I was a little confused, because in the beginning you used tan masking tape but when you unwrapped that you had blue masking tape around it, did you have to reapply it?
I noticed that too and had to rewatch to make sure I saw what I actually saw.
Haha I know…I use a template video that I’ve made quite a while ago where I use the masking tape. It’s the same way to do a spiral for me every time so it just saves me time to use that video 😊

You can also put a little diluted Dawn on the white areas to keep the dye from getting in there.

How do you keep your dye from spreading out ?
I used thick dye on this one 😊
@@RiahsTieDyecan u discuss that process? Or make a vid showing that? I have alot of spreading when I'm using a thin dye. I also heard if you sprinkle some soda ash around it keeps the dye from running but idk if it actually works
For the trick, your supposed to color your shirt first, then proceed with the steps? Just getting into tie dye and want to be prepared lol.
This one was soaked in soda ash and spun out, spiraled, dyed, sat for 24 hrs and then yes rinse, soak, wash 😊
Kind of like a 'Crash Test Dummy" pattern
