They could have dropped Robert and I think Daniel would have done it for 20%, saved 15% of equality.
Considering this is essentially just a side hustle for them they definitely didn’t mind seeing the 35% go when they’re making 1 mil plus a year with their main shelving business
The final negotiations always remind me of poker.
By letting the family take their turn first regarding the % (which they used to loop Daniel in) - Robert ensured another shark wouldn't outbid him.
He used this to throw in a much higher bid (35%) than perhaps was expected. Perhaps a better counter by the family would have been something like 28%, which would've allowed some wiggle room to make Robert feel like he was still winning on the deal by closing the deal then at 30%.
When the family proposed 30% - Robert had them right where he wanted, called the 'bluff', and sealed the deal for 35%.
Well played Robert, and Daniel once again enjoys a great deal thanks to these deadly sharks. 🦈
But do they really need two sharks giving up over a third of their equity? I feel that Robert would've asked no more than 25% by himself no need for Daniel since Robert knows the business in and out with his deal with Hamboards..

there is a market for this, families with young children and adults who cant surf on their own. The problem is that the families with young children ages up really quick, and depending how many kids you have, you get 2 at most 3 summers out of it.
Pricepoint is just too high. Lots of SUP's sell around 200 now....and yes Mr. W the pump is always included.

Robert said this was a great idea, and said nothing about the evaluation. They should have made it 350k for 35% to keep the evaluation at 1M.
Lol over $400 for this inflatable thing? When they say this it's the cost of 2 boards, that is technically correct. But it's the cost of 2 high end Body Board. A Body Board, (different from boogie board) has internal rods and channels for sports and riding 10ft waves. A boogie board (used to just ride white wash) which is just a piece of styrofoam, is like $30 from Walmart.

They aren’t desperate at all, this is essentially a side hustle for that family they didn’t care to see that 35% go. They said in the video they do over a million every year with their shelving business. This product/business was just a fun thing to do with their kids to them
