I do think he will go soon though. I’m honestly surprised he hasn’t already bc I thought her passing would cause him to go too, or vice versa. They do have a great, loving marriage and a spouse dying can cause broken heart syndrome….but they’re separated so I’m still confused by the comment

Who knows how much more time President Carter has? It was heartbreaking to see the condition he is in - unable to speak or walk. Yet, there he was, in attendance for the funeral of his wife of 77 years. That was my inference that death couldn't separate them.

The Carters were true servants of God. I did not agree with his politics, but he was a very good man. They were married for 77 years. That says a lot nowadays. This breaks my heart so much. I was born during Carters era. Wow, I cannot believe how my hero president Jimmy Carter looks and how i will miss seeing the former First lady Rosalynn carter. The real power couple. They are the main reason that an immigrant was able to be legal in the US, because of 1980 Cuban and Haitian law. they are the reason I volunteer to help the homeless and I used to help with Habitat for home. They were wonderful people, and by their example led many of us to better lives in the service of our fellow humans. Thank you for being one of those who strive to live for the betterment of others. There is no more noble cause. Doing so, and leading others to do so, gives the Carters the only form of immortality which we can know in this life. All else is reserved for God.

I’m a Conservative and have always had the greatest of Respect for both President Carter and his wife. They never set out to enrich themselves-they always set out to do Gods work and are both thoroughly decent, gracious people.
At a time when we are all frustrated with the appalling politicians we have now, they remind us that once… not too long ago, people went into politics to give and to try and help others. These two epitomise that promise and we should all salute them for living great lives. RIP.
They were true public servants who served with honesty and humility, qualities we should still expect of our elected leaders. As old-fashioned & boring as that may seem to some folks today.
There are thoroughly decent and gracious people on both sides of the political divide. No matter whether we are liberal or conservative, we can always amend out sinful lives, and follow the Carters' lead in serving our fellow humans. Of this I am certain, and for that reason I feel that we should never judge each other by the political party we are registered for, but rather by how we treat those in need. If we look at that, many will be surprised at how much we have in common, and in what ways we may better serve our good nation, as well as the world.
