    In my opinion, the 2011/2012 are the best Mustang GT years for power and looks overall. I didn't like the front end of the 2012/2014 and the new one has a really fat ass that bothers me, even though overall it's a great car.

      I agree. I like the 11-12 looks the best. Even the 11-12 seems heavy to me at 3620. My 03 Mach 1 weighs 3420 and even that seems too heavy :)
      The modded SVO I used to have spoiled me on light weight Mustangs. It weighed 2990.

      Anything 2015 and beyond, the looks suck big time. "Silly Putty Ponies", as I call them. '10-14 models are my favorite, and I have a Grabber Blue 2011 GT Premium. RESPECT that PONY!!!🐎🇺🇸👍

    This is an amazing Mustang. We are in a modern muscle car era right now. I can't wait to see what GM and Dodge come up with to try and out-do the 5.0. Wish I had that motor in my '07 GT!!!

    @JD06STi yes the dyno for this car would be 435 RWHP so technically it has more than that because your using hp to turn the drive train and to push air through the exhaust and to turn the wheels which lowers the hp.

    just bought one yesterday and I absolutely love it!!! I am so glad Ford went back to a true 5.0! its been rough to be a mustang fan the past few years. Its almost became as bad as being a Detroit lions fan the past ten years. and I do love the lions!!!

    @gravityhammer25 Finally, you're correct about the turbo lag fixes, but these are the engineering techniques I was talking about, BMW did eveything you explained in order to fix lag, and be more efficient, (ford did thier own fixes with the ecoboost engine). And yea turbos can be great, but the technology needed to fix those probems do cost something, and it increases the cost of the car. Not to mention, you need more than one supercharger (usually) to make the power of a supercharger.

      Yes i know their lying, no coyote mustang puts down over 400rwhp bone stock without a tune or anything, mine put down the most hp at my shop without a boss manifold, mine had 384hp with a jlt intake catback and bama tune. After the longtubes and offroad x it put down 422hp. The shop said those numbers are pretty high for a coyote and they dyno dozens per week

      Well then their dyno is screwed up, let me tell you something, for over 50 years Ford has been very well known for understating power and torque figures, back to the late 60s Mustangs with the 7.0L that Ford said made 375 hp, it is pretty much known now that they made 400+. Ford, infact, nobody would ever overstate horsepower figures, most people, Dodge, Ford, and others, usually understate them for emissions and all that bull shit. Your lame ass local shop definitely would have a worse dyno than fucking K&N Air Filters would.

      I mean its a dyno jet. Obviously a 7 litre motor would have over 400 hp, but man go take a look at all these other videos i think this is the only one with the numbers that high, look im not trashing ford or the mustang or anything im just saying from car meets, ppl i know, my car and just everyone coyotes dont have 435 hp stock especially for rear wheels. The normal range is 412-420 at the flywheel bone stock which is damn impressive, now with drivetrain loss which is 15% i believe. Multiply 420 times .85 and thats wat a stout coyote should average stock. Plus man k&n isnt wat they used to be ive seen ppl lose power with their intakes and gain with other brands, again could just be their car we will never know. All im doing is trying to correct information from the video i dont see why your insulting and attackin my shop

    I'm definitely a Camaro guy but I have to say that I'm very happy to see Ford finally making a Mustang GT worthy of the name, they haven't done that in a while.

    @EvilxMerlin take a look at the timed figures. Those extra pounds of the GT500 do it few favours and make it worse at braking figures and nearly identical at the skidpad, while the GT500 is also not very much faster at accelerating. IMO, I just say it is not worth it as it is now, compared to the new five-0. =)
    I'd love to see that five-0 supercharged for next year model, though...

    @gravityhammer25 I don't have the Mustang any more and I didn't count it because the engine and turbo were modified. But just so you feel better it was an SVO Mustang and I was hitting the ground with around 300 HP. It weighed 2990 LBS and all it took for us to beat a mostly stock Syclone was a set of sticky tires. And yes my Mustang did beat a Ferrari 328 that belonged to a friend of mine. Sorry no one was running a Porsche at the races I used to frequent.

    @Greendude33 roush doesn't use IRS, none of the well known tuners do. almost all of them use a 3 link rear setup, that are track tested. Ford's LRA setup is pretty impressive, and its also track tested. you have very little knowledge, of the car you are trying to argue about. theres currently only 2 companies offering IRS for the mustang, and they're setups are expensive, about 6k for just the parts.

    435hp @ the wheels!! You gotta love Ford, they always under rate their vehicles. Remember the 2003-04 SVT COBRA. They said 390hp at the flywheel but PPL were dynoing 420-430hp @ the wheels. The Camero SS just looks so cheaply made to me. I drove one and was almost disgusted with the interior quality. The Mustang is more quality for your money if you ask me. Ford For Life!!!

    the reason for some inflated dyno numbers could be several different things. different dynos-- a dynojet shows inflated numbers where a mustang dyno does not. 2nd, edmunds screwed up when they dyno'd in 4th gear. you're supposed to dyno in the 1:1 gear which in the mustang is 5th. this also causes inflated numbers. the 5.0 isnt underrated. evolution performance numbers of 365 to the wheels is the proper number.

    "Very bad tranny problems"? I had a 2012 GT MT82, I beat the hell out of that car. Traded for a 2013, 2nd MT82 i've owned and I haven't had any trouble with either. They're actually really tough. Any problems people are having are caused during assembly by a lazy or drunken worker, i'd bet alot of money on that, because the design is solid. There are guys in the 10's on the stock MT82 internals. They've had to replace the clutch, but still, stock MT82. The tranny isn't the issue, people are.

    No youre not. You are denying Americans rights to a good compeitor to Camaro. Ford Mustang has always made a good muscle car in Mustang, even with only 225BHP from a 1993GT, they still kept up with 300BHP Camaros.
    And when Camaro took a break from 2003-2009, Mustang preserved the muscle car genre for Camaro to come back to.
    Thank FoMoCo for doing that because w/o a muscle car genre, GM wouldve never resurrected Camaro.

    @bigbadmenehune don't know what your talking about, i bought a premium 2010 grabber blue gt with a ton of options leather/sync/navigation/hoodscoop/sidescopes/20" shelby rims/rear decklid blackout/window louvers/sidescoopes/gt 500 rear valance/ it that had a msrp of 36 i talked them down to 26, they are already haveing a very difficult time selling them due to the 11s. i would have waited for the 11 but i already own a 600 hp 93 cobra so i didn't see the need for 2 race cars.

    @EvilxMerlin so they dyno it at the rear tires, and take that 11% ford claims and change the number they got to make it more impressive. why dont they just dyno it at the rear tires and tell what it dynoed. the dyno number is speculation until they pull it out and put it on an engine dyno.

    Ok, I'm confused. (Sorry I'm only 14, but have an extreme passion for cars, especially Fords. Favorite car is the GT500 Super Snake,) but why did he say he tested it on the dyno in Riverside California if the plates say Michigan?

    Motor Trend, get someone who is knowledgeable about this car, this dude is wrong just on about everything that came out of his mouth.
    1) The Mustang 5.0 is still under 5000cc, EVEN the Coyote motor is, so technically its not a true 5.0L
    2) It does not put 435hp to the wheel, that's a straight lie
    3) Fire him and hire me instead

      ***** Couldn't agree more, the 2016 5.0 with the performance package is like 435 (crank hp obviously), so a 2011-2013 base 5.0 at 412hp would be 370 rwhp.. maybe. Regardless its the best car for the $$ by far right now.

    I call bullshit on the dyno numbers, everyone else is putting down 370-380 stock. it doesnt make sense that the car would make more to the rear wheels than its advertised at the crank, that would mean with 435hp it would have almost 500 at the crank.

    if they are rated at 412 and have 11% loss then they should make 371rwhp average. 390 is alot more, it means ford is under rating the 5.0.

    i test drove a 2010 camaro ss 6 spd and was very impressed with the power that the 6.2 had to offer, but now knowing the 2011 GT is even faster and has greater mpg i cant wait to get behind the wheel!

    I was so impressed with this car, I went out and bought one. I havent had a mustang since the 80s. This is definitely in a different league. The premium GT is only $34k, but it comes with leather, power driver seat, shaker 500, sync. My came with the 19 inch wheels & pwr pass seat & heated seat option. I got it for under $32k. All black car, then got limo tint. Its a sick car. I smoked my friend in his '10 Camaro SS.

      It adds up, wtf are you talking about?!!! There is such a thing called power/weight. The GT weighs less than the Shelby so with 435 rwhp, yes it's faster. Obviously this is a press car so Ford tweaked the power a bit but all car manufacturers do it, have been doing it since the 50's.

    @bigbad1000do7a - I don't know about the 2011 model, but my dad rented a 2010 convertible V6 for our trip to California last year and it was very comfortable. I was highly impressed as a passenger (and more trunk space than the Sebring convertible we initially considered too).

    Taking a look at the figures the 2011 Stang puts, and also those of the 2011 GT500, I'd take the five-O anytime. Probably, we'll have to wait for next year's GT500 for it to have the supercharged 5.0 and THEN it'll be the real King of the Road...

    I have a 2011 Premium, stickered for $35,900, I paid $19,000, I bought as my Daily Driver it had 44,004 miles on it and found out it was never registered, was a former engineer car.

    Not all these gases can be used, because you do not know what the output will be.
    Also natural gas, ethanol, bio diesel, nuclear, electric, solar, hydrogen, maby propane are the only alternate fuel sources you will see. No gasoline engine can run on these, without being taken apart, and built piece by piece.
    Also 100% Ethanol will not work with Gasoline engines, Gasoline engines parts were not designed to work with alcohol corrosion etc Performance will be compromised to much to list

    Not hydrogen or electricity, I am am very sure you wont be running a gasoline engine on bio diesel or pure ethanol anytime. You wont get the property's that gasoline has. Once you are out of oil, that is it. You would have to redesign the whole engine.
    You wont be getting a carto run on Corn oil, with a simple fuel pump and injecter swap LOL. The whole engine would have to be rebuilt, then it would just be a scrap piece of crap.

    Tell me how an you modify a gasoline internal combustion engine, to run on electricity??? To use hydrogen fuel cells..... it doesn't work. The engines are designed completely different.
    The only fuel that can work in existing engines is bio diesel with diesel engines of course.
    Ethanol probably needs some gasoline mixed in so that doesn't work either. Solar is electricity, that doesn't work with existing engines.

    My truck is still worth 15,000 dollars, besides being made in 1991, it is a collectors vehicle. Rarer then yours. It is worth more money then your mustang actually. Nobody wanted the 4.6L. They wanted 5.0's. Also the fact it "resembles" meaning people dont want a replica. They want the original. The only true desirable muscle cars are from the 60's-80's. Excluding a few from the 90's like Pontiac TransAm and GMC Syclone. Vehicles no longer produced. That said new fords are garbage.

    My time of 11's is very true. You just dont want to believe it. I can prove to in person if you want. I fly to California smoke you and embarrass you, or you fly to Dubai and get smoked doesn't matter. Either way i am faster than you.
    Also the weight for a Syclone is exactly 3599 lbs they are not heavier than that. My truck is light compared to some car's these days. You must really suck at acquiring information.
    Remember, the Syclone runs 13's with 280HP!!.... I added 70hp!!!

    Also, I live and work in Dubai not hiding. The 350hp with 395lbs off torque I have plenty of power to let me get 11's you are just angry. It is all in the boost launch and gear ratio's. Top speed is limited but my acceleration makes up for everything. It is all in the torque. I run 11's. If you want to race, I can come to the states too if you want. What state are you in??? I'm gonna take a guess you live in California. It isn't hard for me to, get my truck on the cargo plane.

    GM IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN FORD.
    GM actually made a 2.2L I4 cylinder engine which makes 1000hp....... Ford never did that....
    GM made a car that does 7:19 on Nurburgring ford never did that.
    GM's Corvettes are actually fast, mustangs are slow.
    AND THE CAMARO ZL1 WILL RAPE THE FORD MUSTANG
    For one thing the ZR1 is faster than anything ford ever had.....
    I have never lost to a cobra, Cobra's are slow as shit, I win against everyone I street race.

    Also the Camaro ZL1 is redemption for the Camaro. GM does things right becuase we have fast cars like the CTS V, Corvette ZR1, and the legendary Corvette Z06!! Dodge and Chevy, only American car company able to beat the GTR in the ring. I dont see ford mustang lap times anywhere, Ford GT500 is just slow compared to the Camaro ZL1. You wait, the day the Camaro ZL1 comes out is the day you cry like a baby. You will see how shitty Ford actually is.

    Point 3.I would rather be the "one guy" with a Syclone, then be that common Subaru STI, or the common Corvette, or the common mustang, unique is better.
    Point 4. My car is collected status. With value of $15,000 on a 20 year old truck I think I am winning.
    What mustang from the 90's is worth more than 5000? No ford from the 90's is worth that much. An 06 Ford mustang gt is probably worth 9000

    The 3 Pony cars have one thing in common, they are Femine. Pony cars I dont think a Mustang is faster than a Syclone. When you click my name the first thing you see is a Syclone smoking a modded Cobra.... In the right panel you can see Lightnings, Porsche's, Srt-10's and even supra's getting smoked why??? BECUASE GMC SYCLONE IS BETTER THAN EVERYTHING.
    Also ford is a shitty car company, GMC and Chevy will always have faster cars. Nothing matches GM. Ford sure doesn't.

    You drive a feminine "PONY" car. Pony doesn't sound very masculine to me. I drive a GMC Truck 100% of GMC drivers are cool, 100% of GM's cars are masculine.
    95% of Mustang drivers are female. The other 5% are just gay males you fall into that category.
    Does your mustang run on Estrogen? I think it does. I think the mustang is clearly a "gay" car. Obviously it doesn't take a Einstein equation to solve that.

    I bought my Syclone from the auction for $7000 with about 55,000 miles on it nice try though. Other's there Also it is considered a collector's car. True antique with about 120,000 it is still worth alot of money. If you didn't know these truck's keep their value very well. I can trade for something but this is the best most versatile vehicle!!. AWD,turbo nothing but winning.... can haul my bike and quad
    I didn't pay anywhere near 40,000.... 7000 was alot less idiot!!! LOL

    I am not haling over 500 pounds idiot, Zx7r and banshee are lighter than that, GMC drive trains are built for tough, and can handle stress. I have first hand experience, nothing last longer than a Chevy/GMC NOTHING...... on my second pickup I have 265,000 miles original tranny and engine, no problems, no replacements, just oil and fluid changes. It still runs harder than a ford ever will :D

    First of all Syclones are actually 300hp stock. 280hp was a lie from GM to keep insurance lower. Actually It is still fast, and a few mods I can compete with everything. Mustang Gt has a V8, I have a v6 and I only actually added cams,short ram and headers. I have exactly 350hp, but If I use Tuner Pro fuel, and timing optimization, and increased boost then I can have 500hp simple. Then who rapes who? You dont know how easy it is to make power from a 4.3 V6 turbo.

    Chrysler tried this with the Eagle Talon(DSM) built in Illinois, but with Japanese parts. Would you consider a DSM an American car??? It technically is but those cars were garbage.
    I can only consider American muscle to be anything prior to the 80's. American got influence from in tech Japan. That influence form Asia and Europe still exist today. American cars were BIG/Wide and V8. Today our cars are smaller, more efficient from Japanese influence.

The Mustang is MANUFACTURED at the plant.... but this plant is not fabricating actual Fiberglass, they are not preparing leather, molding plastic, or prepping polycarbonate. All these were manufactured somewhere else. For all you know it could be from China. I worked at a Fab engineering company, I prepped polycarbonate, fiber glass, and acrylic and most of that material came from ASIA.

I know they haven't increased it since then. Hmm what transmission does the mustang use? If a mustang or other Ford had a transmission "Made In China" that doesn't look so good....... You see though, all domestic company's are outsourcing, everything is outsourced, what you know as "domestic" is not domestic.

    Weight doesn't matter, because GM has fixed that they revised the zl1 from 550hp to 580hp.. You do realize with a few tweaks, Gm could push 600+hp out of this monster even 700hp if they wanted..... the Zl1 will eat Ford Gt500's for breakfrast, and eat Boss 302's like a late night snack. GM is not fucking around with this car.... and Ford is on their hit list.... The ZL1 will rape the Gt500 and Boss 302. Truth it will happen. When it does you could call me a physic.

    Twin turbo's fix lag.... anyway also the new BMW M5 places turbos between V of block... It has an advanced manifold system shorter exhaust tracks. Wider diameter to reduce pressure loss. it increases throttle response, reduces turbo lag and improves efficiency. Turbos can be GREAT
    All 500lb-ft of torque is available from 1500rpm to 5750rpm, red line at 7200. engineering
    Also look up the Mazdaspeed 6, those are engineered so the turbo spools instantly, provides low-mid end power.

    O rly their not impressive??? Turbo's are more efficient than superchargers!. With turbo's utilizing the exhaust gases is actually not wasting, but using waste to make more HP!!! Your gonna burn gas anyway... why not use the waste. Superchargers are the true wasteful components. I see no cons of having turbo's. Otherwise the fastest cars in the world use Turbo's. Because big NA 454 v8 motors are more inefficient. Turbo gives potential. Turbo+ small block V8=RAPE.

    Average quarter times dont matter, because good drivers can do anything. From red lights, Syclone will always win. The low quarter mile times is because of weak top end speed. But a good driver can do better than 13.4. Also the awd only helps nothing launches harder, a mustang match it in the beginning of a drag race.
    These Syclones take Supras, porsche's, corvettes and etc those are much faster than a mustang gt but Syclone eats them any day and everyday!!!

People dont know that it was actually one of the fastest vehicles in the 90's, but is/was underrated many dont know it exist. I believe designers of GMC Syclone were fired by GM when the Syclone had a faster 0-60 than the Corvette. No Srt-10 or lightning beats it in a drag race. The only thing Srt-10 and Lightning have is top speed. The Syclone actually beat Ferrari 348t's FACT.

    Ford Lightning 0-60 5.2 seconds
    SRT-10 4.9(Terrible for V10)
    Keep in mind my Syclone only has a Turbo 4.3 V6, lightning has 5.4 v8 Supercharged and Ram has v-10 both of those still CANT BEAT MY SYCLONE IN A DRAG RACE.

    I will agree that Ford SVT, Shelby ,Saleen etc make good cars and an 08 Mustang GT is a very practical car, but im still not a Ford fan. Damn I didn't want to admit this but the new Camaro is just for marketing not a true performance car. Camaro isn't as good as it used to be 60-69 Camaro was great, but after that things got bad, and GM isn't doing as great as they could be. GM has made good cars, and also made bad cars, Ford has made good cars and bad cars also.

    No matter how many mods you put on the mustang. You cant compare with my Syclone, it can handle well for a pickup. For being about 20 years old my Syclone is still pretty damn fast. But in acceleration nothing compares to me. Also besides speed it is very versatile does what i gotta do, my Syclone is the GM equivalent of an Evo even made with Mitsubishi turbo.I only have short ram and headers on the engine.

    Ive never liked a domestic car till now, I worship this thing, its so much better than the camaro, nicer engie size, no supercharger needed, more power and so much more affordable, where I am the GT 5.0 goes for a solid $30,000, camaro is $45,000 the mustang is faster, mpre reliable, has a better engine, and by the looks it weighs less, way to go ford, they dont even need saleens or shelby's, GT is good enough for me

    Not according to my personal experience, On my other truck do you consider 265,000 miles on an original transmission and engine reliable? I would consider that to be superb. A normal gasoline GM engine will last until the body pane's rust away. A diesel GM engine will last longer than a human lifespan. That is just with regular fluid changes.

    No it wont break, there is no such thing as a GMC breaking. I had my friends 700 Utility Quad in the back, I hauled it with no problems. I still can reach triple digit speeds with a load in the back. Over 500 lbs is not, and has never been a problem. Refrigerators, furniture, motorycles, atv's, no problems with anything.

    Insideline messed up. Read their followup blogs. They admitted they tested the GT in 4th gear when it should have been 5th gear (1:1 gear).
    When they tested it in the correct gear, they got the correct result of ~365-375WHP.
