    Thank you for making this video. I also liked how the fluid hit the drain bolt and splashed out a second time because that's the kind of things that happen to me when I work on my own car! Perfect video, even including the exterior diameter of the vinyl tubing you used for the refill!

    Thank you so much for this!
    I’ve had this saved since my first disastrous transmission fluid change. I had the wrong size bottle pump (larger diameter) so each quart of fluid had to be cut for the pump to fit. Then I had to hold the bottle and pump while pumping underneath the car. With each pump fluid would spill out of the fill hole. Disaster.
    I changed the fluid again today using your method with the funnel/ tubing from the top of the engine (thank you for the amazon link)
    It was perfect! Super easy and did not spill/ leak out 1 drop. 🎉

    I accidentally put in 4.8qts. Still started engine and went thru gears. Took out level bolt and no dripping fluid. Found a Honda tech sheet and it says to let powertrain idle until at operating temp and that’s the correct time to check fluid level. Not right on startup. When I did this only then did I have dripping fluid. I’m hoping you didn’t overfill yours due to you having dripping but not even close to operating temp. Just a thought.

      Official instructions to check fluid level: Warm engine at idle speed to normal operating temperature (the radiator fan comes on twice). Check the ATF level right after shifting the transmission through all the positions/modes (P-R-N-S-2nd-S-D-N-R-P) for at least 3 sec each and turning the engine off. There are two types of 10 speeds, a Type A (4.8 qt.) and Type B (4.5 qt.)

    • @Qius_Cars
      @Qius_Cars  Рік тому +1

      I used a pinch weld jack adapter on the sides in front of the B pillar and haven’t had issues with it, so long as the jack stands themselves are on the reinforced parts of the pinch weld. The right spots are the rear by the gas tank and front on the subframe. Issues I’ve found with those spots is that the rear doesn’t actually lift the car high enough to get a stand underneath sometimes, and the front is pretty far in and the jack can get caught sometimes

    • @AggiePhil
      @AggiePhil Рік тому

      @@Qius_Carsinteresting. I was not aware of these pinch weld jack adapters. Will look into that. As for the approved jack points, you're right--they're hard to get to. I drive the car onto front ramps, which lets me fit the floor jack up to the front center jack point. I can then get it higher up and onto jack stands. It's a whole process. These pinch weld adapters could be a big help.

    Thx for this video. This is the only one of its kind I've found for the 10AT. I have a few questions:
    At 1:12, does jacking up the car from the thin part of the frame like that cause any damage? I usually use the rear pinch weld to lift it up just enough to get the front jack stand in. Never tried jacking it from the middle like that.
    I've seen no information about a transmission filter, is there none for this transmission?
    I've also seen info in the forums on replacing 3 different crush washers. Did you keep the same ones?
    Thanks for the info and this helpful video!

      Hasn't caused any issues for me yet, though that said, I've gotten in the habit of driving up on bricks now to get better access to the front jack point.
      No filter, it is a sealed unit.
      For crush washers, I might have cut that part of the video out by accident, but I did replace them with new ones (I just used a set of generic ones from Amazon, which has held fine). If you want OEM ones here are the links to those:

      Glad someone finally did the 10 speed! I use two 2" x 8" x 2' boards in front of the tires. If you ever need to lift the front of the car, just drive the car on the boards and the extra 1.5 inches of height is enough to get a low profile jack under the front of the car to the center jack point. However, when I need the car to be high and level (like a transmission oil change) instead of jack stands, I just use 4 car ramps (drive up on the front set, jack up the rear of the car and slide the other two ramps under the rear tires). Doing it this way, I feel the car is level. I don't have to worry if I have my front and back jack stands are at the same height (I have two different brands). On mine (same year and model), it took a little less than 4.5 quarts. I changed mine at 32K and plan to do again at 60K and every 30K miles. Dealerships and even independent shops want $400+ for this service, which is just a drain and fill! They must think we are fools!

      @Maroco918 Рік тому +1

      Oh it has a filter. If you unbolt the cooler it sits right behind that inside the trans. Honda doesn't recommend replacing it unless you have a failure. Especially since you have to drop the trans to get cooler off because of the frame rails. So it's not worth dropping for a filter I guess.

    What’s the mileage interval to change the fluid?

      Around 30k, factoring how much driving was done in city/highway

    I have a mishimoto intake and stock turbo on my accord 2.0. Will the mishimoto turbo inlet bolt on to that intake and stock turbo?

      You’ll need to relocate the primary o2 sensor onto the downpipe for it to work, as well as retune since you’ll be changing that location

      @@Qius_Cars ok thank you. I have a jb4 tune with an e30 tune i can switch to. Do you think it’s safe to run e30 on stock injectors and pump? Im new to the accord community

    What mileage interval would you recommend changing your transmission fluid? My 2.0T Touring just turned 35k and I haven't done this service yet.

      Usually when the maintenance minder comes up with the 3, which I think is anywhere from 30-50k. I did mine early since I beat on it a bit more, 35k wouldn’t be too early

    Why would you have to test drive it if you're just letting the fluid out of

    • @Qius_Cars
      @Qius_Cars  Рік тому

      On the 10 speeds, it’s particularly picky to the fluid level, a quick drive after is to make sure it goes through all the gears smoothly and if it doesn’t, then it needs to be topped off a bit more or a little more needs to come out

      It’s towards the front of the vehicle, there are two bolts - fill is the top most one, the bottom is the level check hole

      You shouldn’t have to accelerate it, just foot on the brake and engage the paddle in sport mode. Might be because it’s off the ground
