@@zefallafez Reagan was the phony.. He made a back door deal with Iran to hold the hostages until he was sworn in as President.. That means, as a private citizen, he undermined the health and welfare of the hostages and negotiated with a foreign government for his own political benefit which is and was a crime. Furthermore, he traded arms and money for the hostages.. furtively. Carter was a decent and honest man who was too moral to counter the underhanded maneuverings of Cheney, Baker and The West Coast industrial corporations that they represented.

We do! President Biden is a kind man and serves others. He has done a lot for this country and in service in his private life. That’s facts. Sadly his whole presidency was marred by a lying tweeting insecure sick man who does nothing but serve himself and drag down anyone he could never complete with.

I've just received news about the WW2 veteran named: Warren Upton. He died on Christmas day in 2024. He was 105 years old. I sometimes do, begin to wonder if he ever got involved in politics? There were people who died older than former President Carter did. That was Mila Mangold. She was 115 years old. Methuselah was different. He's the Old Testament biblical historical figure who died at 969 years old. 🎄 😢 😔 😭 😕 😪 🎄

@@georgeshelton6281 I think they were using a different calendar system back then. It wasn't all standardized the way it is now. Sort of how in the early years of floppy disks, each manufacturer had their own format. Osbourn, Kaypro, Heath, they all measured, formatted, and used the disk drive differently. That was one reason why CP/M died off and DOS (which was standardized) replaced it. I think it likely something similar happened to the calendar system. That is one reason why I say that. The other is if characters really did live that long, their stories would be much broader--they'd have many generations of families, very long periods to document their accomplishments and long lives. In short, they, unliked their shorter lived humans, would occupy an exhaulted period in human history--much more of it would remain-since they would have time to document everything.

The fact that they never invited him to the dedication of his portrait within the White House tells you he was never part of their group. I once heard him in an interview talk about how he felt that they were working against him from the beginning, everyone from the speaker of the house down to the smallest Office of the Democrat party. He said his hands were tied through his whole administration, and it was a daily fight for him to get anything done. He’s the only president that went on to work with his hands, doing noble work for the poor… Jimmy Carter was pure gold, in spite of what political history has written about him. Reagan stole the credit for the hostages, Carter had it all set up prior to Reagan taking office. Carter was the first one to bring talks to the Middle East to trying to negotiate peace. He was a down to earth wonderful person!

He knew what really happened. Reagan exchanged arms for the hostages. He told the leaders not to release the hostages until after the election. Carter was sabotaged. Carter put solar panels on the roof of the White House. As soon as Reagangot inoffice he ordered them to be removed. Reagan was bought and paid for by the weapons manufacturers, oil industry, health insurance companies and corporations. He is the reason the rich don't pay taxes anymore. If Carter had gotten reelected our country would have moved in a better direction. Greed has consumed us. 🤦‍♀️

As it has been often said about Jimmy Carter: A good man, but a bad President. He tried but the country needed a different kind of person in the late 70s-early 80s to deal with the kind of problems people were facing. There is a reason Reagan beat him in landslide in 1980 in the worst defeat of an incumbent President since FDR beat Hoover. I think if Carter had been in elected in 1992, when the country was in a more stable position, he probably would have done better.

@@RobertaPowell-kt5zu Yes, he definitely had to contend with many issues as President. He just didn't do enough to alleviate the problems or at least give the impression that he was going to alleviate them. In 1980, Carter carried only 6 states in the electoral college and got just 41% of the popular vote. Those are horrendous numbers for an incumbent President. You can't explain Reagan's overwhelming victory in 1980 if the public thought Carter did a good, or even decent, job as President.

A sad day indeed. Jimmy Carter had his challenges as president, but he is far and away the most successful ex-president we will ever see. Thank you, Mr. President, for being a true gentleman, humanitarian, and inspiration.
I still remember my senior year in high school, cutting class along with about a dozen others, so we could all go to a nearby friend's house to watch the Carter inauguration. I vividly recall Jimmy and Roselynn walking up the avenue, waving to the crowds. The only time I ever cut class, and it was worth it to see history unfold. We may never again see such integrity in the future.
