This review is misleading. Most people would not buy the exclaim (!). You'd have to be an idiot to spend almost 30k to get some fancy rims and a few tech upgrades. A review of the + (plus) would've been more honest. Then you could've mentioned, at the end of the review, that the exclaim costs about 7k more and you get nothing but shame for buying it. The new models are the same too.
My stepmom hit a deer with her Kia soul and it did far more damage to the car than expected was almost totaled but 7 weeks later it was repaired . This car lost it's front end all the shrouds and skirting ripped off and front tires blew off it on each side the thing just fell into pieces over a little deer at mild speed . I'll tell you right now by design It's flat out Not safe for your family if God forbid you get into a wreck with it
KIA SOUL IS A LEGENDARY CAR!! There are over 100,000 KIA SOULS sold yearly in the US. It is leaving its other boxy competitors in the dust. It has a very bright future with big sales all over the world. Any car that hits a deer can lose control and get damaged. My friend damaged his Honda after hitting a deer, losing control and slamming into a tree. Some people total their cars after hitting a deer because they lose control of the car. So lets not act that damage cant happen to other cars if they hit a deer or drive fast in slippery weather and have to stop suddenly. I have had a Kia Soul for over 4 years and haven't had any problems at all. I will buy another Kia Soul in the future. It's an excellent car!!
I totally disagree. I was in a pretty bad accident with my 2011 Kia soul, and the car was totaled, but police and paramedics said that I came out extremely lucky with only minor injuries considering the speed of my car when it happened. My friend was in the backseat of a Kia soul (filled with 5 people) when her step-dad passed out, making the car roll over 6 times off the highway. The only injury out of everyone was a scrape on her nose. 2010-13 have 4 stars in safety while 2014 had 5 stars. I'd say its a pretty amazing car.
the soul has the very BEST safety ratings...so i trust the IIHS more than the deer poster...in other words cars are supposed to crumple to decelerate the occupant gradually....

Just an FYI if you think your soulf will get 38 mpg ...my dad receives a check for the cost difference in fuel every quarter from the Korean automaker Kia due to their false advertising the mpg they promised can't live up to it's rating and Kia gives him a fuel allotment as part of a class action lawsuit by people who realize it's not as great as the sticker said. The car has hardly any room inside looks plasticky and incredibly cheap and the thing completely falls to pieces if you hit a small deer at any speed
In a spin out a tip or roll just about any little terd car is the same but a collision is far different , but if you have a head on collision or major accident running into another car or get T boned your not going to be okay there's not enough mass to absorb the kinetic energy . Safety ratings tested are often very minor and not always indicative of the real world . If it's between you a truck or full size sedan the other guy is going to walk away and you'll be crushed in your Korean toy
+e2sguy Not sure where you get your facts from because I would like to see that. I was involved in a accident with my 2014 and walked away with out a scratch and the car was totaled. A lot of over-sea auto makers are making much better quality cars then companies like Ford, GM, or Shit Chrysler.
Wait till it collides with something like a pickup on a icy road .you'll see how safe and amazing it is . Yes it is supposed to crumble but not around the occupants body . If a 150 pound deer will literally blow the tires right off the hubs you can bet you'd stand no chance against oncoming car or a ditch. No safer than a go cart of coarse Koreans ( guess what Kia stands for ) don't have the same standards Americans have in safety .
