  • Heyyyy EVERYBODYYYYYY, thank you for tuning in. Your support means so much!!! In today’s video I will be showing you guys how I retwist my hair. I figured out halfway through my retwist that I needed more HAIR GEL ughhhhhh…so I ran out and got that! LOL the results are sooooo amazing and I hope that this video is so informational and useful… LOVE YOU GUYSSSS 💕

    Wash Day Routine Video: • Wash Day Routine | Loc...
    Useful LOC Tips:
    1. Buy enough retwist gel BEFORE YOU DO YOUR LOCS! Lol
    2. Use a water-base hair gel to MINIMIZE the amount of the product but MAXIMIZE the hold
    3. If you do your own locs, sitting under a hair dryer for 15-20min or sleeping in your clips overnight will allow your locs to dry in that set position
    4. Comb out the root of your locs so that they lay neater
    5. LOVE YOUR LOCS!!!!!

      If you have a good loctition it’s worth the money. Mine does free shampoos and does scalp treatments and hair treatments for an additional fee and works in a private studio with a giant flat screen tv that always plays black classic movies and she offers you things to drink and snacks. It feels very amazing. I love being pampered and look forward to my reties.

    Your video is the third one I've watched and I enjoyed it the most. I love that the state of your locs is very similar to the state of my own so I feel less awkward. I also love that you used small clips and let them dry naturally with no heat.
    After watching you video I feel confident I can retwist my own locs and save myself some coin. And of course I'll be referring back to your video should I feel like I'm doing them wrong.

    See, where the new growth meets the mature loc, that part always ends up puffy and loose. It doesn’t hold. Am I not twisting tight enough?

    • @issalocstyle
      @issalocstyle  11 місяців тому

      I wouldn’t say your not twisting tight enough because the new growth just hasn’t gotten used to being twisted up constantly! I def have that same ‘problem’ but I do know that if you look up videos on locksmithing and twisting the new growth up the shaft towards your root instead of down, that should help to cover the puffy. I hope that was a clear explanation 🥰💪🏾

      Given that this was the first couple times I retwisted my hair..I wasn’t fully aware of the long term damage that gel CAN have on your locs if not cared for properly. I fortunately was able to post an updated retwist video where I just used water and oil 💕

      I use two mirrors! A large one in the front and one in the back. I attach my mirror to my tripod to make it adjustable but I used to stack a bunch of boxes till it was my preferred height as well :)

      @issalocstyle  Рік тому +1

      Hi! And thank you luv 💕 for your question could you explain a little more? When I first started twisting my hair it didn’t matter if I twisted one to the left and the next one to the right! However once I realized that I wanted to do rope twist I just ended twisting all of the then to the right because that is the only way they will look like rope twists! Lmk if this makes sense

    • @janetlindiwe
      @janetlindiwe Рік тому

      @@issalocstyle ok so I am doing two strand twists and many are pointing out how important it is to loc the hair clockwise. Now… I (think) thats what I did at least all go the same direction but what confuses me is that when I look at the middle part it looks like they go the opposite direction each side if that makes sense.
      But I guess that must be right cause it’s like it’s mirrored I guess. U know what I mean? So I am just trying to make sure that this is correct 🥲🤍
      Thanks so much for taking the time & responding

    • @issalocstyle
      @issalocstyle  Рік тому +1

      @@janetlindiwe of course babeeee 🥰 okay so what I think your saying is that the two strand is harder than it looks and I totally understand 😂 retwisting you hair clockwise is correct so great job there 😝 Now in order to create a two strand, what you need to do is cross the right loc over the left loc while simultaneously twisting both of your locs, which might sound confusing but if you dm me on IG @loc.q22 I can send you a simplified video? 💙

    You used regular gel?

    • @issalocstyle
      @issalocstyle  Рік тому

      I used edge booster hair gel which I now realize that that was the worse decision for my locs especially in the long run 😭 I have an updated loc retwist routine where I just use water and oil tho which is a much healthier alternative 💗

  • @Tess-Monet

    Since the retwist is not locked in, isn't it going to unto itself?

    • @issalocstyle
      @issalocstyle  Місяць тому

      It will unravel a little bit but your hair naturally adapts to continue to loc up every time you retwist and the retwist is just helping your hair form and stay locked up

      No I wouldn’t advise to do that…the parts you started with you should continue unless u wanted to Comb your locs out and start again. Making different parts would cause you to rip your locs apart!
