Put some oil in a nonstick pan on a low heat. When the oil is hot, slide in the egg. Put a lid on top. The egg turns out beautifully, with no sticking to the pan, no holes in the white and no raggedy edges. Don't break the eggs straight into the pan in case some shell gets in. Break into a small dish or a saucer.
Do not use non stick pans. Although now mostly PFOA free, they can still be dangerous when over heated or get deep scratched in them. At least with oil, steel and cast iron, you know you're not ingesting particles similar to spacecraft shielding.
