It's a real story. Instead of 4 brothers, actually 5 brothers died. The director thought 5 deaths would be too much for the audience, so he cut 1 brother from the script to cut down on the number of brother deaths.
Kevin Von Erich is still alive to this day. He didn't lose four brothers he lost five. The movie cut out the youngest in the family Chris. A lot of people weren't happy and critical of that decision. Kevin wasn't involved or consulted with for the making of the film but he was allowed to see it by the director who is a fan of his. Kevin and his family have gone to premieres promoting it because Kevin believes the film portrayed the love between the brothers very well but has said he's not in favor of how his parents were portrayed because Kevin to this day has defended his father over the years and believed him to be an honorable man and not the monster people perceive him to be. Kevin claims his father was very strict but never forced them into anything. It's hard to believe with the many stories that have been told about him but Kevin has never once bad mouthed his father and still idolizes him with a very childlike admiration. If you want a deep dive into this family watch the episode of Dark Side of the Ring that covers the Von Erichs I believe it's the fourth episode of season 1. There you'll hear the story from Kevin himself, while it's clear he has trauma you'll just see a man who loves his family above all else despite their faults and flaws and will never condemn any of them. As far as the line that upset you about David being a champion in the afterlife that's more of a nod to real life because David dying was a really big deal in the state of Texas where they were from and thousands of people attended the funeral and a song was written and sung for him called Heaven Needed A Champion.
Good on you for making it through this, because it is not an easy watch. The crazy part is that it could have been so much worse, as there were a lot of other tragedies in and around the family that were left out. Great reaction and review!
RIP David Von Erich ( 1958 - 1984 ) RIP Mike Von Erich ( 1964 - 1987 ) RIP Chris Von Erich ** who is not in the film ** ( 1969 - 1991 ) RIP Kerry Von Erich ( 1960 -1993 )
i’m glad this film was made. i’m a general pro wrestling fan but i didn’t know anything about the von erichs. i know there’s stuff that isn’t exact but that’s ok
5 of the 6 brothers died before 40. 3 of them offed themselves. Kerry wrestled with one foot. David had daughter who died as a baby. If anything the changes to the movie made it less sad.😢
watch and react to the movie Friday Night Lights, its set in the same state and time as the iron claw, excellent american football movie all based on a true story

Stone Cold Steve Austin said he never wouldve gotten into wrestling if it werent for the Von Erichs.
God Bless the Von Erichs.
The father was the curse.

I think this movie is about toxic masculinity. Their father ruined his whole family’s lives because of his own pride and ego.
Bro please react Anniyan tamil movie
