for it and sometimes I wish I can be more open to others so a connection can easily be made. Hi Jenn! I loved this video and completely related to how you felt at this workshop. I'm often always the youngest or only "young" person in these kind of places as well but I enjoy pushing myself out of my comfort zone and always learning/connecting with others. My top 3 values are compassion, environment, and spirituality. I learned compassion from my mom. She had the biggest heart and was the most selfless person ever. She left a very comfortable lifestyle in Vietnam and crossed oceans so I could have a better future. She worked super hard and always sent money to help her family. She donated to every single charity she came across and started her own organization that helps build houses for the homeless in the small village she grew up in. After she passed, I hope to continue her legacy and build more sustainable houses which leads me to my next value: environment! About 8 years ago, I read an alarming statistic that on average in the US, we consume 1 million water bottles per minute. (That number has now tripled) and I just wanted to figure out a solution and help raise awareness. Sustainability has been something that has been more popular of a topic and I'm so thankful but there's still so much more to do. I am a brand ambassador for a athleisure wear company called Wolven Threads that makes their clothes out of recycled water bottles! It warms my heart to know I can merry 2 of my favorite industries fashion and the environment together. 3rd value is spirituality. When I was 18, I came across a channel on here called Spirit Science and it took me down this crazy rabbit hole. Because I have always been a logical person, it was hard for me to grasp the concept of religion. But in this (animated cartoon) series, it explained so much that they never taught us in school: thoughts & emotions, chakras, consciousness etc. Spirituality has been something I'm still constantly learning more about and a way to connect to some of the dopest ppl on the planet! Thanks for reading! I love the Masterclasses and have been wanting to take the one from Sara Blakely! Been needing some motivation to get me out of this slump. With so much love, Brenda IG: @riceg0d
I think I will choose: honesty, creativity and making a difference. Honesty just because is one of the most important things in my relationships with friends, partner, family... Creativity is one of the values I like the most, all my work involves creativity and I try to make every project different, and that is the point of the last one. Making the difference I think is really important in my career, at first I choose "career" but then I just realize I want to leave a mark in the world. I just want to say that I love how yo make videos, I think you are one of the few people on youtube that usually show all their feelings and express the real them. idk I just like to feel you are no acting or something. IG: @lavieenrose05
the more you create such wholesome, introspective and reflective videos like these, the more I find I relate to you even more (and it hypes me up to be more productive during the week)!!!! I also have started journalling down what you share in your videos because sometimes I just don't realise or can't put to words what I feel at times, so thank you Jenn!!!!
Hi Jenn! Thank you for being so vulnerable with us on here, it's super refreshing to watch thought provoking but still lighthearted content on such a cramped platform... plus it's great for my Sunday me time lmao I think my priority in values are courage, community and harmony right now. I think values are dynamic as we continue to experience life but for now my life has been about showing up for myself and those around me rather than shutting people and opportunities out. I think if I can uphold all three everything else will fall into place 😌
I love you Jenn !! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. You’re very genuine and amazing ❤️ I’m so glad I found your channel. I’ve been struggling understanding myself in a lot of ways. But watching your videos inspires and helps me so much.Thank you Jenn ❤️
The three things that I value are beauty, forgiveness and independence. I value beauty because I use to be a very confident person but lately I’ve been feeling very insecure about myself scrolling on social media but I’m still learning to not compare myself with others. Forgiveness because I’ve seen a lot of my close ones forgiving me even tho I’ll let them down multiple times. They’ve shown me how to move on, let go of things and not carry my bad behaviour around. This video taught me Independence , I used to hate being in public alone. I always needed someone to be around me but lately I learnt to spend more time alone. ❤️❤️❤️
I don't know if you'll ever notice but whenever I watch your Video I feel like I can relate so much with you. You inspire me everyday. Thank you for existing Jen 😘 I love you.
I felt so nervous with you while watching this but also felt so relieved when you were self-reflecting. I myself am someone who wants to keep improving, continuously developing and I love learning. I read the list and I think if I had to choose three it would be AMBITION, COMMITMENT and GROWTH. With everything I do, I found that I have this drive and fire inside of me. Even when I had a tough year last year and thought I wouldn’t make it through. It’s the ambition to live, to achieve that really helped get me through the dark times and also helps me achieve more and more each day. My commitment to my family, partner and friends is what makes me loyal. And GROWTH... I never want to stop growing! Even if its learning that I have bad qualities. I always want to identity them and improve myself. It’s such a beautiful thing... learning about yourself. Its because of growth that I can learn to be a better daughter, a more supportive and understanding girlfriend and a present friend. It’s been such a scary ride but I’m so proud of my journey and I love seeing that you’re self reflecting and sharing with us! Thank you ❤️
Compassion, creativity, and health. The first two rely on the foundation of my health, because without it I have nothing (whether I be mentally or physically sick). Compassion is something I strive to have towards every being i connect with and I think the world would be a better place if more people practiced just a little more compassion and kindness to those around them. As an artist and designer, creativity is my everything, my energy, my passion, my catharsis. Thank you for this video Jen, I never thought about narrowing down my values like this, but I’m also glad I was able to confidently pick them.
I'm obsessed with you Jenn, especially just the way you are and your fabulous vocabulary. I took solo trip last year and it was so liberating and ofcourse I was anxious during the actual event but looking back it was the best thing I did for myself. I believe its so important to keep learning and as I'm doing my Yoga training and reading a lot more about the philosophy there is emphasis on this one thing that I resonate so much with, "to know yourself is to know the world' with a side of knowing yourself is the ultimate goal of our soul and the experience of the material world can be a medium of it. Anyway enough chatting, my three core values would be 1)Balance- I'm big on this because it helps be draw a line from action v/s inaction in my daily life. 2) Travel_ because early on I realised my soul feels utmost contentment when I'm exploring new places, cultures food and spending time with nature. 3) Adventure- because life always needs some spice! Lastly I'm so happy that you're deciding to giveaway something so valueable to your youtube family. It says a lot about you and is one of the reasons you inspire me so much. I love you
Thank you to everyone who entered and shared their values. It was so amazing to read them all. The winner of the giveaway is @Joyceexoxo! I DMed her. n_n
I just found u and ur channel, I love how you think and your peaceful nature and I resonate with it and respect you a lot
ok
Hey Jenn! I normally don't leave comments that often but I wanted to let you know that I'm REALLY REALLY loving these introspective and more 'deep', reflective, sit down, chatty videos of yours! I cannot express this in a more pointed way but I just love and appreciate them. So please keep going. Love xx
That’s exactly what I wanna say to jenn
agreed!
I want to echo that. You really bring it with your content. I really enjoy that a major theme running through your videos is self development. The Brene Brown workshop sounds interesting and valuable!
❤️❤️❤️
“The people who are the most hostile are the ones who are the most uncomfortable in their own company”
Very interesting! Thanks for sharing 👌🏿
Renata Crespo jenn said it in the video
That’s deep!
Yesss
It's so true!!
It’s nice to see someone who I think is really cool struggling with social things
I agree. I can relate so much.
i went on a solo trip to Moscow in January, what ive learnt is that fear is a liar. You have the power to do anything. just book that solo trip and go.
Saamiyah S omg I booked a solo trip to Paris next month and I can’t wait! But I’m still anxious about it 😅
NooodleBaby congrats, that’s a normal feeling ☺️ !!!! My first ever solo trip was to Paris, you will love it.
So true. Went to NYC for a week on my own last year. One of the best things I ever did.
@@TaryllBaker NY is next on my list, cant wait to visit. Was a week enough to experience NY
“I hate when a scary trailer comes on...like it’s actually rude” 😂
It is tho
My three values are probably: honesty, generosity and curiosity I have always found myself to appreciate anyone who is honest with themselves and I want to try and be more honest with myself and what I need to work on. Generosity has always been a big value of mine because giving your time is something I love to do in order to help others in whatever way I can. Lastly, curiosity is something I appreciate especially within my generation and I continue to question parts of my life and what I can do better!
Afreen Jan What a writing! I love the reasons of your three values:)
Connection, Pride, Joy
I started solo traveling 4 years ago and it’s one of the best things I’ve discovered for myself.
First Samantha Maria goes on a solo trip and now Jenn? I am INSPIRED
Same! I just watched Sammy's video and suddenly Jenns popped up! Love it ❤
Haha! 💙🌈💛
I just watched that Vlog.
Playing catch up on Sunday!?
Have a lovely day. ☀️
Hinna Books 👍🏽💛🌈
It really isn't a big deal. I do it all the time and Im not that brave
Exactly same thought OMG we se the same
My three values.
My 3 values are:
Independence - it is very important to learn how to stand on your own may it be financially, socially or emotionally because there will be times when all you could rely on is yourself.
@merilleraagas
“What are your three values and why it's important to you?"
IG: @chriseva.tjiu
Resilience - I left home when I was 19 years old and flew 18,000 km away from home to study in the United States at UC Davis (Go Aggies!) and it had definitely thought me to believe in myself more and to be adaptable and learn from failures whether they are personal or academic-related.
3:34 "ugh. i HATE IT" idk why but that made me laugh 😂 jenn just sitting on her bed getting ready and being like ugh.
Upon a bit of reflection, here are my values:
Just watching jenn comfortably talking about something makes me feel like I'm sitting there chatting with her 😅
❤ love you
i love your chatty videos where you’re going about your day and sharing your thoughts and emotions with us. i think it makes you feel more relatable because sometimes your life seems so great and perfect (even though i know it’s not and you have your own struggles). thank you for opening up with us! my three values are: humor, growth, and loyalty. Humor because I think life is better when you can see the bright side of things and laugh together. Growth because this can mean growth in either self, career, relationships, etc and that’s something i’m always striving for. and finally loyalty because i really care about and appreciate people who can stand by me no matter what and i try to do the same for them.
My three values are: wholeheartedness, compassion and kindness because I believe everything that I do should flow from my heart and always be mindfully kind to everyone and everything I come across
IG: @_miss.wanjiru
Kindness, reliability, and time. 🙏 I never actually think about my own value, however after I see this video my mind has opened itself to a whole different perspective. I choose those three because I think it's just my based on my personality which is love to share kindness and be someone that can be reliable. The last one is time because personally I believe that time is a power thing that affects our lives.
That's all, thanks Jenn ❤️
Yay! Sunday Jenn!!😍💕 I’m always so happy whenever you upload!💛 You’re one of the 2 UA-camrs that I watch every single video!
“What are your three values and why it's important to you?"

when you said HGTV never has any scary commercials, I felt that 😂 after a scary movie late at night, I always put on HGTV afterward lol.
cherryWAVES hahah totally! When I was in law school and lived by myself (scary for a scaredy-cat like me), I hated when I had the tv on and was making dinner and a scary movie commercial would come on 😖 I’d quickly cover my ears to not hear it. Totally felt you on that one Jenn.
@@alliebens4263 maybe I should start covering my ears as well! haha!
My top three values:
1) Connection.
Hope you’ll make more videos of this style, I like hearing others peoples’ reflections about life and things that matter:)

Have a good one
my three values are: appreciation, humility, and well-being.
Harmony, excellence and fun! Being in harmony with myself, people and the environment. Likes seeing things be in their best form and therefore excellence. Fun because of the love of life itself and seeking joy in what we do.
“What are your three values and why it's important to you?"

I loved it so much that i read it in a day and have even brought my mum a copy for mothers day!💋
vicschofi this sounds so great I’m gonna put it on my reading list!!!!
Thanks for the reccomendation, ill check it out.
My core values: Time, knowledge, and wellbeing. I never take the time I have with someone for granted. I always search for new knowledge whether it’s to help me grow individually or to understand other people’s beliefs. In the past I neglected my own health and now I see why my well being should always be one of my top priorities!
I'm so proud of you for stepping out of your comfort zone! 😊
Also, we are so the same with being a scaredy cat and i hate watching horror movies too or seeing scary trailers/commercials. haha!
How about Aerosmith do you think Aerosmith is cool?
Its nice to see who love her self so much. You're confident. I appreciate you ❤️
Girl I feel you. Funny story time:
When I was a kid, my mom wanted to watch “The Mummy” cuz she does it was about moms and family themed.... but it was obv about mummies and i got so scared that i hid under the theater seat and that probably triggered how much of a scaredy cat i am with scary movies too. I used to skip any part that started to feel scary even in tv shows...
But now that I think about it, that was hilarious on my mom’s part tryna watch that movie😂
p.s. every time you were in the room i couldnt help but stare at the painting too
Hi Jenn, the three values that are most important to me are - 1.

My 3 Values:
- Wholeheartedness: I find it very hard to feel fulfilled/ satisfied with the process and/or the result of something unless I am authenticly passionate about it.
@burninbrownies
Gratitude, Contentment, and Connectedness are my 3 pillars. Thanks for sharing some of your journey with us. I think learning about ourselves is some of the most important work we can do!
Thank you for sharing! I've been wanting to take a solo trip but too afraid to.

This vlog reminds me, when I was travelling alone for a course or to a conference. It's always a bit scary, but somehow I miss it now...
“What are your three values and why it's important to you?"
My top three values: Curiosity (to better understand the world, people, and how to grow into a better person), loyalty (to my family, friends, and the world), and empathy (including encouraging more empathy around me to facilitate change).
IG: @thekatwang
1. Growth - we’re all meant to change and develop, so why not send it in a good direction 🌱
2. Integrity - staying true to my word, true to myself and true to my commitments 💎
3. Love - it never fails ♥️
(ps.
Thank you~
My three values:
Connection: to truly connect with people, occupations, places, and things.
Growth: to grow as a person. Overall be on an incline to bettering yourself.
Love: to love. Nothing is better than to love!
@natalieporretta
Melissa Lavender it was a waste of time honestly!
Agree!
I liked it. A girl actress was freaky tho!
Great vlog thank you
How I feel in my acupuncture school: everyone is older with a lot more life experiences and they’re so nice and welcoming
it's good to travel alone; go at your own pace, meet random people, and reflect on any problems you might be dealing with. some of the best trips i've had since being in China have been solo trips.
travel - see/do new things, eat awesome food
adaptability - making changes when situations arise instead of resisting them
well-being - gotta take care of mental health
Here are some words that sort of "spoke to me":
- Resourcefulness: when life gives you lemons - make lemonade.
- Success: So many things can be a success. The lemonade you just made could maybe help change the world :)
- Kindness: Be kind to yourself, to others, and to nature.
Jenn went 100% Naomi Campbell with that flight seat💀
Wooow out of school for 10 years? Damnnn I've been watching you sooo lang already! I remember watching you when you were still in collage!
#3. Gratitude. I realized that I sometimes try so hard to achieve smth,
and forget to reflect and be grateful for everything that happened to me, both good and bad.
🌙Thanks Jenn, for being so inspiring.
Every time I watch your videos I just have so much energy and motivation to try harder and be better than I was yesterday.

One of the firsts! So great to see you getting out of your comfort zone! Do you plan to solo travel more often?
Thanks for sharing! I value belonging, Hope and giving back. Because it’s hard to move forward without a sense of hope, and it’s valuable to feel a sense of belonging and be able to give back (especially to those who’ve done so much to help you along a difficult path).
Don’t watch Hereditary. It took me a couple of weeks to get over that film!
Silvia Manrique I suck at watching scary movies... I just watch reviews on the movie instead so I know what it’s about because I’m so curious! It’s a scary cat hack lol
Seriously don’t do it. I’ve never even seen it and I just feel like that should be a hard no!
Silvia Manrique now I feel like I have to watch it 😔
Gratitude, Solidarity and Self awareness/Love are my most important values. Those three things go hand in hand to help your anxious/depressed self to stay present and focused in what matters.
I don't know why I've never thought of bringing wet wipes with me and wiping down my plane seat. Wow...
“What are your three values and why it's important to you?"
So, immediately the terms altruism, self-discipline and wholeheartedness jumped at me. @pau_linye
My three values are:
Spirituality - I'm constantly growing, learning, and connecting more, deep within my soul everyday by meditating to help maintain my inner self.
@lorzorrr
LOVE YOU JENN💖
ig: uracutea
my 3 values: kindness, connection, and wonder
“What are your three values and why it's important to you?"
My three values are purpose, authenticity & connection.
IG: vyvyvu
With so much love,
Brenda

I think I will choose: honesty, creativity and making a difference. Honesty just because is one of the most important things in my relationships with friends, partner, family... Creativity is one of the values I like the most, all my work involves creativity and I try to make every project different, and that is the point of the last one. Making the difference I think is really important in my career, at first I choose "career" but then I just realize I want to leave a mark in the world.
I just want to say that I love how yo make videos, I think you are one of the few people on youtube that usually show all their feelings and express the real them. idk I just like to feel you are no acting or something.

the more you create such wholesome, introspective and reflective videos like these, the more I find I relate to you even more (and it hypes me up to be more productive during the week)!!!! I also have started journalling down what you share in your videos because sometimes I just don't realise or can't put to words what I feel at times, so thank you Jenn!!!!

Hi Jenn! Thank you for being so vulnerable with us on here, it's super refreshing to watch thought provoking but still lighthearted content on such a cramped platform... plus it's great for my Sunday me time lmao
I think my priority in values are courage, community and harmony right now.
Anyway enough chatting, my three core values would be
1)Balance- I'm big on this because it helps be draw a line from action v/s inaction in my daily life.
I love you
