    Very good recipe, surprisingly durable cookie. I was expecting a fragile, crumbly cookie but after cooling, they were sturdy. Delicious flavor. Perfect for autumn.

    That's what I wanted to say I have a issue with the canned pumpkin, I had a bad experience years ago & ever since I just by preference use fresh pumpkin but I know the process thanks to you sugar spun run. I had a feeling you had the recipe. I love all your dishes so thorough and explanatory in your recipes

    I made these cookies tonight and as much as I am on the fence about pumpkin, these cookies turned out soft and moist, a touch of pumpkin flavour with the added spices but not overpowering at all. They are a treat in October for sure, this recipe will made again at my house.

    Would using brown butter work out well for this recipe?
    My sister and I want to make something reminiscent of the pumpkin chocolate chip cake with brown butter icing we made for our nephew's previous birthday, and we're hoping this will do the trick since cookies keep longer than cake. ;)

    • @SugarSpunRun
      @SugarSpunRun  2 роки тому +1

      I think it could work. You will be losing a bit of moisture by cooking down the butter. You will also have the browned butter flavor competing with the pumpkin and chocolate so I'm not sure exactly how this will taste. I do have a brown butter frosting you could make though. :) ua-cam.com/video/qARe_W-cf-U/v-deo.html

    • @kuroneko3896
      @kuroneko3896 2 роки тому

      @@SugarSpunRun The frosting would probably work for this occasion, perhaps we'll turn it into sandwich cookies to still be able to see the beautiful cookies. 🤔🤫

    Hi. Is it okay to chill the cookie dough overnight?

    • @SugarSpunRun
      @SugarSpunRun  4 роки тому +3

      Yes that will be fine. The cookies may be a little bit tougher to scoop. If they are, let them warm up at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping. 😊

    • @SugarSpunRun
      @SugarSpunRun  4 роки тому +1

      @@SugarSpunRun ok, thanks for the response! I tried the recipe as its given, and the cookies worked out pretty good! It was only a little dry, due to where I live. Hm. The dough is SO delish. And the cookies are chewy and soft, not at all cakey (yay!). But I think the chocolate chips ruined it. I got bittersweet, maybe that’s why. The chocolate is overpowering and makes the cookies yucky. I think the dough would be amazing with sugar coated pecans!

    • @SugarSpunRun

      You could definitely do sugar coated pecans if you'd like. The bittersweet chocolate probably did cause some issues. I use a blend of milk and semi sweet chips. :)
