I believe that nether of them will leave Wano, they are both inspired by Oden but just as everyone in the current generation they must surpass their predecessors, meaning they cant make the same mistakes Oden did. The biggest mistake that Oden did was leave Wano even though he knew it needed him, thus neither Yamato nor Momo can leave Wano knowing they must secure that it stays open and ready for Joyboy
Here after ch 1057 and wow you are GOATED and EVERY theory you put out are uncanny and absolutely on a next level advanced observation haki level jesus
Congrats on the growth man. Well deserved. These videos clearly have a lot of work put into them and I’m glad the algorithm is picking up on that and putting you out there. Waiting for the next one! 👍
I am so happy and proud for you right now! I knew that every reason you laid out was right; my only worry was whether Oda had abandoned his senses (or was possibly having a side-boob related midlife crisis), and I'm so relieved that wasn't the case. Now I'm going to go read some of those trolly comments that came in when a certain fanbase was feeling very sure of itself and practice my supervillain laugh.
Gonna voice a slight disagreement with your point about Conqueror's Haki. The Entire Crew having Conqueror's would actually be fitting. The Pirate King is described as the "King of Kings" and the Conqueror among Conqueror's. So Luffy being the Leader of a crew of Conqueror's would just be really fitting for his status for the King of Kings. It makes him look better by showing that he stands out even among a crew of other Kings. He's a King that other Kings bow to basically. Not saying it would happen but imo it would work.
Hey, thanks for the advice to watch this video in morj's stream. It's awesome and he mentioned some really good arguments that I didn't hear before but had them in mind (only some of them also not much in details as in this video ofc). If you know some other channels which are as great as this one is I would like to know. Knew I'll not be disappointed, I still remember your comment on morj's video and use it as argument in debates

Whenever I watch you're videos I feel like I'm getting spoilers. Everything you bring up makes so much sense and is backed up by a ton of evidence, and this was no exception. While you've convinced that Yamato probably won't join the crew, I still wish that Yamato, Momo, Hiyori, Carrot, Tama, and even Toko could all join the crew.
Thank you for the recommendation! I’m making sure to incorporate that into my video template from here on out. Looking forward to seeing you back here down the road!
I fully expect Momo and Carrot both to join, and Vivi last for me. 13 straw hats theory with Jinbei included in their as the 10th member. The 4th Vivre card databook further confirms this, check it out when you can.
@@Muddy120 Momo and Vivi will not join the crew. They are royalty. if at all they remain honorary members cause if they join the crew officially and the world government finds out (which they will considering the crew is now the 5th Yonko crew) neither of them will ever be able to return to their home country and take over the throne (which would make Momo's declaration to become the next Shogun pointless)
I really like how this is more so a discussion video than a theory video like you said cause you do bring up a lot of great comparisons between these two characters that I never really thought about! Well done Hidden, well done indeed!
this is an amazing analysis. I want(ed?) Yamato to join the crew but this video makes so much sense that I'm really not sure anymore. Also the part about Momo's relationship to the crew and especially to Luffy almost made me cry, which feels dumb when I say it but I just never took the time to stop and think about how much that relation had evolved since the first time we met Momo, so this pretty much made me realize that, yes, Luffy really does feel like a big brother to him now, and idk that's just powerful stuff man.
Almost brought a tear to my eye rereading the scene where Luffy asks, "Is that you, Momo?" Personally, the dynamic between Luffy and Momo is my favorite one in the Wano Saga. You really get the feeling that Luffy wants the best for him, and sees the true potential hidden beneath the surface that everyone makes fun of. I imagine that Luffy's way of mentoring Momo may have been similar to how Roger was with Buggy and Shanks - and to see that get passed all the way down to Momo is just wonderful.
I am happy i found you. I always thought that Yamato should not join the straw hat but I could not find the right words. All i can say that she is 'too much'.
Hey, thanks for the hospitality. It's been a rough year so far, but the themes of One Piece you've reiterated here are what I need to face it. Personally, I'm a Carrot guy, for all the reasons you said I don't understand how Yamao could join, but I wouldn't hate Momo either. Little shit's grown on me
Momo joining is also something I agree with, but I see him and Tama joining as apprentices. Also, it was mentioned that learning to Read the Poneglyphs was a practice meant to be passed down to him by members of the kouzuki clan. Right now theres no one else who can read the Poneglyphs except Robin. So if he joins the Strawhats, Robin can play the role of Teacher to the kids and Teach Momo to read the Poneglyps.
If Yamato doesn't join, oda grew up Momo so I don't think he'll leave, and Tama basically de confirmed. All our hopes are left in carrot hoping she stows away .
I have to admit, while I don't give a ton of thought to these kinds of "Who is the next straw hat going to be" discussions. I was on the Yamato Train before almost immediately after her introduction. But you do make a lot of good points about how "perfect" she is, which feels way too good to be true. Honestly the way you describe how she fits into the crew just a bit too well, honestly makes me scared that she might end up dead by the end of the arc somehow lol. But if I'm honest I think that what will really happen is that she'll end up becoming a Straw Hat in the same way as Vivi. They'll party and recognize her as part of the team. But she'll realize that she needs to stay behind and help rebuild. Then she can join in with the straw hats for the final war against the end of the series or whatever, which by then I imagine the crew will be strong enough that she won't overshadow everyone.
Naw I cant see oda pulling another Jinbe after he himself just came back. See we about to get something that I myself missed and am looking forward to and thats hurt Zoro , I don't think Zoro gets a fight next arc at least not one v one so she will be needed .
loving these videos, keep it up! I don't see momo joining the straw hats without seeing that luffy is on the path to open all the countries of the world, just like he did for wano. luffy being a reincarnation of nika, joyboy, whatever, all stem from the same desire to open wano that oden, momo, and yamato have
I kinda think that we’re about to learn luffys dream either at the end of wano he will yell it when he defeats kaido. Or obviously in elbaf cause if luffy doesnt shanks will probably talk about it
This man is spittin! The moment Luffy called her 'Yamabro' was the moment I knew she wasn't gonna join, cuz Luffy never calls his crew members by nicknames
Believe it or not, I planned on putting this point in the video myself! But I didn't wanna go fact check every instance of Luffy saying his crewmates' names lol But yea I'm 100% with you on that. I can't ever remember an instance of Luffy creating nicknames for his crewmates.
@@TheHiddenIsland- oh yeah, he never did. He called Chopper 'reindeer', but he didn't knew his name back then, so it doesn't count. Other than that, he always refers to them by their names. Amazing video man, great work!
@@Katanagatari-b2o Notice he calls Carrot, "Carrot." Some small hints there, hmm. Great observation man, thank you. Your observation Haki is 2000x fold.
My first 4 new straw hats theory said on the One piece reddit that, Jinbei, Carrot, Yamato, Momonosuke will all join after Wano. Now after this amazing video, I changed it to Jinbei, Carrot, Momonosuke and Vivi will join after Wano. Fantastic video man, you made an incredible case here, I have to say it again. This video truly is that good. Your definitely Goated for this one and this fits Oda's writing, fooling everyone. Your gonna be right on this one of Momo over Yamato and its gonna be amazing when this theory comes true at the end of this year. Can't wait for it.
@@devastating6143 Jinbei is a straw hat but Wano isnt over yet. Im saying 4 total straw hats will come after Wano is over, its not rocket science dude. Carrot is gonna get more focus soon, I expect the beast pirates and perospero to get back up and her to fight him again on screen. She already has too much evidence of joining being a bunny mink and the WCI pedro death and dawn of the new era passed down to her. Carrot will join the crew. Your the one I dont know what your talking about here.
I love Yamato, I want Yamato to join, but I will be happy even if she won't be part of crew. However, puting my subjective point of view aside... Comparisons, theories and parralells in One Piece made by fans are really, really tricky, complex, complicated and they sometimes contradict each other, like here I find somewhere comparism about Yamato posibly joining to Straw Hats to how Robin and Nami joined, contradicting your parallels and comparism to Momo: All of them first introduced themself to Luffy while looking below at him: Nami: from the roof Robin: from the railing of Going Merry Yamato: from the ceiling(she is also taller) All needed to convinced luffy to join: Nami: ask to partner as navigator Robin: invited herself in Yamato: request to board on the ship They all are/were related to antagonists: Nami: Arlong Robin: Crocodile/baraque works Yamato: Kaido/beasts pirates Luffy helps overcome their burden related to their past: Nami: destroing maps and beating Arlong Robin: declares for her war against World Government Yamato: destroying her handcuffs and beating Kaido(still in progress) Their dreams are related to paper-based object: Nami: maps Robin: books Yamato: Oden journal Their dreams require them to explore the world: Nami: she wants to make world map Robin: she wants to learn poneglyphs and true history Yamato: going out and experiencing outside world All are linked to the concept of freedom and liberation: Nami: wants to free her village from Arlong Robin: she is called the Flame of Revolution Yamato: free herself from her caged and oppresive life All are second recruit from each region: Nami:east blue(after Zoro) Robin: Grand Line(after Chopper) Yamato:new world(after Jinbei) All had someone who believed in their dream and was killed by antagonists: Nami:Bellmere(killed by Arlong) Nico Robin:archeologists from Ohara(killed by world government) Yamato: 3 Wano Samurais(killed by Kaido) Now, I didn't put this to clearly show that I don't agree with this video, it just an example of random comparism about one simple character. It is a coincidence? Most likely, but if it's not? Fans give Oda really big credit when it comes to foreshadowing with easter eggs and sometimes he can live up to this. The best thing to do is wait for answer to this, or wait to see more easter eggs or possible foreshadowing that could possibly lead to an answer. If anyone have read fully this comment, thank you for attention and share what you think about this.
This really is a Good Take on this Issue. This might be also the reason why the Jinbei Toast is Delayed, because they will welcome more member aboard. And Yamato will be welcome along with Jinbei. I would love it before the party begin Luffy ask Yamato to Join and they will throw the Biggest Party in Wano since 20 years ago. I can see the Party in Skypiea will also Happen to Wano. In the End Everyones will have fun and Re connect along with the New Ruler of Wano, Momonosuke.
one point doesn't add up to Yamato joining the crew in the comparison you mentioned. Luffy and the crew saved both Nami and Robin from their oppressors two arcs after they boarded the ship with that arc then also revealing their backstory Nami: joined after the Buggy arc, was present for both Syrup Village and Baratie, rejoined the crew after Arlong Park Robin: joined after Alabasta, was present for both the Skypia and Foxy arc, rejoined after Water 7/Enies Lobby Luffy already freed Yamato around 5 minutes after he meet her, we got her extremely weak "i lived in chains for 20 years and never saw the rest of the world" backstory in less than five minutes and she barely spent any time around Luffy at this point to even remotely create any sort of bond with him by now.
@@kingkatsudark2473 first half of your comment about specifically how Robin and Nami joined is true, I won't argue with that. But.. ,,creating any sort of bond'' you say. Remember, Robin started as an antagonist, she was that throught half of Alabasta, she saved Luffy once and later he saved her, they almost didn't spend time with each other to create any sort of bond, but Luffy let Robin stay on his ship. Similar with Yamato, thought she didn't start as villain, she is not crewmember and we will see if she will ever be one or she won't.
14:33 That's an interesting perspective. Queen did create Mummy and Ice Ogre, poisoning Zou would be the perfect introduction to what he would do in Wano and add more meaning to the Sanjihats being the saviour of Zou. Problem is the Minks cannot take their revenge on Sanji's opponent, and Oda still has a Jack card to fill on the deck. Oda wants to highlight the wings of the Pirate King by having them defeat King and Queen with bounties of over 1+ billion, having a Jinbe defeat Jack destroys this dynamic. I guess the only solution was to have Jack get Blueno'd by Luffy or Yamato.
This was amazing analysis bruv. The point about Yamato knowing too much is a major one. Momo needing to mature and finish the task Oden and the previous Shoguns (allies of the Ancient Kingdom) started. After opening Wano, we'll move onto answering other mysteries and Momo will have his part to play before he gets to go home. Pointing out that Identity is the core theme explored in Wano is great stuff. Your content is on par with Ohara and Morj among other notable OP UA-camrs in terms of analysis.
I literally checked today if you posted something. I loved you videos so much that i restarted One Piece, i had stopped it at the marineford arc. I had so much spoilers but it was still so worthy it, if not only for picking up again with the theories.
Although these chapters and characters have come and gone at this point, this is still a wonderfully put together argument. Loving the atmosphere of your videos.
This was a fantastic video! I do have a dream for this year, I’d like to start and grow my own channel. I am thankful I found your channel, your stuff is great!
Finally someone saying exactly what I've been feeling for almost a year now about Yamato. I wasn't so sure about Momo joining, but with all of the pieces laid out I think he definitely could be the dark horse to throw the community for a loop when he joins.
Great video, loved the point being the theme of "the burden inherited wil" at the core of the wano arc. It will perfectly lead us to luffy inheriting joyboy/nika's will and maybe foreshadow Teach's burden too with Xebec's will
I think a deciding factor for Yamato to join will lie in her post-Wano purpose, since all the previous Straw Hats have either benefited Luffy's story in joining or vice versa in Luffy benefiting the new cremates story. At this point, after Oden mentioned he was waiting for a certain figure, Kaidou suspecting Luffy could be Joy Boy, and Yamato claiming Luffy to be the man Oden was waiting for, I feel it would make the most sense for her post-Wano purpose being related to Joy Boy somehow, and not just sailing just for the sake of it.
This isn't just a well supported argument for why Yamato shouldn't join, it's an excellent analysis of Momo's character development and some of the most important themes in the Wano arc. Fantastic video on multiple levels.
@@TheHiddenIsland- Just for context, if you had to bet a lot of money (or something very valuable, like your life >.>) on either Momo, Yamato, both or neither joining, who would you bet on? It helps me to understand the degree of confidence that you have, because at least in the video you acknowledge a degree of uncertainty.
@@TheHiddenIsland- Sorry, if you choose "neither" or "both" then tell me that and choose now between Yamato and Momo, please. I'm not trying to boss around, it's just to get a clear perspective.
So many people in absolute denial in these comments lmao. I have always had an icky feeling at the thought of Yamato joining the crew, but couldn't articulate it. You perfectly laid out the argument I couldn't make, which is essentially that, from a narrative POV, there are too many things that don't make sense for her joining. To be completely open, I don't particularly like Yamato, for precisely the reasons that you basically outline here; she is a severely underdeveloped character that came out of nowhere and is ridiculously OP in relation to most of the crew. Her joining would almost feel cheap. edit: as an aside, I'm seriously loving your content bro, really dig the whole vibe you've created! I am sure that your channel will be seeing big growth this year! You should try to get a collab going, that would be very interesting to see.
Hi Phil, I made this video partly because I didn’t see my feelings on Yamato represented much elsewhere on UA-cam. My goal was to provide a clear and detailed reasoning for not jumping the gun on next crewmate, so I’m happy that it served its purpose for some fans out there. Oh and I’m working on making collabs happen! Thanks for watching!
@@TheHiddenIsland- i have a major point against Momo joining the crew. He's royalty. if the world government finds out he joined a pirate crew he will never be able to return to Wano and become the next shogun, especially if they open Wano's borders, making his declaration to become the next pretty pointless. considering that the straw hats are world famous with their wanted posters making headlines whenever anything major happens he could never avoid being seen with them.
@@kingkatsudark2473 Good way of thinking but Wano isn’t a part of the World Government. Also Oden did exactly that, pirate notoriety and all, and was still able to return home and be royalty.
@@TheHiddenIsland- you forget a detail there. Wano's borders are closed meaning the WG had no way of finding Oden (they would have never received a single word of Oden living in Wano). Ultimately what i'm trying to say is that it is not possible for Momo to achieve his dream by join Luffy's crew. if he wants to take the throne and become the next shogun in order to open the borders of Wano, which would ultimately allow the WG into the country, he can't become part of a famous pirate crew whose faces are known around the world.
I’m back here after reading chapter 1056, and this video still fills me with hope. Yamato is admittedly an attractive, cool, and powerful character, but she’s hopelessly hollow and underdeveloped. I’m holding out hope that she will not join the Strawhats as that would not benefit the story, no matter how enamoured with her everyone seems to be.
Little premature in your calling this. 1059 exists showing her choosing to stay behind yet there was a line thrown in saying she still wanted to be one of them. More akin to a jinbei 2.0 for possibly joining back down the line. Doesn’t mean it’s a lock or even meant to happen but this seems a little tasteless without context.🫤
The community has definitely picked up on Wano's salient themes, but this deep-cut reveals just how many thematic layers Oda laid in advance - thanks for the deep dive
Now I'm all the way through this I gotta say you make a good point I could see Yamato becoming momos retainer and staying in wano to Protect hiyori who will be the step in shogun while momo goes out to sea but Tama is coming with too
@@devastating6143 also her being on the ship doesn't have to happen but stating she has no purpose is just disingenuous and is factually wrong due to oda hinting she could join idk why your so tight about me wanting a fictional character on a fictional crew
Even watching this retrospectively, I really enjoyed this video. It states a lot of the same ideas me and my sister discussed about why it was obvious to us that Yamato wouldn’t be joining the crew. And despite the part about Momo not being true, I think so much of what’s stated in support of him applies now to ****(manga only spoiler warnings)**** Vivi. I really hope and think it’s likely that she will meet up again with them on egghead and officially join.
I think we need to see a bit more out of grown-up Momo and whether or not that gets reverted somehow, but your points are very convincing. Love all the content so far! Keep it coming.
Love the Chanel and the content! Great points for sure. Although I love Yamato’s character, so I’m hoping you are wrong and that Yamato joins the crew. Keep up the great work, and congrats on the growth.
This is another great video. It makes a lot of sense what you say here. It might have something to do with when I got caught up to this story, but when I did I was kind of shocked by a seemingly overwhelming opinion of people that wanted Yamato to become a part of the Straw Hat crew. It didn't make a lot of sense to me aside from it being something people thought would be awesome. The more I read as the manga came out weekly, the more I thought she would be part of Wano's protection and reconstruction to what it should have been for the last 30 years or so. She could do what Oden would have done had he been more mature, and at the same time clean up her dad's mess. It seemed like the Yamato = straw hat was some kind of facile bandwagon phenomenon drummed up so easily by Oda simply having her asking to go with Luffy immediately after meeting him. That being said, I do have to say that Yamato joining would make about 100 times more sense than the somewhat popular idea of Ceasar Clown joining the crew (basing that on comments with most likes on certain Crunchyroll videos, and some polls here and there that included him). That made no sense whatsoever. It'd be like having Mother Caramel joining the crew if the timing was different. I smiled every time someone called him the absolute worst :)
Very good video, glad someone mentioning these point out I was looking for this. also I subbed to your channel, Keep it up 👌 For some reason some people find it really hard to believe at this point that yamato might not join the crew at all, but it's not the first time oda's playing with us
Well sir, I am glad we are entering the final saga of One Piece and had the chance to discover yoru channel at this time. Absolutely great content, and I love the jazzy bar feel. Something you don't get to feel much in the One Piece community, very creative way to make videos
I just came to see a theory to why Yamato wouldn't join the crew. And I found an analisis of the central themes of the Arc and why Momo is the one joining the crew instead, something that I support with all my being. I literally cry with this video, thank you for this amazing content 💖

@@TheHiddenIsland-I was going to ask for other social media platforms but I found them and I will be adding. This video changed my perspective.. I was a Yamato stand but now I feel like I got caught in the hype and didn’t stop to realize this. Regardless, much appreciated.
another great video, put everything i've been saying about yamato and the case for momo as nakama for the better part of a year into one really concise, well done, well explained video. there's so much potential in momo as a character, i think it would be a huge missed opportunity if oda did not have him join the crew.
Momo joining the straw hats is such a huge slap in the face to the people of wano. They’re are literally people dying to get him to his shogun position. For him just to leave again like his dad would be bad imo
What would be an even bigger slap in the face is letting a cowardly child with no experience or combat ability run the country they just fought to save. They'd be left with a leader just as incompetent as Orochi, but just without all the evil parts.
@@TheHiddenIsland- Throughout history there have been countless of child leaders. The people of wano probably won’t see it much as a problem, hell the prisoners were crying when momo was revealed to be still alive. And respected and thought of him as a their rightful shogun. And luffy pushed him to give the speech and boost there morale. Because that what a good leader would do. He also has the scabbards to guide and advise him in the way he should lead. He trust and respects them so it’s not really much of a big deal. Not only that he has matured greatly. For him to go all like, “Sorry guys I gotta go out to sea again even though I know the country is in ruin, starving, and depressed. I know my people have been waiting decades for my return but I must leave now. See you in 5 more year lol.” It just sounds ridiculous. Everyone wants him to be shogun. Even Tama wants to see the day Momo sits on the throne. But, I do see him and wano playing a valid part in the final war however Momo and the straw hat adventures ends after this arc. Now you made some great points in the video regarding Yamato. However the one point you forgot to tackle in the video is that Yamato is being marketed to a disgusting degree. I have never seen a none straw hat being marketed this much before. Hell they gave her a famous VA. Tbh everything regarding this character is up in the air at this point.
How is that a slap in the face when they'd be getting an even better leader in Hiyori and an actual protector in Yamato? They're not losing anything if Momo leaves.
@@TheHiddenIsland- (sorry for late reply) I'm sorry but I really don't see how it makes sense for Momonosuke's arc to go out of the country at this point. It was even shown that Oden going out of Wano have caused problems. Even if it's only as a symbol, he's needed by the people. The country is getting rebuild, and the new government will want to open the borders, it feels like a complete irresponsibility for him to go out with pirates just now, and also given what happened with Oden. It's very obvious that the conflict of his character is that he's not brave to guide the people. And it's also very obvious that he will get the courage he needs during the Wano arc. Of course, he's not going to be infallible all of the sudden, but what was shown as a conflict was how he's a scaredy-cat that needs to get the courage to guide people, that's what matters. Then he will also have the scabbards and his sister as counselors and he will grow and learn while in the country. Anything else is an irresponsibility that would only be justified for the sake of having a plot twist and adding a character that has no real purpose on the crew this late.
I think that the lack of a motivation or dream for Yamato is evidence for wano being much longer after the raid. I don’t think Oda would write a half finished character like Yamato at the end of an arc and then just move on with the story. I love this video and your points, but a lot of it relies on the assumption that the raid is the final battle.
Yea I guess that is the big assumption here, but in my defense there's more reason to believe that the raid is the climax of Wano than not. At least that's how I see it. Either way - thanks for the feedback, dude!
@@TheHiddenIsland- I think the raid will fail but we'll have a fast turn around by the SHs and allies soon. After the raid fail/tone shift a fast turn around will happen and then we'll have them get up again and final serious battles, Luffy comes back and finishes the job and the Wano arc fully ends just fine at chapter 1050. That's what I think.
I know it seems a trivial thing now but Yamato swore alegence to Momo as a personal bodyguard to the Shogun Yamatos devilfruit is also a god of change and the dawn Yamato will probably end up the Captain of the Guards of the Shogunate with Momo the new Dragon of Wano (on Paper)
@@TheHiddenIsland- damn are you sure you're new at this UA-cam thing? You're great at showing your opinions without shoving them down people's throats (and also keeping it entertaining and stylish). Can't wait to see more of what you work up in the future 🙂
@@Muddy120 If Luffy defeats Kaido then doesn’t that mean the raid succeeded? What you’re implying is more of a little speed bump to the main cast but eventually success, no?
Remember that Wano-Kuni is still at the first half of the New World? I would like to add one more point that is mostly overlooked by other youtubers, Yamato does not need to join the crew because after Wano, she will not be chained by chains and Wano will be liberated from Kaido. Plus if she really does not want to stay in Wano, she can always just leave wano and form her own crew. (Since she also has Conquerors).
I will say that Robin didn’t have anything in the way of a dynamic with the crew members when she joined and that went fine. We have 5 years of one piece left; I think that’s plenty of time to develop yamato further. I still think Momo has to go to sea though so that he can a) command zuneisha during the final war and b) meet up with Bonney to regain his youth.
But Robin has the advantage of being the mysterious characters. Everything about Yamato was pretty much laid out in Onigashima. We already gotten her backstory. 5 years are not enough to develop Yamato while trying to conclude other massive plot points in the story. There's too much to juggle in the writings. We're in the final saga where it's all about closing loose ends. If Yamato joins, then Oda will just have to unnecessarily add more loose ends for her character to grow or else we won't be getting much development from her. There's also the fact that Robin was introduced during the earlier and simpler times of One Piece where there's little or zero stake. They haven't really reached the end game yet. But Wano's ending is the start of the end game.
Let's be fair here, Momo is a better option. Who doesn't want an actual dragon as a ride anyway? It's also looks way better than some cold icy mythical doggo I saw that Jack's rant at 14:32 btw
Another great Video. Thank you for sharing. Let me tell you real quick how I see this: Momo is not yet capable to be Shogun. He is a little Kid in the body of an adult and can't do the 3 things that a shogun from Wano should do. Be a great leader, be a swordsman and read the ancient language. But he will learn all of this as a member of the straw hat crew. How to be a leader from Luffy, how to read the ancient language from Robin and not only he will learn how to become a great swordsman from Zoro, but will also obtain Enma at the end. In the meantime Yamato could drop the "I am Oden" thing and learn to be herself. And by doing so learning from the one mistake that Oden did: Leaving his country, when it needed him most.
Also I would like to mention one important thing here: There is one good reason why Yamato can't join. It's the old Theory, that every strawhat crew member with a devil fruit have a number in the name of the fruit between 1 and 10. Luffy: Gomu Gomu no Mi. Go(5)mu(6). 5 and 6. Chopper: Hito Hito no Mi. Hi(1)to(10). 1 and 10. Robin: Hana Hana no Mi. Ha(8)na(7). 8 and 7. Brook: Yomi Yomi no Mi. Yo(4)mi(3). 4 and 3. add them all together, including the potential new one, then it’d look like this: 56 + 110 + 87 + 43 + 29 = 325 (Sa-ni-go) the crews ship Knowing how much Oda loves his plays with numbers, words and double meanings I think this theory is yet to be proven wrong. So the only outcome from Wano (besides Momo joining) would be that either Kinemon joins along with Momo or Usopp will get his fruit. This way Usopp would still have a really weak ability, but would fill the gap in the missing numbers. But I doubt that Kinemon will die in Wano. This is one piece we're taking after all... The thing with Momo is quite interesting. Oda has found a way around the numbers, since Momos fruit is artificial it has no name and so don't have a number.
@@VornameNachname-dt6qg So if you support the 4 straw theory per sea. Then imo and many others out there, especially with this Yamato video. Then the last 4 straw hats will be Jinbei, Carrot, Momonosuke, and Vivi. Nefeltari are getting targeted and very important to the story and Vivi's vivre card databook says she's the 13th member. So if her kingdom fell and Cobra died trying to kill her and she's on the run. Sabo and Grand fleet prob bringing her to Wano to Luffy and Vivi will join the crew in the end last. People think Sabo will give Vivi Kuma's paw paw devil fruit and Nikyu number and fill in the number gap theory there, saw it on reddit. What do you think about that?
@@Muddy120 Hey buddy :) Yea, I heard about those theories. I also believe Luffy will recruit 12 crew members in the end. There is a lot of symbolism going on in one piece. To make it short: Jesus had 12 Followers and so will have Luffy. I don't know if Carrot will join. She is not interacting and supporting the crew enough in my opinion. But it could be... she even already has a role as a lookout and inherited the dream from Pedro to see the dawn come to this world. So she could possibly join. But it's still not really her own dream, so.... well, let's wait and see with that one. I also don't want Vivi to rejoin for couple of reasons. Kumas fruit is a little too strong in my opinion (don't know if she will get it though) and I don't see which role Vivi would fill in the crew. On the other hand Oda really loves Vivi and her official status is still that of a strawhat. So even if i personally don't like the idea of her joining it's hard to argue against it, since everything that happens in the story right now is pointing in this direction. Her Dad got killed at the reverie and she could flee and is now on the run. Maybe she could escape with the help of the revolutionaries and by the time Luffy meets his Dad he could learn the truth and will be so outraged by it that he decides to go to war with the world government. Even so after discovering the one piece and the true history. But this will take a little more time, since Luffy is not a classical hero. He doesn't help the world for the sake of it. He simply wants to help his friends and the ones he likes. We can see that over and over in the story. So Luffy will need a personal reason to go for a war that will be as big as this one. And the reason will be the prosecution of a friend (Vivi) that will lead to the final war with the world government. So I don't think this will happen in Wano and not even right after Wano.
The way it looks like to me is that by the end of want kaido will recognize luffy as joyboy and give his blessing to give Yamato to luffy to join his crew even if luffy doesn't want him to
I believe that nether of them will leave Wano, they are both inspired by Oden but just as everyone in the current generation they must surpass their predecessors, meaning they cant make the same mistakes Oden did. The biggest mistake that Oden did was leave Wano even though he knew it needed him, thus neither Yamato nor Momo can leave Wano knowing they must secure that it stays open and ready for Joyboy
Ahaha on the money
Damn, can't be more accurate

I like Yamato, but I've still got my preference for Carrot. I think you make a lot of good arguments, and I have no idea what's going to happen now.

I expect Carrot and Momo to join the crew of that list myself.

Almost brought a tear to my eye rereading the scene where Luffy asks, "Is that you, Momo?"
Personally, the dynamic between Luffy and Momo is my favorite one in the Wano Saga.
Keep up the great work!

I feel like Tama will for sure stay behind though.
@@Muddy120 Nah Oda's writing Momo & Tama as a duo. If he joins, Tama's going with him.

Well, you were right. Kudos!
dude, i’m so happy you exist.

Or obviously in elbaf cause if luffy doesnt shanks will probably talk about it
Lots of good points in this video. No clue whats gonna happen next but this is a good primer if anything for upcoming chapters regarding this
Well done. This all makes so much sense.

The moment Luffy called her 'Yamabro' was the moment I knew she wasn't gonna join, cuz Luffy never calls his crew members by nicknames

Comparisons, theories and parralells in One Piece made by fans are really, really tricky, complex, complicated and they sometimes contradict each other, like here I find somewhere comparism about Yamato posibly joining to Straw Hats to how Robin and Nami joined, contradicting your parallels and comparism to Momo:
All of them first introduced themself to Luffy while looking below at him:
Nami: from the roof
Robin: from the railing of Going Merry
Yamato: from the ceiling(she is also taller)
All needed to convinced luffy to join:
Nami: ask to partner as navigator
Robin: invited herself in
Yamato: request to board on the ship
They all are/were related to antagonists:
Nami: Arlong
Robin: Crocodile/baraque works
Yamato: Kaido/beasts pirates
Luffy helps overcome their burden related to their past:
Nami: destroing maps and beating Arlong
Robin: declares for her war against World Government
Yamato: destroying her handcuffs and beating Kaido(still in progress)
Their dreams are related to paper-based object:
Nami: maps
Robin: books
Yamato: Oden journal
Their dreams require them to explore the world:
Nami: she wants to make world map
Robin: she wants to learn poneglyphs and true history
Yamato: going out and experiencing outside world
All are linked to the concept of freedom and liberation:
Nami: wants to free her village from Arlong
Robin: she is called the Flame of Revolution
Yamato: free herself from her caged and oppresive life
All are second recruit from each region:
Nami:east blue(after Zoro)
Robin: Grand Line(after Chopper)
Yamato:new world(after Jinbei)
All had someone who believed in their dream and was killed by antagonists:
Nami:Bellmere(killed by Arlong)
Nico Robin:archeologists from Ohara(killed by world government)
Yamato: 3 Wano Samurais(killed by Kaido)
Now, I didn't put this to clearly show that I don't agree with this video, it just an example of random comparism about one simple character.
Luffy and the crew saved both Nami and Robin from their oppressors two arcs after they boarded the ship with that arc then also revealing their backstory
Nami: joined after the Buggy arc, was present for both Syrup Village and Baratie, rejoined the crew after Arlong Park
Robin: joined after Alabasta, was present for both the Skypia and Foxy arc, rejoined after Water 7/Enies Lobby
Luffy already freed Yamato around 5 minutes after he meet her, we got her extremely weak "i lived in chains for 20 years and never saw the rest of the world" backstory in less than five minutes and she barely spent any time around Luffy at this point to even remotely create any sort of bond with him by now.
@@kingkatsudark2473 true. Yamato's relationship with Luffy so far are mostly related to Ace, Wano's freedom of Kaido and Kaido's defeats.
@@ShatteredGlass916 and like stated in the video she spends pretty much all her time in Onigashima running around with Momo and Shinobu
Glad to see you growing
Honestly, I wouldn’t have minded if Jack got Blueno’d 😎
Highlight wings of the pirate king by having then defeat....uh um.. are you caught up to the manga?

This was amazing analysis bruv.
The point about Yamato knowing too much is a major one.
Momo needing to mature and finish the task Oden and the previous Shoguns (allies of the Ancient Kingdom) started. After opening Wano, we'll move onto answering other mysteries and Momo will have his part to play before he gets to go home.
Pointing out that Identity is the core theme explored in Wano is great stuff.

@@garycoleman8906he got 90% of it right I think.
Great video, loved the point being the theme of "the burden inherited wil" at the core of the wano arc. It will perfectly lead us to luffy inheriting joyboy/nika's will and maybe foreshadow Teach's burden too with Xebec's will
What a fantastic gem we OP fans have on our hands.
Yea they definitely will learn if something and haul ass towards that direction after wano
This isn't just a well supported argument for why Yamato shouldn't join, it's an excellent analysis of Momo's character development and some of the most important themes in the Wano arc. Fantastic video on multiple levels.

@@TheHiddenIsland- I wish u join the reverie (bda law, tekking101' et al)

Wow man, this video went beyond one piece. Masterclass in content creation 👌🏻
As a Yama Stan I have respectfully disagree. I think Yamato is an amazing character with depth and a beautiful connection to the narrative.
Yamachubs lost letsgoooo
Little premature in your calling this. 1059 exists showing her choosing to stay behind yet there was a line thrown in saying she still wanted to be one of them.
More akin to a jinbei 2.0 for possibly joining back down the line. Doesn’t mean it’s a lock or even meant to happen but this seems a little tasteless without context.🫤

I agree with every single sentence you wrote here lol

another great video, put everything i've been saying about yamato and the case for momo as nakama for the better part of a year into one really concise, well done, well explained video. there's so much potential in momo as a character, i think it would be a huge missed opportunity if oda did not have him join the crew.
i don´t really get the too strong argument, especially when Jimbei is already pretty close in strength to the monster trio.
People said the same thing about jinbei when he joined. It's usually mostly sanji stans who are afraid the new person will overshadow him.
Your videos are insanely good
This channel is so great
Momo joining the straw hats is such a huge slap in the face to the people of wano.
@@TheHiddenIsland- (sorry for late reply)
I'm sorry but I really don't see how it makes sense for Momonosuke's arc to go out of the country at this point.
I know it seems a trivial thing now but Yamato swore alegence to Momo as a personal bodyguard to the Shogun
Yamatos devilfruit is also a god of change and the dawn
Yamato will probably end up the Captain of the Guards of the Shogunate with Momo the new Dragon of Wano (on Paper)
Sick vid dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That Jack rant for .25 of a second was poetry.
wonderful analisis!
Common Hidden Island W.
Let's be fair here, Momo is a better option. Who doesn't want an actual dragon as a ride anyway? It's also looks way better than some cold icy mythical doggo
I saw that Jack's rant at 14:32 btw
I don't know. I would actually want to use mythical icy doggo as a ride rather than normal dragon.
Another great Video. Thank you for sharing. Let me tell you real quick how I see this:
Momo is not yet capable to be Shogun.
Yo(4)mi(3). 4 and 3.
add them all together, including the potential new one, then it’d look like this:
56 + 110 + 87 + 43 + 29 = 325 (Sa-ni-go) the crews ship
Knowing how much Oda loves his plays with numbers, words and double meanings I think this theory is yet to be proven wrong.
Totally agree with this! Great interpretation!
Excellent responses man, fully agree with all of it.
So I don't think this will happen in Wano and not even right after Wano.
i have been hating how yamato would join the crew as evryone said but after this video i finaly understand why thx
The way it looks like to me is that by the end of want kaido will recognize luffy as joyboy and give his blessing to give Yamato to luffy to join his crew even if luffy doesn't want him to
This theory kicks so much ass. Nice work!
