Just drove one this week. HUGE improvement over the earlier models. Smoother, quieter, more substantial feeling but without losing the fun factor. And as said, the quality of the interior plastics is very, very nice. Hope the improvements don't allow the price to continue to creep up. Nice car.
Alex, I talked to Kia salesperson and he has said that more seniors purchase the Soul due to the fact of the forward visibility. The Soul isn't just a vehicle for the young. The Soul's competition to me is Scion xB, Fiat 500L (as you mentioned), and Nissan Cube, not necessarily the Juke.
Thanks for this vid, we test drove one for my wife today & she loved the "kale" color, but it was their basic pkg, no bells & whistles & no idea when they'd get the pkg we want which is the fully loaded, every option, Exclaim Whole Shebang pkg, goofy pkg name, but has everything I want for her and hard to beat @$25k with every option available. I don't care for Kia's lack of "order what you want new", but oh well.
Hi Stephen. I agree with you. This car is 37% stiffer than the last one, has reworked suspension and higher interior materials. See you on the road. Alex
Have a '10' model, bought new. Skeptical at first for this "Wrangler Man", however I have fallen for the Soul and I am considering a '14 or 15' model. Save for a cow ramming my poor li'l Soul in the middle of the night while driving in rural Texas (causing $5k worth of damage), I have had no issues with it thus far. To date, I have clocked up to 130k miles, and still runs like new.
Hi Evan. While AWD would be great, Kia has always marketed the Soul as an urban car, without any sporty or off road pretensions so I honestly don't think that many people will care. It also helps keep the price point down. Thanks for watching. Alex
Alex. Second and later generations of vehicles typically involve cost cutting, meaningless "enhancements," or both. In contrast, I've been impressed with Kia's thoughtful improvements in both the Sorento and the Soul. Kia's designers seem to pay attention to their customers' experiences, positive and negative, and respond in their designs.
I was driving back to my house and there was backup at a 4 way stop due to a car not moving at the front of my lane. It was one of these brand new KIA souls with the paper license plate still in the window. People started honking at it and finally gave up and started driving around it into the intersection. When I drove by the car appeared to be completely dead and a lady in her 20's was just sitting in the car looking frustrated. I guess that's why KIA scores so low in dependability (JD Power).
Sat in this at the 2013 OC Auto Show, not bad actually. Good room. 26MPG combine was a bummer. The other two with locked doors & the funky paint job were a waste of floor space Kia.
to ChristopherWalkenPUA the kia soul rates 4 and 5 star in Quality Performance Design and Reliability. I sell kia and we sale souls as soon as they get off the truck, my customers are satisfied we their purchase
Wow, every time I see one a woman is driving it. Anyways, don't get me wrong, it is a cool car and probably feels good inside while driving it. I just don't want to be seen driving one unless I was a teenager.

I've had my 2015 base Soul over two weeks now. I traded my 2012 Optima in for it. I love my Soul!!!

Nice review. They should put the 2.0 turbo in there, call it the "#"

Hi Billy, both the Cube and xB are soon going to be gone so I decided not to mention them. Thanks as always for watching. Alex
Red Zone Edition! Love ours! We also have a Cube and the Soul is much more car!

I thought the same thing (and still do) but actually more men buy this car than women.
