One thing the West takes for granted is the patriotism of some nationalities. The Chinese are very patriotic by nature. Something that sets them apart from Indians. It doesn't matter the country they're citizens of. They still realize Chinese blood flows through them. They owe their allegiance first to the motherland. Russians are like that too. Very patriotic at heart! Patriotism is developed from infancy.

Hello Kevin, there many of us in the USA that agree in what you tell us as very logical. Those that do not hear your point of view and rely on corporate news media, have no idea just how great China has become.
The US system is set up to require a "Bad Guy". They had USSR. . They tried North Korea (but they're not formidable enough) . China is a whole different ball game. . USA isn't going to win this one. The problem? We now have a (former) "Top Dog" with a failing system and a "Big Stick" . Will they use the stick on their way down?
A VERY SIMPLE fact that most people find it hard to understand is that the US is good at breaking through things from Zero to One, but the Chinese are very good in dominating things from one to 100. For many countries, even if you gave them the full blue print, they still couldn't produce the good. But for Chinese, even if they have only one third of the blue print, they can complete the puzzle and come out with a final product that is better than the original. Chinese are excellent in marathons, Americans are good at sprints.
As a Chinese person, I do not accept the notion that Chinese people are not adept at creating something from nothing. Throughout history, there have been many great innovations by the Chinese, it's just a pity that due to certain factors, they did not develop into theoretical sciences. China possesses a vast number of innovative talents who are extremely intelligent and have made many innovations from scratch. It's just that, compared to the United States, they may not be as prominent yet, and many people simply haven't paid attention or understood this. The reason why China was not noticeable in the past is that it was very poor, far less wealthy than the United States. Once the Chinese become wealthy and have sufficient capital to experiment and make mistakes, I believe that innovations from scratch will become increasingly common, and one day, China will surpass the United States in this regard.
@@罗建-g4h you are absolutely right, good comment. Chinese are very adept at creating something from nothing. We have created so many things in the past. I live in the US, in California - 20 minutes from silicon valley - San Francisco - the Bay Area, we call it - just the crime alone in the bay area would want to make you leave the US - I lived here all my life and never seen it so bad - let me warn anyone thinking of coming for vacation or work - it is not worth it - you can literally die by getting caught by stray bullets even while you think you are safe inside your house - this is not an exaggeration as there are plenty of people who were killed this way - driving, having lunch out, or just doing normal things outside or inside thinking they were safe - of course some parts are safer than others but overall it is not safe - many shops are also closed due to crime - even successful businesses closed up and left not because they couldn't make money, but left because it was too dangerous for their employees - there are homeless people everywhere littering in the streets and making entire blocks look like garbage dumps, but they call it home in the streets and the government does nothing - so if you ask me why people would want to leave their good paying job in the US for a one way ticket to China - I am not surprised even a little bit
"of course some parts are safer than others but overall it is not safe" - nowhere is really SAFE in the BA (probably can say for the entire USA) because the thugs are driving around looking opportunities to rob. when you go out, you have to watch your surroundings nervously because you have zero security, no freedom to let your guard down - sad!
Life decisions are made according to one's need. Those successful figures are not short of esteem, money and achievement. I would think that they could see a bottleneck in their career development in the US. Safety and respect (the lack of) might be other factors for Chinese Americans too. Kudos to the overseas Chinese who have been galvanized to help China to overcome the tech sections imposed by America the hypocritical. Free and open market, fair play and rules based order are merely frivolous rhetoric intended for others but not followed by America the Hegemon!
We Chinese if we live and study outside of china…. We will return to the mainland. Even if it’s 1-2 generations…. Majority of us are nationalistic and return back to china because of our ancestor are all their. Example Chinese that are in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore or any western countries ….. one day we have to return. Chinese are Chinese , doesn’t really matter what passport you own. You can’t really change that.
I think it's not a factor of nationalism, but more a distaste of two-facing. True miànzi is important even if superficially it may get silly at times. It's tiresome dealing with people who's face is only always opportunisitic, selfish, and me-me-me. There are parts of the west that still have similar values to ours, but they're relegated to the quaint 'human trash' group that the psycopathic politicos like to refer to.
As a Chinese, would you say that you are more nationalist than socialist? Or are you more socialist than nationalist? Or would just say that you are equally patriotic and socialist? And what about Chinese people in general? What is your impression of them? For example, what do you learn in the school system, and would you say that Chinese media are more “socialist” than “nationalist”? Since I come from a country in the imperial core (Norway, Europe) I have somewhat negative associations with nationalism, but I know, of course, that there’s a difference between nationalism in “oppressing” countries then in “oppressed” countries. But again, if it’s the case that China is more nationalistic than socialist, then I’d find it a bit more scary if China becomes too dominant in the world. But if the internationalist socialism is still the strongest ideology in China I would be more optimistic on behalf of humanity. I’ll be happy if you want to tell me about what your impression of regular Chinese people’s ideology is. Or if that becomes too generalizing, then I’m curious about your impression of Chinese people in your region, or at least t people that you know, in your environment. Best regards a Norwegian that doesn’t know any Chinese person 😊❤️
@@jorgi6335 You can understand the chinese by noting how they greet. "Have you eaten yet?" There's a bit of shared sufferring implied in that, passed down by generations (1-2 for mainlanders, 2-4 for diaspora). This promotes a bit of empathy. This will also dilute and asymptotically approach western standards, as we proceed to many generations of 'well-to-do's' or 'silver-spoons' to borrow the western phrase. Chinese culture has no affinity towards nationalism / socialism, as both can exist, and has existed in various balances in the past, just like the west. We are just are behind you and still have the familia (filail) bonds. I'm sure there are still some segments of Norwegian population that have retained that (likely more rural).
@@teac117 Huh, fascinating! Where are you from in China? Are you from the countryside or the city? Yes, Norway is quite rural country compared to most other countries. So we do still have some of the more traditional ways of living in Norway. But, on the other hand, all aspects of society have changed, especially with rapidly increased, socioeconomic differences between people; partially toxic technologies from the Silicon Valley; racism, chauvinism, and xenophobia etc. but there’s still more collective feeling and belonging on the Norwegian countryside than what you get in our cities, at least the capital, Oslo, which is highly individualistic, careerist and snobby (where I’ve grown up). But it’s strange to hear that you think that neither socialism nor nationalism (or patriotism) is strong in China. What do you learn in school for example? In the Chinese educational system, don’t you learn about the great Socialists of the past and China’s socialist present and communist future?
Especially the top tech guys in the top US tech companies are quitting and moving over to China because it is the future for them to go higher in their life aspirations apart from other conditions pushing them to go elsewhere for growth in their personal life.

"Why would they do that?" Bill Gates himself answered that question 20 years ago when he was interviewed by Tom Friedman: "The best research at Microsoft, in terms of the quality of research papers, is being done in Shanghai." Even back then, when China wasn't quite as far along in computer science and AI, they had talented and very productive engineers and computer scientists. Gates goes on to explain his successes finding talent in China. Hence Microsoft setting up its Asia labs in Shanghai. The executives are mining that same talent--only, now, it won't be for Microsoft.
I like how Chinese scientists who are living live abroad never forget about their mother land . I wonder what would the United States tech industry would be without foreign brains .
Well, let's think about it for a moment. If it was true that China is far behind in chips, they wouldn't keep advancing non stop in all fields. Somehow the 3nm chips are not all that needed. Stacking up chips and using parallel programming solves the issue. For those who understand, do you remember when we were buying the most advanced chips? What was the criteria? Gigaherz. Now the tech went arounfd the Giga-herz criteria and we're talking about cores. Same thing in China.
I guess after certain level of material comfort, an elite person would have to come to an idea of have ego to be recognize by firstly peers and then everybody. Many Chinese scientists and researchers have been "sanctioned" in someway, restricted in funding, accessing advanced research projects or facilities, and career growth thanks to the policy of Trump Admin., even being harassed, surveilled, investigated, or to the extreme, arrested/prosecuted. That's why more Chinese origin science talents are moving back to China.
Being knowledgable in AI and Chips, if you want to build a stationary server just add more chips! You don’t need some glorified graphics card for gamers. But for stationary servers on the ground it is not a problem.

If not for US's anti-Chinese sentiment, patriotism towards the motherland pales when compared to the $$$ they could earn in the States
It's the anti-Chinese policies that USA has adopted in recent years that are forcing out the Chinese techies

We have created so many things in the past. the development n advancement in chips technology in uS in the last several decades were in fact made by scientists of chinese origin. .Have known this for sometime n learnt their names.
So true.
Then why Chinese are doing illegal migration to US via Latin America at this moment ?
ByteDance founder, Zhang Yiming, used to work for Microsoft and left the company because Microsoft 's rules are so stifled.
