I love dr martens. I’m a senior and I’ve worn the same marten boots since 8th grade. And I love wearing them just as much as when I got them. Worth every dollar in my opinion.
Getting stoned and doing almost this extent of care is probably one of my favourite things to do? Does that make me a sad act? Most likely but who cares haha

Thanks for the clip. Got a pair of Dr Martin boots with splitting shoe sole. Tried Shoe gooe glue didn't work. Believe , has to be a polyurethane base . What brand would you suggest? Thanks,
Hello, this is such a Great video it's a major diffrence in the end, i'm really interested on restoring my own Dr.Martens, can you maybe list all the products Here, i partially Got what you're using...
@@orksses4093 yes 👍 its great for alot of shoe repair things. It remains flexible when dry. It's also pretty similar to professional cobbler glue ( which is also a type of contact cement)
Some things are meant to be maintained and quality boots are definitely one of them ! Not only are you respecting the animal by making sure you don't just toss the boots away at the slightest sight of wear BUT you are doing what was intended by makers of quality good. Long lasting sustainability by repairing and not replacing. Plus, Nothing beats a well worn boot !
@@TheGlassToe Thats too true, if you nourish the leather it will last many years. Sadly dr matens, they sold themselves to china for cheaper labour. Im gutted cuz its gave them a bad name past 20 years!!
I have a special edition double stitched pair of dockers 16 lace in cherry red made in 2010, my left boot is like new but the right has many black marks on the front creases on toe 😢 Any idea how I could repair these? They were a coloberation by a company that were made at the original England factory for a Thailand brand
Without seeing them I can't recommend something 100% you can email me at theglasstoe@gmail.com and send me some photos. I'd love to try and help you out
@@TheGlassToe Thanks, I have recently applied some trg dye since first piston this matter, 3 times 24 hours and it seems to be working mate, what's your fav clear go to shine?
The boot at the end look like galas good job bro I just did that to my working boots didn’t get the same results but I didn’t use any of this products. I woukd like to one day try all this on my brown boots not worth it for working boots I have some timberland hiking boots for work am a delivery driver out in the desert so when I wear them again and get home they will be full of dust again haha
Thank you so much !! Working boots need the most care. I know it sucks to spend time cleaning them only for them to look trashed the next day, but be sure to care for them. You don't have to go to this extent at all but a brushing and conditioning now and then will do wounders.
This was such a soothing and informative ASMR 😊 Thank you so much for this and I’ve subscribed! I just bought this exact pair a few months back and they are in need of some TLC. What was the last black product you rubbed into your boots at the end after you polished them the first time? Incredible transformation!
Hi, I just wanted to help save you from over using the techniques shown in the video. Specifically, do not sand down your leather products unless they are severely damaged. This process removes a lot of the leather. If you sand everytime you clean, you could sand through the leather in less than a year.
@@itstoomuchhere5543 I'd recommend really only ever sanding once to correct damage. If you are constantly damaging your boots/shoes ( like with work boots ) leave as is. I don't do dage repair on work boots for this reason. Only worn boots that want to be restored and will only see accidental damage.
The creases would probably fade if the owner keeps shoe trees in them after every wear, that helps them last longer especially if they use dubbin and polish regularly. 😊
This was obviously not a resole video, but a leather restoration video. It is very hard to resole docs to their original soles, only a few places in the UK do it. The people resoling docs on UA-cam are using different soles, and basically rebuilding the welt, which is a complicated process unless you have the right equipment and knowledge.

Leather can always be brought back with so many fine products. Love all the videos you show to demonstrate just that.
Thank you so much. I'm glad you are enjoying them !
man I just restored my 10y old docs following your video and they got a second life. Thanks a lot!

Cleaning shoes is super therapeutic, I don't blame you 😁
Now that sounds like a plan!
No
I think you know how to be present and relax 🙏🥰
These boots would be comfy as completely broken in...I'd rather an old pair restored than new pair to wear in tbh. Satisfying video to watch
Good job my man,I just got a pair of those boots to Resole with 10/11 oz leather soles and the vibram 2724 with a low block heel
I can't wait to see how those come out !
Beautiful work.
Awesome job!!!!!😍😍😍
Thank you so much !
They look amazing, such a difference. Does the saddle soap remove the old polish?
It can remove some but if you have a build up acetone would be the way to go.
Perfect job bro well done
Thank you very much !

My daily dockers I've worn for 11 years, steel toe caps, industrial soles, ive spent over 200 quid in polish and they only cost me 65 quid new ❤😂

It was black shoe cream by Saphir. Link to the product is in the description.

What kind a glue do use it?
Barge leather cement
Was the lighter just to remove moisture?
No, it was just to remove frayed thread ends, however You can use it for that.
Is sanding something that’s common to leather-working?
Yes. You have to use caution when doing so and do so only when appropriate.
@@TheGlassToe what's that glue thing you used with the popsicle stick?
@@abigailjean7375 I need to add that to the list of items. Barge Contact cement

What type of sandpaper do I use
Brand, it doesn't matter. Type depends on the work needed. I usually start with 120g
What model is that docs you restored?
I don't recall unfortunately. They were made in England. That's all I remember
They are made in England 1460s 8 hole 😊
Perfecto 👌🏻

What is that glue?
Barge contact cement 👍
